A certain online bot has increased the prices of the following cards hours before a certain popular player posted a 'new' list on a certain popular website.
These current prices are updated to now. However they were all on a incline hrs ago. I remember specifically because I was confused to why several of them would be getting such a huge push when they dont see play.
Can anyone explain to me how this is so? I feel ripped off to be honest. I've spend hundreds of dollars with this bot and thought they were on the up and up. I fully understand reacting to a change in the marketplace and even being proactive in the market.
However somehow having 'inside' info on columns and/or decklists hours before anyone else only to inflate the prices before anyone else is aware seems dishonest to me.
I very well may be reading way too much into this. But I play on a very tight budget and hate to wonder how many times I've gone to my favorite bot thinking they were honest in their dealings with me, only to be losing tickets over time because of these types of tactics.
ummm, that deck was clearly on video coverage about 48 hours ago and was being played by a brewer with a known propensity to drive up prices of cards. Following those streams is just smart business, if you don't do that you're going to have hoards of speculators watching the streams and buying you out to take advantage of the subsequent price spike.
Could it be possible that other customers with inside information were buying up card stocks and driving the prices up, as opposed to the bot operator doing so?
Out of the blackness and stench of the engulfing swamp emerged a shimmering figure. Only the splattered armor and ichor-stained sword hinted at the unfathomable evil the knight had just laid waste.
yeah, it's exactly the reason you watch streams if you're into finance. I'm not big on trading personally, but the moment I saw conley playing that deck I was like "there's going to be a spec opportunity here".
I didn't track any cards this time since I wasn't confident in the economy
but I saw the price of those 2 cards go up on a Twitter bot, I knew they went up due to Conley Wood's brew (so there's a rational reason as to why they went up), and found some bots that didn't update their prices
it's not that special and it can take quite a bit of time (you'd make more money with minimum wage)

which bot do you think? the mtggoldfish twitter account isn't a bot it's a human which posts woefully slow price changes. I love their site and am glad you hooked them up price info, but their content for standard prices is not as complete as:

Oh, well if you are referring to my bot then obviously someone bought them out to raise the price that high. When my leg is better I will check the bot history to confirm.

I think there's a misunderstanding about what type of bot we're talking about. I said a Twitter bot which tweets prices gave me a tip to buy jarads and shadowborne demons. I was able to find bots that hadn't updated their price yet. Your chain sort of sets the prices, so your bot adjusted the price sooner than others. In fact that twitter bot tweets based on your price changes.
I don't think a bot(or 1 person) came and cleaned out your jarads and shadowborne demons, if that's what you're thinking.
@mittimimtg is a Twitter bot, not a bot that buys cards

Yeah I think we are talking about 2 different things. I'm talking about the OP's post which said: "A certain online bot has increased the prices of the following cards hours before a certain popular player posted a 'new' list on a certain popular website."
I was just making sure that people knew that this was due to player(s) buying out the card and making the price go up and not some weird insider knowledge thing on our part. If a player had called me from the event and I raised them I would tell you as there is nothing wrong with me doing that but that was not the case with this.

It's unfortunate for you this market stuff is over your head.
