If they changed the rule it would kill a couple of fringe legacy decks (like the Nightmare Effect) which would seem a shame for the sake changing a rule which makes absolutely no difference the majority of the time... Plus it seems bizarre to me that Bosium Strip would shoot up even if they did - surely it isn't aggressively costed enough to be good :/
I don't think they'll change the rule. Which makes me think there's some secret tech out there with Bosium Strip, but Past in Flames seems better.

WoTC, thank you for finally announcing the Modern format, an eternal format where everyone can participate.
I'm not saying you shouldn't shuffle and pick if your opponent agrees to it, I'm just saying that the argument that Wizards will make some potentially game-breaking rules alterations involving graveyard order is a long shot. There is a viable alternative for people, so why is a change necessary.
I don't see how die rolls could possibly work when you have a large graveyard.
So now we have to keep a computer with us whenever we play?
that isn't reasonable at all
Nope. You can use d10's for anything 10 or less, d20's for anything 20 or less, and multiple d10's or d6's or whatever you want to use for anything larger than that. Ive seen it done plenty of times, its simple, its easy, and it works 100% fine, no need for a computer at all.
So, Mental Misstep is banned. Interesting. I expect there will be some financial ramifications beyond the immediate one...
SO MANY DECKS ARE REAL AGAIN...I'M SO EXCITED. GOBLINS HERE I COME! Seriously though, look for cards like Exploration, Goblin Lackey, Goblin Piledriver, Manabond, and so on to make a serious resurgence. Basically, think of your favorite deck that Misstep screwed over, and the key cards in that deck will probably rise in price.
In summation.....Star Trek wins a prolonged naval battle against superior, yet less technologically advanced, numbers, with Picard leading the assault, while Kirk takes your soul by laying out Solo and probably his manservant Chewy as well, before impregnating and ditching your Princess.
Goblins is a deck.
CounterTop is a deck.
Vial-based aggro that isn't Merfolk is a deck.
High Tide is a deck.
Storm is a deck.
High Tide is a deck.
Lands is a deck.
I stand to benefit from this a lot haha. Someone looking through my binder of decent stuff once described it as "cards that suck because of Mental Misstep". Seems good. In terms of predictions, I think Candelabra might gain some more, Time Spiral will be back up. Meditate might gain a bit. Exploration seems good right now. Goblins seem good right now. Basically we're reverting to the legacy metagame of pre-NPH, but I think that Stoneblade and RUG will continue to be real decks, just not as good as they once were.

I agree with this completely. I think this might also effect jace values as they now are not as good as they use to be after the ban.

Random Opponent: Playing against 12 Post Feels like trying to win in Yugioh with no super secret rares.
If the store owner says that I can't trade in the premises, I'll just go outside. If he says that I can't trade within 10m of his premises, I'll go to 11 meters. If he says that he doesn't want to see me trading, I will put a basket over his head and continue trading.
Yes, he's a local legend. He's only known to take his clothes off before he goes into the Ladies' Lockerroom. Nobody knows what he does in there because he's invisible, but it's almost certainly tons of masturbating.
Nice. They bumped their Lackey price $2 in the last 10 minutes
Haven't changed Goblin Lackey's price in three weeks (including last night). Candelabra (and other High Tide cards) are going to be in immediate high demand.

Random number generator?
Anywho, when are my two playsets of Thought Lash going to cash in?
I am petitioning to get players to stop complaining about mythic rarity. Sig this to join the cause.

Yep. And High Tide is another great home for Snapcaster Mage.
