Valuetown in EDH/Commander. I think that's the only place you'll ever see this card aside from the kitchen table... though that's not all bad considering it's mythic rare.
I noticed Primeval Bounty has moved up a little bit. It was at a low of $12 a play set and currently is at closer to $16 a play set. I even saw a play set go for $20+, but I think that was a bidding war. I know the bump is small, but the % is decent.
I personally bought them for GW Standard mirrors and against Control; not sure what others' uses for them are?
I sold mine at $7 a piece a few weeks ago so if they are $4 that is just a mild bump on a sinking ship. I see no reason for the uptick. Dead in standard and just another expensive valuetron for edh
Most of M14's EV came from Mythics while RTR's value is comprised of a good mix of rares and mythics. As such it was a bad idea to purchase m14 packs as creacking packs to chase mythics will genearly result in low ev.
All sets eventually reach the same EV, at which point packs stop being opened. It took a lot more RTR being opened to reach that point than it did M14.
They then go up over time as the set cycles out of print.
RDW wins the day 1 SCG open every year because people are lacking new cards for their decks and have not been able to test anything reasonably. That win means basically nothing though, because the meta and deck hierarchy will be set by the upcoming PT (and modo and GP Top8s after that) and I bet you the pros (which I meant by the highrollers) won't be showing up with RDW since it's one dimensional deck built from shallow card pool. RDW can spike a good finish every now and then but it's not a repeat performer, which makes it tier 2 at best by definition.
Yeah, exactly. A lot of this is semantics but the meta is currently the epitome of raw/new. Seemed like a slam-dunk that RDW, GW, and UW would rule for at the very least the first week and maybe a couple more. But that doesn't mean there isn't good stuff out there. Heck, personally I'm having a ton of success with 2color UB Control as Opportunity + Thoughtseize w/ Counters more than makes up for no Sphinx's Revelation and thus an easier mana base is pwning aggro and definitely a favorite against 3color control. Point being we have a long, long way to go. At least there's a Pro Tour coming up but even then adjustments, especially in U/X control, will be made.

A 6/6 flyer for 4 is pretty good, and one expects he will be even better in a metagame where Lingering Souls doesn't run rampant to make him a weak Abyss instead of a legitimate threat.
It's an instant speed 5/5 trampler for 4. Wtf do you people want seriously? It has applications in populate/ above the curve beats decks, or in Bant control/ flash. I seriously think anyone mad at this card for any reason other than losing an attacker to instant speed wurm, should go home and make their own awesome card game and leave the rest of us alone.
Ramp always makes a strong showing at States. What is a better thing to ramp into than Primeval Bounty? It might actually be a 4x in this format.
The problem is that Bounty doesn't actually kill anyone or protect you on its own. People ramp into things that finish the game - like Primeval Titan and friends. I expect an expensive enabler like Bounty to see more casual play and no real tournament results. While mythics of this nature can do reasonably well, they never attain the heights of cards that are both.

Garruk, caller of beasts would like a word. Primeval bounty is trash. Casual players love it as do EDH players potentially but it is not going to be a powerhouse in standard while sphinx's revelation is legal.
Whether RDW has staying power or not will be determined in the future as the metagame shifts. Can't really compare it to chandra true but it is a solid card nonetheless that has a lot of potential to grow. I imagine in a deck utilizing devotion for red would use zealot and BTE sure they don't work the best together but you don't always draw both and zealot has the better body with first strike.

"Yawgmoth," Freyalise whispered as she set the bomb, "now you will pay for your treachery."
I wish my 4/4s with haste and first strike that acted as Goblin Warchiefs were better and didn't die to instants and overshadowed all other 4 drops in the format. And that they had evasion too, and some way to dodge wrath effects.
$3.00 discrepancy between Chandra's TCGplayer price (lowest + ship) and SCG buylist.
What does SCG know...
agreed...but scg has not had them in stock in quite a while, although they have japanese foil version. and while the core set version will come down I really don't think the SDCC version will.
If the store owner says that I can't trade in the premises, I'll just go outside. If he says that I can't trade within 10m of his premises, I'll go to 11 meters. If he says that he doesn't want to see me trading, I will put a basket over his head and continue trading.
Yes, he's a local legend. He's only known to take his clothes off before he goes into the Ladies' Lockerroom. Nobody knows what he does in there because he's invisible, but it's almost certainly tons of masturbating.
what 45$!? thats crazy! I think anybody not using it should trade/sell
The influence SCG has on card markets doesn't come from their sell prices. It comes from their buy prices.
They could move their Chandra price to $100 and no one would buy. If they moved their buy price to $50, you bet your booty the other sellers would follow suit.

Or just general picks of powerful cards under $3 like Boon Satyr or Soldier of the Pantheon is where the $$/best speculative buys are though you might be waiting a few months or in Steam Augury's case, 12 (when Jace, Architect of Thought rotates).
Thanks to Gabgabdevo for the awesome sig image!
I'm always looking for foil Madcap Skills and Ghitu Fire-Eater, [trade thread link forthcoming]

Also, Chandra's price at 45 really isn't sustainable in my opinion, just like every other card that was over 40 dollars right after a rotation.

If I recall correctly, Garruk, Primal Hunter was up around $35-$40 when wolf-run first hit the scene.

She's Legacy/Modern playable and thus being priced in the hopes that she'll climb that high.
We'll see if this price sticks.

for blood baron, is the increase simply due to standard? I haven't heard anything about it in other formats.

Only Standard and nothing else. Surely.
