Elves made top 16 at the SCG Legacy Open this week again. Looks like Glimpse of Nature is a real card now (as I've been saying for a while). Similarly, Firestorm made the finals. There's been a lot of talk about that card recently too. I think both are poised for some gains, guys.

WoTC, thank you for finally announcing the Modern format, an eternal format where everyone can participate.

I can definitely see some upside to the cards you mention. Firestorm is also a staple for many Dredge decks. But I can see where other decks could capitalize on discard direct damage.

Any man who reads too much and uses his own brain too little falls into lazy habits of thinking. -Albert Einstein
A constructed Miracle deck got in the top 4 of a SCG event. However, it doesn't run Scroll Rack or Personal Tutor. Perhaps this will cause these two to start trending down?
Would now be the time to pick up Hypergenesis? Is this deck looking to put in some strong results in the months to come or is it a flash in the pan and what is the expected growth potential of this card? If Griselbrand gets banned, will this deck tank?

I wouldn't expect it to do too much considering its banned in Modern.

I can see this go up to $5 if it sees continued success in the SCG circuit as supplies is very limited.
If Gristlebrand gets banned, hypergenesis is no good.
Wizards did say one AVR card was on their watch list and likely will be banned on the 20th.
I thought temporal mastery but seeing how gristelbrand has been preforming I'm 90% sure now they meant him.
Its sad but I think he is the most "Unfair" creature can in a deck that uses a 15/15 that autowins when it attacks, a 10/10 pro everything, and of course the less played fatties like everyone has haste elemental, Mrs no more spells, and the such.
This guy is the best creature to cheat into play in the format atm.
I have been predicting this. It's not Show and tell making certain decks unfair in legacy. It was the new addition of Griselbrand. Being able to cheat him in and replenish your hand is so strong.
Most of the decks that run him will still be fine with Emrakul and Progenitus.
If they ban the enabler (e.g. Show and Tell) then they can print even more powerful fatties in the future without having to ban them too.
I wish they would just not ban anything but give the format time to adapt, but if anything must go my bet is on Show and Tell.
you say that but
Hypergenesis
show and tell
sneak attack
entomb/reanimate
eureka
would all have to get the banhammer. Show and tell isn't even strictly better than any of those, eureka arguably and that is it.
Griselbrand should get the banhammer. he's just too good. Killing it is not enough, because you'll have 7 brand new cards in hands...
It's not even just that. I don't play legacy but people who do have said you basically have to beat him AND the top 14 cards in someones deck. If you try to remove him they can always use his ability to dig for a FOW or other free counter (misdirection etc) so it gets very difficult to do anything if he sticks.
Show and Tell is definitely the problematic card here, and not Griselbrand, although obviously the latter is indeed exceptionally strong. There's no denying it. Still, it's pretty much like the "ban Vengevine" argument imo.
To keep this more on topic, let's say it'd be ill-advised to invest in SnT before the 20th...

The problem is vengevine only had one enabler.
Show and tell is just a forerunner to quite a few cards with similar effects.
I don't think its going to be banned because that would result in alot of other cards having to get the banhammer.
Basically they'll have to ban every card I listed 3 posts ago.
