Can anyone confirm this? I was looking into stores to buy singles from and became engrossed in the horror stories of White Lion Games. I'm not sure if Crimson Hobbies is White Lion Games' new moniker, but I am curious if anyone has had transactions with Crimson Hobbies and would like to share their experiences.
EDIT: I am almost %100 sure now that they are the same store. Their places of business are both North Richland Hills, Texas and both have identical buylist disclaimers:
We reserve the right to buy or sell items at prices that make sense to us, if there is a price error or a sales overage in our selling to you or buying from you we will contact you and offer you one of two solutions: A. Refund in full and cancellation of your order, or B. A possible discount or alternate solution ( Please understand we will always attempt to make our customers happy in any case we can within reason, however 3rd party sites that do not offer real-time inventory we are not liable for.) We limit each purchase to 4 per customer so many customers may have an opportunity to purchase cards. We will also try to provide the reason or type of error that occurred if one does occur. If you require B2B transactions please contact us directly as our primary focus is B2C, orders placed for the purposes of profiting due to our direct loss will be cancelled.
If you have't read the White Lion Games thread I would advise that you do. I would also advise to stay well away from Crimson Hobbies.
I can 100% verify this. I placed an order for some cards off Bidwicket.com from the seller Crimson Hobbies. After 2 weeks, I have yet to receive my cards, so I contacted them by email @ CrimsonHoodHobbies@gmail.com. My heart sank when I got the following reply:
This is Rob Moore, Manager for White Lion Games. I apologize for your wait. I will look into this right away and give you information by end of business today.
That email is now 3 days old, I have sent further emails asking for order information/shipping confirmation and have heard nothing. Suppose I can kiss that money goodbye.
Major hit or miss. I've made three orders in the last month or so.
My first order (Deceiver Exarchs) came on time and in great shape, and I didn't know what all the fuss was about.
My Nettle Sentinels got cancelled. Annoying, because of course they were priced under the market rate.
My textless Terminates arrived bent to hell because surprise surprise, a ziploc bag is not adequate protection.
In no cases have they responded to my emails, including one where I want to ADD CARDS to an order.
Edit: Correction, I did receive a response to my most recent email for this damaged order and they seem willing to negotiate a reasonable partial refund.
Well, it makes sense at this point that they would change their name. Just do a Google search for "White Lion Games", and it's all bad publicity.
Personally, I don't believe that they are scammers. I think they are just really, really incompetent at their job. That is, managing incoming and outgoing inventory in a timely fashion, keeping up to date buy/sell prices (to not get burned), etc. etc.
