Alright, 2 and a half weeks ago I submitted a buy order to T & T. After they received it, which I know from checking the status on their website, now when I try to log in it says they don't recognize my email address. (yes it's typed in correctly) I checked my inbox and have emails from them from as recently as Friday. I'm going to call the customer service number tomorrow and talk to them.
I'm hoping this is just a site error, anyone have any experience with this type of thing?
Made my first order with troll and toad this week via eBay. Bought a pound of dice and a couple of singles. All came shipped priority packed well. I was worried after reading this thread, but it was a good experience overall.
I've never had anything but positive experiences with troll and toad. Even when the product seemed underpriced, I always got what I ordered and always got it quickly.
I recently tried to order some cards from them with the intention of picking them up at an event I know they'll be at, and I was told hey didn't take cards from orders to events due to "security concerns." It's a real shame, considering most of the other big online stores have a pick-up-at-an-event option when placing your order. =/
Ok, so I sent them 2 Buylist orders on Sept. 24th, they emailed me Oct. 3rd with condition issues, no biggie, I told them keep the cards, I don't care, I just want my money... Here we are 11 days later, no money, and I asked to be paid via Paypal... Seriously, it only takes like 5 minutes to send money via paypal... Who are they kidding? If I had sold these things to SCG, sure, I would've gotten a bit less, but I would've gotten my money on the 3rd most likely...
Thinking about calling them about this issue... No excuse for waiting 11 days for a paypal payment that isn't paid via e-check... No excuse. I will be avoiding them for all my MTG selling needs after this...
EDIT: New developments, after I emailed them about their dissatisfactory service, they emailed me back saying I agreed to wait 10 days, and it's been 18 days since they got my package... Seriously, they're defending dragging their feet on a 5 minute paypal transaction? If they're not busy enough to email me almost immediately after I reply to them, then they can give me my money... First time I've ever dealt with this from them, and it will be my last... Honestly, there are PLENTY of other businesses that deserve my business that WON'T drag their feet on my order... I mean really, SCG is MUCH busier than TnT and I got my money from them, sent out at the same time as my TnT order, and got my money from SCG the day that TnT emailed me about the condition of some of my cards... Un-fricking-believable...
Edit 2 - 10/21/13 : So, my payment finally got switched to check and was sent out, they gave me 10$ store credit for waiting so long... I emailed them a couple of procedural suggestions and I flat out told them it should NEVER be their fault a buylist order gets paid for late... I sincerely hope they implement my suggestion.
I suggested their procedure reflect this.
Receive Buylist Order, Process on same day (condition, quantity, etc.)
Email customer if condition does not match and counter offer.
If the Order does check out, pay them on the same day.
If the customer accepts the counter-offer, pay them the same day as they accept.
Well I just checked troll and toad and they're having this overstock sale. Intro decks for 5, some boosters for 2. Only thing that kills me is dat shipping. I hope this isn't spam. I have no idea where else this would go.

Yikes, that shipping is painful They don't usually charge that much for shipping (as far as I can remember), ah well, I suppose that goes along with that whole if it seems too good to be true..... Heck, out of my own curiosity, I dumped about 40 intro decks into my cart and had it estimate shipping. Total came up as just under $90 for shipping. I guarantee it wouldn't cost more than 1/2 that (for UPS Ground). Just something for people to keep in mind I guess.

I know, I had $10 courtesy credit with them, figured I'd get 2 intro packs, NOPE! could only afford one, shipping on one deck was $4.90... Really?!
(On a Side note, all the RTR intro packs are there, with the exception of one...I'll give ya 3 guesses as to which one isn't on sale...)
I've shipped larger packages for less than that...
Way to go TnT, you've done it again, just ensuring I'll never, ever visit the site again...

Troll and Toad is by far my favorite BIG store to order from. Bought a $30+ Foil card, they sent the wrong language. I notified them they quickly replied back that they don't have one to replace it with how do I want my refund. Got money back then I asked about sending the wrong language card back and they said keep it sorry for the inconvenience. Bad Ass!

Welp, ya know how I said I was "Never going to visit the site again?" Well... I had to go there to email them about something curious in my inbox today.
I opened my email and it just looked so curious.
"Troll and Toad has sent you $115.16 via paypal!"
I confirmed with paypal login, the money is there.
Question is, I never sent them anything for it, so why was it sent to me?
I emailed them about the issue, kinda hoping they tell me it wasn't a mistake, but right now, I'm prepared to issue a refund to them. Just waiting to hear back from them to confirm it was a mistake.

