Is it just me, or is it crazy a card like Sagu Mauler is considered nearly bulk material? I mean, a 6/6 for 6 with only 2 colors to devote to, with Trample and Hexproof that can also Morph and pop for just 5... I guess it just does not have a home, and UG isn't popular now, or it just cannot support a card like this? All I know is if I can scrape up some money I intend to buy some up, and so far R_E you have the best price on them from people I do business with, but even my local shop only has them at $2.50/each. I'm still looking at it and wondering when it will pop, or if it is one of those fatties that just fades into the background.

The problem is it's Simic and Simic are the worst 2 color combo. They have no removal and no direct damage between them.
The best part about it is morph gets under a Disdainful Stroke. If you're on the play against control they can't get a Dissolve up before you can play it.
Sultai and Temur haven't proven to be playable clans yet leaving it a bit stranded without a deck. It could still prove to be good.
Okay, as promised here is the ebay update version of my valuation list (this is the low end of what the cards can be bought at with at least a playset of availability from ebay and allowing for a low but reasonable shipping cost.) I typically look at the lowest end of playset buy it now listings of the cards and then divide by 4.
Top valued Rares and mythics:
Sarkhan the Dragonspeaker: $30
Sorin, Solemn Visitor: $23.50
Polluted Delta: $16
Wingmate Roc: $16
Flooded Strand: $15
Windswept Heath: $13
Wooded Foothills: $13
Bloodstained Mire: $12
Dig Through Time: $9
Siege Rhino: $8
Clever Impersonator: $7
Ashcloud Phoenix: $6
Mantis Rider: $5.50
Anafenza the Foremost: $5.50
Sidisi Brood Tyrant: $5
See the Unwritten: $5
Surrak Dragonclaw: $4.50
Jeskai Ascendency: $4
Rattleclaw Mystic: $4
Bloodsoaked Champion: $4
Empty the Pits: $4
Raksha Deathdealer: $3.50
Butcher of the Horde: $3
Utter End: $3
Narset, Enlightened Master: $3
Savage Knuckleblade: $2.50
Pearl Lake Ancient: $2.50
Hooded Hydra: $2.50
Crackling Doom: $2.50
Deflecting Palm: $2
End Hostilities: $2
Everything else is less than $2.
Set Value:
Total value of mythics: $116
Total value of rares: $130
Value of common/uncommon set: $10
Total complete set value of singles: $256
Overall Average Box Value (compared to buying the singles separately):
Mythics: $116/15= $7.73/mythic x 4.5 mythics/box = $35/box
Rares: $130/53= $2.45/rare x 31.5 rares/box = $77/box
Uncommon/common set: $10 x 1.3/box = $13/box
Foils: $5/box (Foils are far too random to be given a higher value, some boxes you end up with $1 in foils, others you can get $40+)
Total overall average box value: $130
Ebay values shaved about $10 off the box price as I had previously estimated it likely would, still a very good value compared to buying singles for now at least, these sorts of valuations never last long though, they simply are not sustainable.
Now, for a secondary box evaluation, I will as a previous discussion brought forth the added perspective of, determine as closely I can the average re-sale value of the overall average booster box worth of singles for the set (based on ebay values and fee structure). Thusly only rares worth $2 or more will be counted for the sake of this valuation:
Mythics: $114/15 = 7.4/mythic x 4 mythics/box = $30
Rares: $121/53 = 2.28/rare x 32 rares/box = $73
Uncommon/common set (1x of each) 1 set/box = $10
Foils: $5 (some boxes will be Zero, some will be $40+, I figure $5 is a safe average)
Total ebay sellable card box value (overall average): $118
Then to determine how much you would actually get, basically take that number and subtract 20% for ebay/paypal/shipping/supply costs and fees.
Thusly you end up with $118 x .80 = $94.40/box.
As with any overall average figure, your box could be a good bit above or below depending on how good or bad your luck is, inevitably the mythics are top heavy, as are the rares to their own (though a good bit less so) extent.
Anyhow, I hope you all enjoy the update, and I will inevitably do more in the future as time allows.

