I know this is modern huge gainer thread but with the confirmation that remand is reprinted in the JvV duel deck, the price will tank hard.
You know, I think that it won't actually tank that hard. Maybe to $8 at maximum. I have a feeling Wizards didn't print too much value in the Vraska deck on purpose to prop up Remand's price.

Up until rotation Jace will probably stay in the $12-$15, Vraska will tank hard to $4-$6, which leaves $5-$10 for remand and gives the resellers a little profit. After rotation Jace will drop to maybe $8-$10, Vraska maybe $5, and Remand might actually tick up a little. There will be no desire for people to crack these for resale. Once the next duel deck comes out I can see Remand holding at $10.
They most likely won't reprint Pyromancer Ascension in a standard set unless it's a return to Zendikar. It's a quest, it's part of a cycle (Archmage Ascension, Bloodchief Ascension, Beastmaster Ascension, Luminarch Ascension), and the cycle refers to stuff specific to Zendikar. They might reprint it in some sort of supplementary product, but those don't push prices quite as much. It isn't the sort of card you'd put on the front of a duel deck or premium deck, so speculating (especially on foils) is probably pretty safe.
Doesn't matter. There are no block-specific keywords on the card, and the name itself doesn't have any ties to Zendikar. There is really nothing tying this card to a plane in a vacuum.
Besides, there's precedence for breaking up cycles in reprints - Tenth Edition had exactly three of the five Fifth Dawn Beacons.
People who buy the duel decks at MSRP to flip almost never make a profit... you can only really do that if you're a dealer and can get them at $50 per box of 6 or whatever the rate is.
Also, I don't want to nitpick, but Aven Mindcensor is still marginally higher average value than Cursecatcher at the moment (11.73 vs 11.97), so that's technically two other modern uncommons more valuable than remand. =D I personally don't like the modern Merfolk deck, but since it's the only complete modern deck I have on MTGO, that's what I play. It's just not really that good. I can't attest to it in Legacy though.
-edit-
I haven't seen any mention of it yet, but Primeval Titan is nearly $20 average on TCGplayer now ($30 for promo), which is twice as much (or more) than what it was at the beginning of january - I know I picked up a bunch at $6 a little over three months ago, and I'm not really seeing why they're so high now (amulet deck?)

Prime Time dropped a bit after the EDH ban. It is seeing play in Scapeshift builds. Its also in the Travis Woo green devotion deck. Probably also a casual favorite. 1 T1 deck, 2 T2 decks, and casual pressure is probably sufficient.
If you want to get into Modern and missed the boat on big staples, these decks are fun and not nearly as expensive as others.
Serum Visions just hit $5 on tcgplayer for average! lol
I have a hard time believing people will buy at that price, but we'll see! Serum Visions Fifth Dawn foils are only twice as expensive; seems like a bargain to me.

This is the type of rare that could show up in a vs. deck not as the "premium" cards on the front, but just as one of the cards in a deck. The only restriction with these decks is the two mythics on the front, rares show up in both decks in the box. Crap the rares inside the coming duel deck are quite nice, not extremely high value rares but most of them are playable and wanted by at least casual players.
It would only have to make sense for the deck it was in though, I mean remand just got shown off in the Jace vs. Vraska deck and that is a card that costs more right now then a Pyromancer Ascension.
@ Comments about Prime Time:
It is played in the following modern decks, Scapeshift, Mono-Green Devotion, and the Amulet deck, wether or not those decks are tier 1 is irrelevant to demand. The card sees enough play to have a decent demand, also the ban on EDH isn't 100%. Thanks to the nature of EDH plenty of playgroups have their own banned list, and allow Primeval. I personally have traded Primeval to guys that mostly play EDH way after the card was banned.
I don't think Pyro ever gets reprinted in a Vs deck, simply because it's be so hard to trigger with the design constraints of the product. Tons of 1- and 2- ofs in those things.
I have heard vague rumors of a moustache-dispensing vending machine in a distant laundromat, across the street from a tattoo parlor. However, this information is shaky, and time is of the essence.

True, I didn't think about that I guess a modern event deck would be the best bet slightly "budget" Storm deck or something.
Would foil Vraska the Unseen retain their price? I'm not so sure how much they will drop as the large majority prefers the original artwork for both Vraska and Jace. I am holding on to a few so I was wondering if I need to get rid of them before they tank.
Splinter Twin has been steadily (albeit slowly) increasing for a few weeks now, and seems like its poised to jump if the deck does well in the next few tournaments, right? Or is it just wishful thinking on my part?

Rest in RIP My Signature, I guess. 2015-2016, we hardly knew ye.
Total side note but I like how people are discussing running this over itself.
Well, it has to be said that Kolaghan is clearly better than Kolaghan. Considering what BR decks usually want and how stiff the competition in this guild is, there is no way that I would run Kolaghan over Kolaghan! Kolaghan might make it in as the sixth guild card or so. Kolaghan on the other hand ranks several places below that.
It was so funny to me when they described this as a downgrade to the original Zurgo during the Pax East panel. I was thinking if this is a downgrade, they should really "downgrade" all legendary creatures. Haha.
My deck designing is quite concise at this point:
1. Come up with deck idea
2. Realize this idea is somehow fundamentally similar to another deck I have or that is commonly played in my group
3. Decide I don't want to disassemble one of my existing decks
4. Give up and do nothing
I don't see the point of this new shroud mechanic. It's strictly worse than Hexproof. Threshold is pretty bad too, Delirium is a much better mechanic and probably easier to activate.
Otherwise this card is a pretty neat guy. Dodges removal and grows into a Primal Huntbeast. 3/5
Non-foils of Stirring Wildwood haven't moved a ton (about a buck), but foils are pushing 12+
Not likely due to modern, but I mention it because I think the whole cycle is on the move with the exception of Lavaclaw Reaches. Though I did see reaches as a 1-of in some 3-1/4-0 daily decks, so who knows. The card still has casual demand, so I might be surprised.

It's already gone up 10 dollars in the last week or two, I doubt it will rise a whole lot more.

Evil is even, truth is an odd number, and death is a full stop.
Another card to watch is Kitchen Finks...with the Death`Shaman banned its starting to see play again (very good again Naya and company), he was very strong prior to Deathrite...and he's even better now that he's gone in modern now.
Food for thought seeing price's are starting to increase on the MM reprints ect, could be nothing though.

Well barring more reprints for a while, I imagine Kitchen Finks will be on the move eventually no matter what. It's still one of the best 3 mana creatures ever made in the history of the game.

Of course core sets have their own "specific counters" e.g. phylactery, pressure, lore but those are generally unique to one card.
edit: wrt JvV, my predictions are
Jace $10
Vraska $5
Remand $10
The EV of the deck will be above MSRP, but flipping those PWs is difficult.

Past in Flames is played to some degree in Legacy, the others are not. I let my copies of PA go, I think they will fall in price.