Still, it really shouldn't take that long to send money. I mean, they processed the cards the day after they received them which I can only imagine to be a more demanding process than sending payments. So yeah, I plan on sending an email if the status doesn't change in the next day or two.

I actually just finished contacting them using the chat service. They said that the check is scheduled to be cut later this week and sent out next Monday. So overall I'd say it's a bit on the slow side but nothing unreasonable. But on a purely customer experience level I'm comfortable with saying that the process should be faster.
Edit: Just wanted to update that I did get paid. Just took a bit over 2 weeks. Not the fastest process but good enough for the most part. They were pretty good about providing information when I asked for it so I'm pretty comfortable with selling to them in the future as long as I'm not in any immediate rush.

Both orders were for NM, neither arrived that way. I don't expect perfect cards, but this was disappointing. I appreciate their customer service, but would be hesitant to continue ordering from them.
Traded in some cards at one of their sponsored events. They proceeded to low ball everything and once all was done and i removed 95% what they pulled out. When i came up i asked if there was a trade in bonus and was informed there was, but afterwards they didnt bother calculating it in. Also requested a Korean counterflux in the group of cards i was trading in for and they gave me a staticaster which went un-noticed till i got home. Customer Service gave me the pound sand or flat out ignored my emails about what they would like to do to remedy this situation.

Yeah, just ordered a bunch of "NM" COK and NPH foils. All commons, nothing valuable, but yeah, talk about damaged. I'll probably have to replace half of it, but since my replacement cost is $.20 per card, I'm not that worried, I just feel like I should vaguely be irritated.

This store is the slowest store I have ever bought from. I ordered from 3 different stores, plus a random Ebay user from France (I live in North America), on April 2nd and received all of my cards by April 11th. This Monday, April 14th, I got SHIPPING CONFIRMATION email from Troll and Toad.
Seriously, the speed is just ridiculously slow, and the shipping is not any cheaper compared to other places. I will not order from these guys again even if they are the only guys to have something in stock.
Do they not ship in top loaders? I picked up both foil Angel of Serenity and Explore in separate orders and they were not in any top loaders, but were supposed to be in between 2 cardboard pieces inside a letter envelope. Both times, they came out loose. Angel of Serenity got cut up and Explore almost suffered.
I ordered a Beta Drain Power and it was shipped without a top loader. There was a piece of cardstock in the envelope, but I am not sure how much protection it offered. The envelope was tapped on the back and the address label on the front made it hard to open. I am glad I did not use scissors.

Edit: after contacting them, they offered to refund my order in store credit, which is reasonable. I probably won't buy from them again in the future, but at least they're trying to make up for it.

I posted a comment on their Conspiracy Preorder post on Facebook about it being the "Most Expensive Preorder Price" I've seen for the set, and guess what? MY comment was deleted, lol.
Seriously though, they're charging 144.99 for a box of Conspiracy, and it'll probably take them longer than ANY OTHER STORE to ship it out.
Why do they still bother trying? They're not offering any kind of incentive (like SCG does with free month of premium per-box you buy), they're just charging an arbitrarily large amount for the pre-order.
Don't buy from them, they don't like competing it would seem.

So I'm planning to sell some cards to Troll and Toad and I was wondering how people on MTGS who have sold to Troll and Toad have sent cards to them?
The main thing is that they don't want cards shipped to them in sleeves, so I'm not sure how to package them to keep them safe. These are fairly expensive NM cards, so I don't want them to get damaged in transit.
Up until recently my experience with Troll and Toad was OK. However I ordered some pre-release cards from them for Born of the Gods (valued at approx $16 and $20) and they took a while to show up. Eventually I got the dreaded message from the post office in the UK here saying that I owed import tax on them. Now I knew that the values were under the limits at which I'd be charged so I knew something was wrong. Turns out T&T had written the total value of each card in the price box and then multiplied it again by the quanity. SO for of a card was now effectively 16 x a card. This had vastly artificailly overpriced the goods and customs had charged me for it.
When I complained to T&T they basically told me to either complian to UK customs to get a refund, leave the cards I'd paid for or pay the extra. There was no apology or no offer of any compensation for their mistake - I kept the envelopes as evidence to show them of their error. I basically found their customer service very poor and now will not use the store any more.
