This happened because all constructed queues and events currently pay out in M13, none in AVR. So the AVR price rose to the store price as there is no external supply coming in while still being a current draft set.
Well ISD block queues still pay out AVR boosters, but yes you are correct that demand has overcome supply for AVR boosters... they are selling for over 4 tix each.
My "Blade Splicer" picks of Thalia, Gravecrawler, Geralf, Champion of the Parish, Wolfir Silverheart have all increased slightly since the OP.... the DKA cards have the most growth potential due to lack of supply.
How high can gravecrawler go? Just now i've seen a few bots buying it for 8.25.
Blade splicer peaked at ~11 and it was in a set that wasn't opened that much. Scars was a disliked format as well as it being the 3rd set. Innistrad was drafted a lot more.
I guess since zombies is a tier 1 deck in standard, it'll slowly increase until the whole set is spoiled and we'll really see how good g/b zombies is. In current standard, timely and celestial purge are keeping the deck in check, so we'll have to see if they print any good hate cards in RtR.
As far as the duals go, I can see the blue duals peaking @ around 10 around the time Gatecrash comes out.
I don't think we can compare these lands to the SOM ones directly - although Scars wasn't as popular as Innistrad, the ISD duals never dropped to the lows that the Scars lands did (Razorverge was around .3 tix at NPH's release).
The price of poker has gone up on lands clearly. Modern being a strong format has increased the demand for Scars and ISD duals, and I think speculation will also play a minor role.
Oh... Get ready for a run on Fetches esp as Modern PTQ nears. They doubled last time and that wasn't counting every standard and block player having shocks. Tarns will be esp hot.

Well there's an interesting dynamic that's going to happen though.
Zendikar redemption ends November 5th. Prices for zen/wwk/roe should drop.
However like you said the PTQ season is coming, it starts December 22nd.
That's a good 6-7 week window. When will fetch land prices bottom out?
They actually bottomed after rotating from standard. I picked most of mine up for 2.5-3.
Zen was a weird set for that. You get to a point in the redemption cycle where the paper prices and the MTGO prices find equilibrium. After that unless people are able to buy things super cheep and stay ahead of it, redemption's aren't really worth it. Just like in RL, the value is pretty fixed, you make money when you buy cheaper than value.
Could they bottom in that 6 weeks? Maybe, but who would be the buyers except for speculators and people who want them to play?

Huntmaster is at the lowest price since it's been released.
Thragtusk dropped to 4 tix, and is slowly climbing back up.
So this weekened was the first big tourney for the new standard. The mythic that went up is Olivia, was at ~7.5 before the SCG Open, now is at ~10. Could go higher. I guess Sigarda might have went up a little, wasn't watching that price too closely though.
Interestingly enough, the r/w/u miracle deck by the SCG circuit grinders (brad, gerry, todd), didn't have any cards rise in price on mtgo. Tamiyo and Entreat are still about the same. Though those 2 cards have risen over the past month. What's interesting is that the miracle deck will probably effect RTRs Jace's starting price at the pre release. He's at $50 for paper.
EDIT
Olivia is now 11-11.5 (11am PST)
Entreat is shooting up in price now (1pm PST), i'm guessing tamiyo will soon follow
Despite the success shown by huntmaster this weekend, I don't think he'll be seeing a raise in price any time soon. I like thragtusk and terminus to raise/hold value.

I like to protect frightened things perhaps. I assembled them in the fortress of beefitude for safety.
Yeah any deck that's playing green could play thragtusks. Bots are selling it at 6, it'll probably hit 8. I don't know if it'll hit 10 like phantasmal image did. Image was blue, and m12 wasn't drafted as much as m13.
EDIT, a few hours after I make that post terminus starts rising. Guess it took a while for the news that Todd Anderson won the SCG open. And apparently blue/white aggro won the TCG Open.
Just looked at Entreat the Angels for kicks and it practically doubled in price (was $12, now $19.xx).
Not so sure on Huntmaster, if Miracle.dek continues to win I think he will be trimmed down to 2 copies for something else... if creature based deck win (Zombies/Midrange/Humans) then 4 copies might be staple
Snapcaster Mage has been going down, this might be a good time to stock up on them.
I have 18 Thragtusks right now, hopefully it can peak up to 8-9 so I can unload.
What do you guys think the Shocklands will be worth at release? I've only played MODO for a couple of months and all my winnings have been on a Modern deck, play more events, building up my collection, and buying Thragtusks. I will probably play B/R Zombies upon release of RTR, since most cards will be expensive, so my main concern will be Dreadbore, Rakdos Cackler, and Blood Crypt.
The shocks are confusing, and maybe there's some kind of modern event coming up on MODO that I don't know about, but they have been constantly bought out and rising. I expect shocks to maintain a high price for a few weeks until people are stocked up on them for standard decks, at which point I expect to see a decline. All the non standard players should have what they want by this point.
I screwed up and sold out most of my collection to build a fancy EDH deck, hopefully at least I can capitalize on moving my all Huntmasters @19.