I really wish you would do your homework before you speak! Temur has been proven to be a good deck. There are several decks out there showing well on a weekly basis. You should go through the states lists...you'll see Temur Planeswalkers, Temur Monsters, Temur Midrange. I'm pretty convinced you're speaking pure opinion when you comment on things. I think you only sit a read the online dailies and you take that as "the format" and run with it. Sagu Mauler is currently running as a 2 of in some mains, but mostly sideboards.

Medium difficulty, I list the cards myself through eBay/TCGPlayer and likely also get lower than TCG low (or at least comparable).
If you list cards at TCG Player, how do you net something comparable to TCG low? Same goes for eBay, are you really able to net something comparable to TCG Player low when you sell on eBay?

If your cards are pristine (and thus listable at NM) and you can list multiple copies, you can generally get away with listing cards slightly above the low value on TCGPlayer/eBay. However, you do need to account for the fee the sites take, as well as PayPal's cut, and any shipping costs that you will have to pay for yourself. The end result is that you get something slightly below or approximately at TCG Low if you can manage to consistently sell near TCG Mid.
This is the method that jeffbcrandall uses to determine his EBV, as that's what he normally does to sell the cards. It's possible to eke out slightly more value than this (without being a store), but it generally involves having several large playgroups that you regularly attend and that are willing to buy cards from you. It's generally possible to get 70-75% of SCG's sale price (/TCGMid) with direct player-to-player sales, which ends up being ~5% more than you'd make with the above method.

That is the latest metagame information. I don't give a flying Fireball about "dailies".
Neither pro tours nor dailies are meta. GPs and states are probably the best determinants of what is meta and what is not.

Actually, for clarification's sake. The method I always would use when I used to own/run the magic singles collection at our local shop and would regularly be selling singles (playsets) on ebay of newer sets et all, was matching or beating the lowest priced ebay playsets with a small but reasonable shipping cost attached as I also had a small but reasonable shipping cost attached to mine to match. My margins were always tiny, but I made up for it in massive volume, more and more coming from the shop itself until I finally couldn't keep up with it anymore and for health reasons decided to leave the shop to focus more time on myself (my health) and my family after working 100+ hours a week and almost never getting days off. The tcgplayer valuation looking at the lowest available prices where at least 4 of the card was available from a single seller and with a low but reasonable shipping cost, is a quick and dirty method that I will use when busy or when posting an initial valuation post here to get things started. It often ends up similar to ebay, but not quite as low as ebay often ends up being, though there are occasions where the lowest available playsets on ebay are in fact going for more on ebay than on tcgplayer, which harkens to the much larger customer base on ebay than a site like tcgplayer (or really any other online store for that matter). This last update and future updates will focus on ebay though, and I will do my best to also include both the valuation as a low end cost to purchase the cards, as well as what one would expect to get in cash out of selling the sellable cards($2+/card) on ebay. From my own end, being a top-rated powerseller on ebay, does reduce my fees, and my use for ebay was mostly for the purpose of selling off excess cards where my main focus was the shop itself inventory wise, so pricing a little bit lower on ebay to get the cards to move quicker was often my method there, while still matching the low end at the shop I sold at (something very few shops will do these days, and which many thought I was crazy to do (because of the low margins) when doing so at the shop especially when the shop also got 15% of my sales which was approx. my ebay cost to sell on there at the time. Anyhow, I'm rambling a bit, so I will leave it there for now. Just some interesting info on the topic that I thought some might be interested to know for my own valuation metrics when selling cards.
What I would often see players do for great sets like this, in our local community, is that they would buy a case or two (or a box or two depending upon their available funds). Open them all, and then pull out what they wanted for themselves for standard play either for decks then, or potential playables for later, and then work at trading off the rest to those in their local magic communities to get other cards they were looking for at the time (often the best way to maximize your box value), or, worst case, they would trade in the excess cards they couldn't trade off to me for my 2/3rds trade rate (I imagine plenty of other stores have a similar trade rate, hopefully at least, even if they restrict a bit more what they are willing to trade for), to get the rest of what they needed. If you have no outlet like that, then yeah, something like ebay or tcgplayer to sell off the cards (or here to trade/sell cards for that matter), to get cash out of them to use then to get what you need, or to help pay for the initial purchase cost of the boxes/cases.
For additional comparison, the prices I will be listing what I pulled from my KTK boxes (which had some really good boxes, and a couple really aweful boxes among them, yay for variance) would be those listed in my last valuation update based on ebay values. If I could get close to tcgmid prices that would be awesome, but I never have and wouldn't try because I prefer selling things quickly vs. getting maximum value out of each card. So feel free to use my latest update as a more accurate representation of the "value" of the cards/box while also keeping in mind that the cash-out value is listed at the bottom for comparison to those just looking to bust boxes for singles and sell them for cash on ebay for example.
Ah, when I think "TCG Player low", I think of the lowest price for a NM playset (including shipping), so I'm not really thinking the TCG Low that pops up.
When I say "TCG Low" I mean, quite literally, the "Low" price listed on TCGPlayer.com when you look at a given card. It's not the best measure of what a card is worth, but it's a decent lower bound for value and makes for a reasonable estimation of what your expected return will be after fees and expenses when selling on TCGPlayer or eBay at NM Playset Reasonable Shipping prices.

