Anyone's thoughts on the aftermath of Day 1 PT? Looking at price movement this morning...
-Was not expecting every version of Blood Moon to go up.
- Teferi's new price is insane.
-Azusa's new price is insane.
- Living End/ Bloodghast/Primeval Titan/Storm pieces all on the rise.
I think that a lot of speculators are going to get their lunch eaten by buying heavily into anti-meta decks such as Blue Moon that are going to be subpar/lackluster on Monday when people are aware of them and will begin playing appropriate hate and counterstrategies for them.
I feel that the metagame can adapt to these strategies, so I caution everyone: Do NOT buy at these prices! Wait for the inevitable pullback.

Bitterblossom should return slightly back down. I can't see the demand sitting at $60-70 that pros don't want to use. Not saying it will drop a ton but can't keep up that price tag if no one is currently playing the deck.
I have a order of purchase slip for a Teferi (about 5 days ago) for under $7 bucks (EDH buy for a friend)...what pushed this sole-copy user to its new depth? I'm very curious on this one.

It's played as a 1-2 of in the Blue Moon anti-meta deck, got shown on camera, and some speculator decided to instigate a run on TCG Player.

Hmm, thanks...I guess it'll be a short spike before wrestling back at the normal price...I can't see this one holding for very long (he's very "U" intensive in EDH with minimal support from 2-3+ color mage's), and only 2 copies in one Modern deck is pretty self explanatory for settlement.
anyone feel free to correct me on this but it looks as if Serum Visions is about to become the first $4 common in modern. Already is on SCG and is creeping up there on TCGplayer.

Do you think possibly reprinting it in Journey into Nyx will affect it's value? And if it isn't reprinted, what kind of price can it get as time goes by?

I can say for certain that this has been rising. I sold multiple playsets on ebay earlier this week for about $11.50/playset. I listed some more playsets earlier today and have already sold one at $14/playset. I won't be surprised if the rest are sold by morning.
As far as reprinting, I wouldn't be surprised to see it. It was one of the un/commons that was eligible for reprint in Modern Masters but wasn't included. I would imagine that the price would decline quite a bit if it was reprinted, but it would probably remain a ~$2 card since it would see standard play as well.

well they need to reprint it but with what they've been doing with scry Theros block I doubt it. Seems to me they like cheap one mana spells at scry 1 vs. higher mana costs for scry 2 or 3. could very well see it in conspiracy as I'm sure there's going to be modern reprints in that if not that then MM2 in 2015 which by then could be like an $8 common cause it has never been reprinted (not counting that promo one) in anything.
This format is absolutely ridiculous money-wise. It seems to me like any card that's seeing competitive play has be peaking. I see no reason not to buy staples if you can now. Someone please give me a good reason not to expect Scalding Tarns to reach $100 and Goyfs to reach $200 before a reprint.
It's pretty obvious that this format is growing stupid-fast price-wise, but how long will that continue? The bubble has to burst at some point and I cannot for the life of me picture that happening anytime soon. I sincerely cannot think of a reason not to invest in the format staples.
Sorry for the rant, but it just seemed worth saying. Specific cards I'm seeing as good prospects right now are Snapcaster, Spellskite, Vedalken Shackles, and whatever shows up on camera tomorrow.

The issue is that the player base is likely 3-5x larger than it was when those sets came out originally. That expansion is a good thing, but its leading to a massive demand increase, causing the price rise.

I doubt it, as Serum refers to the plane of Mirrodin.
When Theros was being spoiled, I actually thought WOTC was reprinting Serum Visions as the spoiled art of later Omenspeaker was teasingly close. Since Serum Visions cannot be reprinted due to flavor issues, what about an entirely new card name that is close to Theros's flavor? We've already seen a Deglamer "reprint" in Unravel the AEther at uncommon.

Probably Finkel and Budde being two of Magic's historic greats piloting U/R Storm to respectable finishes.
It was getting hard to find and is generally included in Legacy Storm as well, so I think that card was due for a bit of an upward correction.

Edit: also $6 on Channelfireball
anything with a mana cost of zero. That also including any land, artifacts, any of the pacts, etc. pretty underrated imo.
What might I look at as a price for that critter at the moment?