I think they're bought out for standard? The first public tourney was this past weekend and people are probably just now buying them. The only modern event coming soon is the pro tour.
Entreat peaked at 22ish, I sold mine for 20.25 to a bot since I got them at 16.
Terminus looks like to have peaked at 3.
Olivia is still increasing slightly, it's at 12ish.
Prices will probably fluctuate this weekend when the set is released and another starcity event happens.
I think one thing that is interesting about finance on MODO is that people look for cheap decks to play, which then skyrocket. I think one card with potential is Mikaeus, the Lunarch.
Honor of the Pure needs a replacement in all of the white creature swarm style decks, Mikaeus has the added benefit of pumping Champion of the Parish, and it no longer just folds to Gut Shot if you run it out there on turn 2.
In summation.....Star Trek wins a prolonged naval battle against superior, yet less technologically advanced, numbers, with Picard leading the assault, while Kirk takes your soul by laying out Solo and probably his manservant Chewy as well, before impregnating and ditching your Princess.
I like Mikaeus a lot - and Angel of Jubilation due to lack of pump effects prevalent as you mentioned.
Mikaeus has been somewhat high (~3-5 tix) on MODO despite lack of constructed play (even block), and I suspect it will only go higher even if no deck featuring him surfaces.
Don't you have to see a deck with 3-4 mythics before the price rises noticibly?
I don't see this card being more than a 1 of in decks. He's really slow and being legendary doesn't help him. Channelfireball had mikaeus be the last card to make the deck at PT AVR, and that was because he fit anywhere in the curve.
Hallowed fountain also hit ~20. Geist is 26 and change, not 28 (as i make this post)
Thragtusk looks to have peaked at 8.5ish. I sold mine for 7.5 since I didn't feel like trying to find a human to buy for 8.
I think there was a bubble for some of these cards like thragtusk and messenger and gravecrawler. The ISD lands are probably peaking too.
Huntmaster is rebounding from 15 tickets a week ago, bots are selling at 18.
Olivia is hovering around 13 for the past few days.
I didn't realize how bad supernova is with their pricing when it comes to popular cards. The goldfish site isn't that helpful. It's only good for trends and price history. And since they only use the sell price and update once a day at night, supernova could be sold out and the site doesn't reflect the price increase till days/weeks later when supernova is in stock at the nightly update.
Supernova is only accurate when they have buy and sell prices. If they only have one they are very slow to get to the new price equilibrium. This happens a lot when card prices are moving fast. Their algorithm is slow in adjusting and it seems to me that there is absolutely no human input. When AVR was released they started Cavern at a ridiculous low price and it took them weeks to reach the market price.
But when they do have Buy and Sell prices it is hard to find a bot that has/offers better prices in both directions. And for that I love them.
So bots are selling thragtusk at 9.9. Didn't think it would get that high with how much m13 was drafted. Is it because more people are playing mtgo than last year? RTR has excited everyone? Thragtusk goes into any main deck that can play green, where as Phantasmal image wasn't really an auto include in decks playing blue?
Also Sorin, Lord of Innistrad is up a few tickets since the winning SCG deck had him. The pilot of this junk tokens deck said he was the best card in the deck, though he only had 3.
I'm skeptical since I played b/w tokens late last standard season, and sorin didn't make the cut. What he does for 4 mana isn't amazing. For 2 or 3 mana the cards in your deck make 2 flying tokens instead of 1 non flyer. I guess the life link really makes a difference vs zombies? For 2 mana you get +1/+1 and vigilance. Sorin's ult isn't that great. He really needs multiple activations to be worth it. Though I didn't watch the scg coverage to see how that deck played.
In summation.....Star Trek wins a prolonged naval battle against superior, yet less technologically advanced, numbers, with Picard leading the assault, while Kirk takes your soul by laying out Solo and probably his manservant Chewy as well, before impregnating and ditching your Princess.
Sorin, Lord of Innistrad also aligns with Orzhov for Gatecrash. It is also a small set mythic. I think you could find a worse place for your tickets.
I was questioning why the guy thought it was good in his deck, not why it's increasing in price. It's increasing in price since the guy won a publicized tourney with it, not because of gatecrash or it's in a smaller set. Though it being in a smaller set will give it a higher price ceiling. I'd probably sell them soon if you have them and aren't planning to use them. The card isn't that good imo.

The thing with sorin is his ultimate ability, it kills walkers, and the format is going to have at least 1 walker deck (UWR control)
So, sorin could became a card needed just for metagame, depending how successfull are UWX control decks, and right know they seem popular

Not to sure what to make of terminus, since it costs 6 if you don't miracle it. There are so many other sweepers in the format. Mutilate, supreme verdict, blasphemous act, Magma Quake, bonfire of the damned, Mizzium Mortars, rolling tremblor, cyclonic rift, street spasm, devastation tide, and killing wave. It's hard to tell which one will be the best. In fact some will probably take the place of others depending on the meta. I think cyclonic rift seems pretty good.
EDIT, a few hours after I make that post terminus starts rising. Guess it took a while for the news that Todd Anderson won the SCG open. And apparently blue/white aggro won the TCG Open.

Ty for the link, looks like it will be pretty useful
Around when DKA was released, there was the record set for highest amount of concurrent users.
https://twitter.com/mtgonline/status/256533511840886784
And RTR has the most people online for any pre-release.
https://twitter.com/FoundOmega/status/257153519629520896
I guess that puts a price limit on some of the rares like the dual lands in ISD and RTR. Probably won't get as high as 9 tickets mid standard season.
Very true.
