Here's what happened to me when dealing with this establishment:
At the end of March I preordered two modern event decks. I expected the product to be delivered by the first week of June but it wasnt. After i contacted this company to see where the order was they gave me a tracking number which never got past the preshipment stage. When I called teh company again they assured me that they would send out a new order to make up for the original. A week or so later I called back to see what the issue was with the new order. It turned out that the order was never sent and at this point, the first week of July, I asked for a refund. They said they would refund my money and give me a confirmation email. This never happened and a week later I called to inquire about the refund which they insisted that they put in and that it was taking so long because of paypal. However when I called paypal on July 25th they informed me that the company had not sent out a refund. I suggest to avoid this company for their shady business practices and lack of integrity.
Just a heads up to all the other players that are thinking of wasting their time and money with this company.
I hate to criticize a store but I am also having serious communication issues with StompingGrounds. I'm abandoning hope that StompingGrounds will ever fulfill my order or issue me a refund. However, I want to warn fellow Magic players intending to do business with the store to be very careful.
I ordered over $200 of cards with them over a year ago (20 or so shocklands). The cards were never delivered nor did I receive any notice they were shipped. I was informed via PMs that they were sorry and that they would be sending me the cards. Trusting them I ordered a playset of Beck/Calls from them. These too were never delivered.
They PMd me to reassure me that they needed more time to obtain the cards but it was on their list of things to do. In June of this year they said the cards were almost ready to go out. Its been 3 months since then and I have received no further communications from them despite me calling their store (call sent to voicemail), leaving a message on their website, sending them a message on Facebook, and sending nearly half a dozen additional PMs asking about the status of the orders.
I'm down over $200 dollars and have come to the sad realization that the company likely never intended to deliver the cards and will likely ignore any further communications from me. At least I'm only down $200, it could have been much worse.
If anyone would like a copy of the PMs between StompingGrounds and myself for the last year, please PM me.
I've also had a bad experience with this company. First time I ordered had to hassle them with phone calls forever. Eventually got my order over a month late. Wasn't sure overall about the experience.
Tried ordering one more time just for reference. Never got merchandise. Called/messaged in various ways. Eventually gave up. Wasn't worth pursuing it at the time.
Among many practices that annoy me are shipping notifications without tracking or even shipping carrier information.

I know this is extremely late, but how did you order? Directly through their website, or through TCGPlayer.com? Did you use Paypal(I'm assuming did, but Wynk didn't?)? If you ordered through TCG, they have a buyers protection which refunds you the money. Additionally, if you ordered through Paypal, open a claim. Both of you will win the claim if it's not too late and money will be refunded. StompingGrounds has no proof that the order was signed and delivered. On top of that, this is fraud and can be brought into federal court.
Please message me on this thread or PM me if you had a problem receiving product from my store. I want to correct every situation that is out there currently and offer compensation for any customers that had to wait. I am sorry for any customer that has not received product from my store. Please contact me with your information so I can correct the situation. Thank you very much everyone.
There are more stories coming out of the woodwork and its been an issue for a while (at least July based on the first topic). The only thing now is action. While this may be rude and condescending of me, A man by the name of Kelly Reid once wrote in regards to stores:
Rule 4: You are disposable. You are a middle-man that conducts a relatively simple "pawn shop" model, which has been around as long as currency has existed. Nothing you do is new, exceptional, revolutionary, or even "good". You are simply a machine to make profit and mark up cards, and as long as you can do this while keeping satesfied the people who Feed the Machine, you may continue doing this. At such a point where you cease to be the most efficient option, you are a dinosaur and should be thrown into a Rocky Tar Pit. This is business, and if someone can get more stuff, cheaper, and more reliably, elsewhere, they will.
It took you this long to really be aware of issues. Multiple people have said they sent emails, to little or no response. If they went to a store like CFB, Starcity, or Card Titan, they would of responded with in the hour or at the very least the first chance they got. Right now, it appears as though SGS is the perverbial dinosaur mentioned above. Actions can fix it, and so can people who have issues above saying they were resolved can too.
To throw in my own story, I ordered several cards from this store but received a message from them several days later saying that the package was returned to sender due to bad address (not sure how as I successfully received cards from other vendors ordered during the same purchase). I asked the guy if I could just reconfirm the address and have him reship. He replied that he could not, but that I could reorder the cards from him. I went to reorder the cards and half of the ones I had ordered were available again but the more expensive cards were not. These were all foil cards that the store only had one of in stock for reference. I did receive a refund, but I found the whole event incredibly suspicious.
To everyone that has had an order from Stomping Grounds Store that has either not reached them or has had a descrepency in one form or another. I am truly sorry for my lack of professionalism when dealing with your inquiries. I should have responded faster to you and I should have been on point with solving any problems. You spent your hard earned money at my store with the expectancy of receiving product on time and with great service. I have failed you in these aspects. I look now to solve any and all problems that have come out of shopping experiences with my store. With failure comes strengthening and I now believe I am equipped to deal with any and all problems that I have caused. Please feel free to contact me and we can work out a solution that benefits you and your situation. Again, I am extremely sorry for any past communication breakdowns and/or neglected orders that you have had to deal with as customers. Please let me make your situations right. Thank you very much.
I'll be curious to hear if anyone actually had a positive experience with this store -- it was clear to me from their early posting history on this site that they were an inexperienced seller and/or fishing around to bait unsuspecting buyers. After disappearing for 5-6 months, they are suddenly back to try and rectify any problems. More noticeably, they are back to spamming the Rumor Mill with multiple fluff posts per thread in order to litter highly-trafficked areas with obnoxious advertisements (i.e., their signature) for their store.
Yes, it's extremely frustrating that he's been permitted to advertise flagrantly in the most-trafficked forum on the site while scamming our community for 6+ months and the information users would need to protect themselves from such scams is banished to this little corner. I think it very likely that users would infer from his frequent posts and the fact that he is allowed to continue advertising here that he is a vendor trusted by the community. If anyone on the sales threads took a fraction of members' money that he has and failed to refund it or ship product for this long, they'd be banned (and have that displayed prominently on their profiles) and be added to the ripper list.

I had no problems with this store when I placed some pre-orders with them. It was a while ago, I think Eidolon of Blossoms was one of the cards I ordered. I placed more than one order and shipping was combined in the end, after a brief email exchange.
There is no excuse for some of the things reported in this thread. And, I would be reluctant to recommend them or buy from them again based on what has been said here. But, I'm sure there are also plenty of examples of satisfied customers. No one should imagine that 100% of their transactions go bad.

Along the way, it is possible to have this part of the sub-forum visible for the public? I'd hate to see anyone get burned by dishonest vendors. There's a wealthy bit of information gathered here that will help anyone in the community (not just salvation) make an informed purchase.

I will place an inquiry for you. I'm not certain there's a good way to do that though, as we want Market Street in general to be limited to logged-in users only.
Update: Turns out this can be done, and is now the case. Non-registered users can now access the Market Street Cafe (but no other part of Market Street).
Update: I have just received my ordered cards (shocklands) in the mail last week in NM condition minus the Beck/Calls. I'll take what I can get. The fact the order was delivered made my day.
I'm not sure what's going on with Stomping Grounds, as everytime I've talked to the owner he seemed friendly, apologetic and sincere and I'm sure the store has numerous happy customers. My experiences, however, have been less than satisfying until recently.
