Gold queues are very popular even if they are vintage gold queues. Now people may not want to play Vintage to get Khans boosters, but 5 packs a whack has certainly crashed booster prices before.

Out of the blackness and stench of the engulfing swamp emerged a shimmering figure. Only the splattered armor and ichor-stained sword hinted at the unfathomable evil the knight had just laid waste.
Ah, *that* is what caused it. I was wondering why that happened but haven't had time to log on to MTGO and so had missed some announcements.
Surely gold queues aren't profitable for anyone at present prices, however. You need a 75% win rate to break even at dealer median prices, and an 80% win rate to come out ahead at dealer buy prices.
On the flip side, this should also seriously depress Khans singles by both decreasing the entry fee of drafts, and decreasing across the board Constructed demand.
Pretty bummed about this. I just 3-1'd a daily the other night and only realized the prices had crashed after getting my boosters.
EV is so low for dailies right now. I wish WOTC would take that into account before making a queue that pays out 5 packs after every match.
What do you guys think about accepting boosters as entry into constructed events? E.g. 2 KTK packs to enter your modern daily.
Would eat up some of the excess packs. Little economic thought experiment, I'm not really sure what effect it would have.
i don't think the vast majority of people think weeks ahead on mtgo
someone in the other thread mentioned KTK championships which could have dumped a lot of packs into the system, also the format is at a point where it's not fresh and less people want to play it, so people sell their packs to play cube

Gold queues aren't available till December 10th
gold queues did not cause it, it was likely people selling packs in anticipation for cube
Anyone that was holding hundreds of packs would want to sell ASAP upon hearing about gold queues coming back.