Sagu Mauler will never be worth more than $2-3 unless some stupid enabler gets printed next set (doubtful for a 6 mana chunk of meat). It has zero implications in legacy and modern and casual and it eats Disdainful Stroke like a champ. If you cast it morphed, it dies to Bile Blight, Drown in Sorrow, Utter End, Anger of the Gods, Magma Jet, etc. 6 mana - you cast Sagu Mauler. 6 mana - I cast Elspeth and minus it and pass to you.
It's not a good card.
Do keep in mind that as a late-game threat (i.e. when you have 8 lands in play), you can:
-Cast it face down, avoiding Disdainful Stroke and leaving counter mana up
-Have it be smaller than Elspeth's -3 can kill during your opponent's turn
-Be able to flip it up in response to any of the above removal spells, saving it
Also, if you are running a deck with any other worthwhile morphs, you can run any of them out for 3 mana and force your opponent to expend a removal spell before you hit five on the chance that it's Sagu.

The late game threats of other decks is far greater.
Against Abzan: Walled by monstrous fleecemane and not be worried about life because of siege rhino/courser/sorin mass life gain. Wait for elspeth or wingmate roc
Against Jeskai tempo: morphed mauler will get destroyed so many different ways. Between rabblemaster and mantis rider and sarkhan, pressure is too heavy for late game for sagu mauler to do much.
Against Jeskai combo: Either they hit the combo or they don't. Unmorphed Sagu mauler probably won't make a difference
Against G devotion: Heh, hornets op.
Hell you don't have to take my word for it, just go to mtgtop8 and search sagu mauler in standard.
Not a whole lot, though I think part of it is that the "Post-PT" spike has caused some cards to settle. Going by TCG Mid, I'm still getting an average pack value of $3.85 for the rare/mythic slot. I guess that five days ago, the average pack value was $4.46, according to my analysis from the first page.
It's still absurdly high at this point, and I think it's a fool's bet to buy sealed product right now unless you can crack it and offload it really quickly or are willing to wait 5 years as an investment in sealed product.

It's not the best measure of what a card is worth, but it's a decent lower bound for value and makes for a reasonable estimation of what your expected return will be after fees and expenses when selling on TCGPlayer or eBay at NM Playset Reasonable Shipping prices.

I don't think there will be a good enabler though. Just something like Trail of Mystery and Secret Plans that will be non-constructed playable.
I do think Sagu Mauler is good though because Abzan midrange is pretty much removal.dec.

Today's EV has seemed to slip. (Finally)
10/02/2014: $92.07
10/07/2014: $92.36
10/13/2014: $97.26
10/17/2014: $80.70
Not a whole lot, though I think part of it is that the "Post-PT" spike has caused some cards to settle. Going by TCG Mid, I'm still getting an average pack value of $3.85 for the rare/mythic slot. I guess that five days ago, the average pack value was $4.46, according to my analysis from the first page.
It's still absurdly high at this point, and I think it's a fool's bet to buy sealed product right now unless you can crack it and offload it really quickly or are willing to wait 5 years as an investment in sealed product.
Went to a new shop from a friend's recommendation, DQ'ed for willful violation of CR 100.6b.
Have played duals? I have PucaPoints for them!
