I recently purchased a NM-M 4th ed english Lightning Bolt. The card arrived last night as heavily played - the picture had a 1/2 inch crack and small but visible scratch (if you run your finger nail you can feel the indent), the white boarders have black dots all the way around it, and the front and back boarders (and 2 corners) are fading.
I sent them the following this morning:
Product Missing/Damaged:
Good Morning Kapow Comics and Games. Upon receiving the card last night, the quality is not exactly "MN-Mint" status. How can we resolve? Thank you.

Kapow Comics
I countered with:
Thank you for the reply. A refund will not be acceptable. There is a crack and scratch in the picture of the card. The corners will still show damage after altering/painting. Is it possible to resolve this situation with the being of the quality I ordered?
[I forgot an 'it' before being]
No reply as of yet.... I specifically ordered this version as NM-M so I can do a full art. But cant really do that with the picture in that condition. Thoughts?
The best you can do is to wait for the response. If no response, the next best thing you can do is to post here and let others know about it so they can avoid transactions there. Luckily, a lightning bolt is only a buck or two.
Does anyone know if you can contact TCGplayer with complaints about stores? I don't use TCGplayer very often so I wouldn't know, I'll look around.

A story about TCGplayer (not really related) - I was looking to buy a high valued card taht was damaged. I wanted to know what was damaged before buying it. You can't contact a store or seller unless you have bought something from them. I contacted TCGplayer support - they said that don't allow customers to reach out to stores; however, due to it being a high priced card, she sent my question to the store (under the premise that they do not have to respond). The store contacted me and sent pictures.
Back to OP: I got some responses. "We'll just issue you a full refund for the card." The next automated message was the refund for the remaining amount. Nothing was mentioned of my sending the card back........
Now one would say, cut your loses, it was a $1.50 card. But I say it is the principal of the matter.
Near Mint: The same as Slightly Played, but we threw some Altoids in the box we stored it in to cover up the scent of dead mice. Slightly Played: The base condition for all MTG cards. This card looks OK, but there’s one minor annoying ding in it that will always irritate and distract you whenever you draw it. Moderately Played: This card looks like it survived the Tet Offensive tucked inside the waistband of GI underwear. It may smell like it, too. Heavily Played: This card looks like the remains of Mohammed Atta’s passport after 9/11. It may be playable if you double-sleeve it to stop the chunks from falling out. The condition formerly known as "Washing Machine Grade" Damaged: This card is the unfortunate victim of a Mirrorweave/March of the Machines/Chaos Confetti/Mindslaver combo.
These days, some wizards are finding they have a little too much deck left at the end of their $$$.

Of course. Too many stores nowadays, especially on TCGplayer that cannot grade at ALL. It's really sad.
Glad you got your refund though.

The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realize it doesn't say anything it's too late to stop reading it....
