I'm surprised there's no real talk of Blood Baron of Vizkopa in here. He's been rising, rising, rising and he's now at $18 on TCGplayer.
At that, buy @$12? And regarding chandra, Frank LePore calls her the "best chandra ever" here (not that the bar was set super high on that one), so she may hold for a little while at that price.

Just because she is the best chandar does not mean it is worth your soul. She is no $20 card as she only does 1 damage or gives you a chance to play a card draw or remove it from game. That is no Liliana or Jace. 1-2 in a deck is nice but not all decks want to use it. She will hold a high value as not much from M14 was valuable and is not being opened as much. I see her settleing around $15 among players and shops keeping the insane price just to recoup some money.
Any thoughts on Alms Beast gaining some value? It is really decent in Dega builds with Erebos or just heavy control.
I only have two of the new Chandra's, but it's taking a lot of my willpower not to buylist these things at $25.00. My SELL trigger finger itches when something buylists for double what I paid within two weeks (not bragging, just unexpected gains).
I bought them for play, but it looks like she is a 3-of at least so maybe I can't even play her correctly....

Alms Beast was an intro pack rare. It may gain value, but I don't really like the risk/reward split.
You're leaving out the most important part of Chandra's +1 -- the creature that's pinged can't block that turn. That is exactly what a red deck wants -- something to help push damage through. And her zero ability might as well say "draw a card" in a red deck, and card draw is something a red deck desperately wants but to which it has little direct access. However, I agree with your overall assessment of her when compared to Lili and Jace as well as your longer-term price assessment.

My Chandra is in my Cube, otherwise I'd be selling!
(Just did a 30-card update IRL but not to my online lists, so you won't see it if you click the links below. Tomorrow...)
Not at all.... its price is hyper-inflated and isn't justified because it's not THAT good of a card.
she's actually quite good. i went back to the WW spoiler threads and people were saying the same thing about JTMS. now chandra, pyromaster is absolutely no JTMS but she IS the best red walker to date. honestly i think all her cards are good but wizards kept misscosting her imo. i absolutely believe Chandra ablaze would've seen more play if she cost 4 or even 5. and every color has card draw just in different ways.

Keeping a foil of a 35 dollar planeswalker thats grossly inflated isn't a sound financial decision. The card isn't 35 dollars good. It's simply not worth that price tag and I expect within a month she will return where she previously was.

Did you think the same when Liliana hit that 35 mid? Right now Chandra is seeing play in two major formats and both formats her deck is top tier that is big game.
She also holds the same distinction liliana does being the only very good mono-color planeswalker of that color.

Chandra in no way sees the amount of play and success that Liliana of the Veil ever did. She also is an incredible 3 cmc planeswalker, which matters much more in Modern considering it hits the curve perfectly of so many decks. Simply being 'the only good planeswalker of that color' doesn't add any value to a card. If a planeswalker is good enough decks will run it if its hybrid, 3 color, 4 color, 5 color.
Simply speaking, the card has nowhere to go. It's not a 40 dollar planeswalker, I highly doubt it would hit that. If the poster I quoted above wanted to make a financially sound decision it would be to sell it now. If he wants to use it in his deck, fine so be it, but if he doesn't need it I think it would be ridiculous to keep a card that will lose a majority of its value when it rotates out of standard.

That does limit the planeswalker though a 5 color would be heavily restricted in possible decks. My point is last modern GP she placed with multiple jund lists in the top 8. So calling the card not as good as its price suggests is a bit of a fallacy. If the card continues to see the play it has it will hold value somewhat.

I think you just missunderstood what I meant to say (and this is my fault for wording it this way). She's good, but she's not 40 dollars good.

I just think since the amount of m14 being busted is basically 0 from this point on more supply being introduced to the market is not happening. I expect a slight dip in price but i dont consider the card a 40 dollar card since the mid on tcg is still 35.
If I don't plan on playing Chandra, I am getting rid of her. There haven't been any Planeswalkers in Core Sets that have only been printed once. Even if Chandra is Modern playable, she will more than likely be reprinted in next years Core Set and give everyone another chance to crack her.
still, untill next coreset its still a long time to go... and she is already on 22€ on magiccardmarket.. still rising.
im glad i got the last one i needed for 17€.. and the one before for 9€... i wish i would have played standard at that time so i could realise how good she is earlier..
I would sell any non-foil I had now if I had any, but I would not sell any foils. This card is going to be played in Modern, and pretty much every cube is going to want a foil as well. I find the Liliana comparison apropos. She isn't as good as Liliana, but I could easily see her holding $25 long term. Of course she will likely be reprinted next year, so as soon as that happens, well, Baneslayer anyone?
Chandra up to $35 now, Reckoner up to almost $20 again, Ash Zealot and Chandra's Phoenix around $4 (tcg mid). tcg low on Phoenix seems to have doubled, even with 3 printings and being an intro deck rare.
I just wanted to throw this out there. I won my FNM last night with Fleecemain Lion 90% of the time. Many decks can't handle him at all. You have to play more dudes to protect him from Cellestial Flare, but that is what Voice of Resurgence is for. I find Fabio Lion to poorly underrated. He is an auto 4 in a deck and I never side board him out, thus he sees more play. Although I play him as a 7 drop to get him on roid rage.
I see him going to $10 soon as he is great for FNM busting.
I had a bit of trouble with monstrous fleecemane last night. The only thing I had to combat it was blood baron (which works), or killing it early (which doesn't always happen)

It just depends on the popularity of GW. Doom Blade/etc. in response to paying the Monstrous cost keeps the powerlevel in check. The card is awesome and an insane 2drop but being a rare will keep it below $10 unless GW is a big % of the meta.
It's an instant speed 5/5 trampler for 4. Wtf do you people want seriously? It has applications in populate/ above the curve beats decks, or in Bant control/ flash. I seriously think anyone mad at this card for any reason other than losing an attacker to instant speed wurm, should go home and make their own awesome card game and leave the rest of us alone.
