With the printing of Field of Ruin, and Ramunap-excavator (can't card tag from phone) in the last couple months, I think a really brutal, feel-bad LD build could be a thing now. I am thinking Excavator and Crucible of Worlds, Buried Ruin and Oblivion Stone. Is there anything there? 12 LD lands, maybe not much for spells, the Chromatics from Tron....do you think there could be something there? I know it would be super slow, not top level, but a lot of fun.....for exactly one person

Well there's two different decks depending on what you want to do.
1. Death and Taxes - Leonin Arbiter and Ghost Quarters/Field of Ruin
2. RG Ponza - Bunch of LD spells.
Melkor there is a Company deck with Azusa and Ruin Escavator that runs ghost quarters. It is in a bant shell, you might look at that. 3 Ghost Quarters a turn is a lot.
You can do a Ramunap Excavator and a Crucible of Worlds deck with 4 Ghost Quarters and 4 Field of Ruin. The only problem then is figuring out how to beat something that has resolved.
I just roughed out this one. handful of small creatures, Oblivion Stones, the cycling duals, I really like those in this, especially with Witness http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/09-10-17-ld/

Pretty sure a list like this would run 2 birds and 4 arbor elves. 4 Utopia Sprawl. 4 Stone Rain. 4 of that acid moss card that lets you grab a forest and LDs them. Probably 4 full mages. 4 Avalanche Riders. 4 Ghost Qarters. 4 Excavator. 1 Cruciple. That's 35 cards. Probably 4 bolts. 3 Beast Within (Plays double duty as LD, or makes a useless land into a 3/3 to have board presence). 18 cards left.. flex spots lol
Field of Ruin only seems playable in control decks that want to take out utility lands without losing a land. Ghost Quarter is still much better for any other deck and Tectonic Edge as well imho.
Fulminator isn't a maindeck card (besides decks with built-in recursion like Living End) and Avalance Rider isn't good at 4-mana so I don't think it is actually playable.

My vote would be death and taxes. Very flexible and fun to play even before becoming popular. Decently cheap as well besides vials since almost everything else has been reprinted a few times. It hoses random decks as well with the disruption package and relatively inexpensive to upgrade into legacy thanks to eternal masters.

Some RW prison decks have gone down the LD route, some full on with Stone/Molten rain/Boom-Bust and Ghostly Prison/Magus of the Tabernacle etc., some being basic RW planeswalkers with a touch of landkill added in via Boom/Bust, Ajani etc. The thread is currently tier two, mainly on he back of Sun and Moon lists doing well. All welcome.

People with belligerent signatures are trying to compensate for something....
i have been playing with a g/r deck with stone rain, molten rain, goblin dark-dwellers and demolish (instead of Mwonvuli Acid-Moss as i don't need any more land advantage. win condition is either chandra, torch of defiance or the dwellers. a few mana accelerants then you can keep destroying lands from turn 2 to turn 22. Often, you get to turn 7-10 and the opponent swoops.
Come join R/G Ponza, my friend. You get to relish in your opponent's misery as you ramp, blow up their basic lands before resolving a Blood Moon, or let Chandra, TOD do the heavy lifting and give you card advantage + the ability to ramp further into a plethora of badass win-cons.
I have been working on a red version with a splash of white. It uses the GQ crucible package with the goblin dark-dweller and rains package. The white splash was for prisons and flicker effects. Plus it opens up a much better sideboard.
It needed a win condition and I've been toying with Kiki in my skred deck so I put it in here with resto angel.
I only have the one resto angel otherwise I'd have four, I'm short one pia and not sure if I need a fourth.
The arid mesa is the same, I'd run four mesa and two foothils if I had them, but alas.
I played a Mardu control deck that played 4 Boom/Bust and 4 Smallpox with Flagstones a year ago that was pretty great. The expertise cards would have been perfect to act as armageddon with Boom/bust before they nerfed that I think its still playable in a slow meta.. just expect to have hard matchups against combo decks.
I've got a pretty quick G/W build, it locks the opponent by turn 3 about a quarter of the time. 4 ramunap excavators, 3 Azusa, lost but seeking and 3 aven mindcensors maindecked. I also run 4 birds and 4 noble heirarchs with 4 ghost quarters and 3 field of ruins. The goal is to ramp with birds or hierarch to a turn 2 mindcensor or excavator, then turn 3 eldritch evolution into the other lock piece. You then proceed to ruin your opponents day. Other than that its a toolbox chord of calling deck (you could swap for CoCo, I run 29 critters, it just feels bad to hit nothing but your dorks with it). Knight of the reliquary is a 2 of as well for guaranteeing you see your quarters early and often. And a play set of path to exile in case something nasty resolves turn 2. It is fairly weak to bolt though, if your dork gets bolted turn 1 the deck is just too slow.

Another possabilaty could be Séance. In some builds Fulminator Mage and Avalance Rider with Eternal Witness can knock out some 20 lands.

I don't see what Oblivion Stone and Ghirapur Orrery (why ?) have to do with a LD list anyway.
