With the way cards are now, prices will go up anways no matter the meta. Karakas will always get better as a defense and an offense card, meaning with new legends to stop; and new legends to combo. I wouldn't be surprised if it reached half of tabernacle's price. Things are going to get worse, and I mean worse as in cards being insanely valuable. Look at Invoke Prejudice. Generals are very expensive with lady evangela climbing as well. I disagree with those who seem to insist on values behaving based on metas, and bannings. It has some effect, but it isn't the ultimate arbiter people think it is with EVERY card. It is with cards like tolarian academy, and it isn't with cards like moxes. I see bitterblossom picking up even if it does not become unbanned. It is still fine in legacy and people love i t for casual, or edh. With time it's going to rise no matter what. If jacques le vert got attention in some pro tournament player's casual edh build, hitting $50 over night would be no huge surprise anymore. Make use of these forums, they are a step ahead of the masses which trail behind the mental processes that occur here.
The only thing really stopping port from going up higher and higher is a reprint, I can see port being a judge foil in the nearish future but I'm not sure if wiz wants port in standard, same with Karakas.
Even if a judge foil happens, I can't really see it bringing down the price of the original by much. It might help stem the tide, but they'd need to reprint it in greater quantities than a judge foil in order to suppress the original's price. Best-case scenario, it gives people an option relatively close to the original price. Though I imagine it'd be more of a Wasteland situation where the judge foil would be in kind of a middle ground in terms of price between the original foil and non-foil printings.
Agreed, card probably has $150 all over it if D&T continues to put up decent results. I have one (got it for my birthday) and am considering getting more judge foils as I think they look nicer than the legends one.
A powerful if somewhat niche ability
Me too. Though, only thing I miss from the old one is the flavor text. That would've been nice on the judge promo as well.
Card is very useful. I agree that it's quite undervalued atm. Being able to do silly things like bounce opposing Thalia's is still very good. I certainly would like another 1 or 2 to finish my 3-of set. Would be nice to be able to play DnT too, should I ever want to.

Definitely agree. Every card kinda just goes up over time regardless of meta. I hardly ever have a reason to let go of cards these days, since it just rebounds/goes up.
Reprints the one card that people point to when saying that art objectifies women.
Well done Wizards.
Liliana does not objectify women in any way at all. We have gotten to a point in our society that every single picture of a women must be objectifying a women in some negative way......blah blah blah.. That is not the case. (((Sarcasm)))Picture of a girl drinking a milk shake, must be sex related and putting women down, picture of girl sitting on a beach, picture of a girl driving a car, picture of a girl on the moon at a new space station.)))
You have a picture of an attractive strong power women who girls dress up as for anime conventions. What more do you want? The picture is fine, happy to see a reprint. Sick of of seeing people claim that everything in existence must be putting women down. Then all I have to do is replace the word "women" with anything else to get the same mentality; fish, cats, arabs, blacks, jews, men, environment, whites, chinese, old people, etc. It doesn't matter what word I put in. Stop sucking life out of everything man. That artwork of her is awesome. Stop putting stuff down man. Just stop. If the picture was really as negative as you claim she would totally nude, in a kitchen, making sandwiches and giving blow jobs. Her abilities would be horrible as well. +1 do nothing -2 do nothing -6 do nothing. Instead liliana of the veil is an amazing planeswalker comparable to jace, the mind sculpter with great art to appreciate.
My suggestion listen to some comedy radio for a while, pandora is free, youtube is free there is something out there for you. ***** go make fun of somebody. The whole world is so serious and campaigning for some cause, or someones rights, everything is a hate crime, racist, sexist. blah blah blah.
"O no mcdonalds must be slandering a hate crime against skinny people every time they make a big mac." hahaha jeeze You're just someone perpetuating another groups negative perspective that they've made you believe is correct. Look at the picture for a hour and tell me what's wrong with it? I don't see anything.
I have heard vague rumors of a moustache-dispensing vending machine in a distant laundromat, across the street from a tattoo parlor. However, this information is shaky, and time is of the essence.

I do agree with you there, but remember Tabernacle at Pendrell Vale, Invoke Prejudice and Lady Evangela are on the reserved list, and Karakas is not. It was reprinted already... so I feel it's safe from reprints for a little while, hence good timing for a possible climb.

Another huge yet unmentioned point: Karakas is an uncommon. There are far more Karakas out there than any of the other listed cards.

True but with over 25 million MTG players on the planet so in "real" theory the're far less Karakas then you can comprehend, and the DCI foil variant has no impact on the numbers I'm throwing out there...beside Karakas is actually a "super" staple (3-4 deep), neither of the others even come close.
Karakas is the most played legend card quantity wise. Tabernacle? 1 of that costs you the same amount as 4 karakas. Tabernacle is also a fringe card. If you want to compare it to something else in terms of uncommon there's mana drain at around double the price of karakas although mana drain is a U1 while karakas is a U2 (I think that means 2 appeared per sheet for karakas and 1 for mana drain although I'm not sure....old rarities are weird.)
There aren't 25 million magic players. The number of MTG players is around half that number.

"Yawgmoth," Freyalise whispered as she set the bomb, "now you will pay for your treachery."
You're believing in just a "internet" figure...right, I learned in my second year of business in this game that you take that figure and place a x2-x3 multiplier on it do to the NON-Registered (as you both are placing it, laughable) competitive mage's that fill the gaps in the world, then you take the number of collectors and they can fill 3-1 per mammal on the planet that enjoys this game (just the ones that play)...I think I might be throwing a large number in the pond but I won't live in a naive nature (or ignorance) on the topic...not when I know just one guy with over 50 Karakas is a binder, 25 Million is a safe number.
But some get this picture, and some don't, but hey the internet says I have a "fish" as a pet...when I actually have 17 of them.

Doesn't Griselbrand also show up in some of the tin fin variants and sneak and show decks? I'm pretty sure that Sneak and Show switched to Griselbrand.
Griselbrand is starting to tick up. Could be that Reanimator has been putting up solid results lately.
Solid results lately? I've only seen it top 8 once since Tin Fins became a deck. Reanimator is a very come and go deck, like Dredge(and I really like Reanimator). Whatever deck Griselbees goes into, he is always a 4-of and he's in 3 decks in Legacy. How many in Modern?
The only thing holding Griselbrand back is he's banned in EDH. However, if you're playing any cheat big dumb guy into play strategy, until they print something better, Gris is the guy you go to after Emarkul. He can only rise until a reprint.
Which he will never probably ever see the light of day again on a surplus "stock", there' no reason for Wotc to reprint a card that has no true impact on their market game plans, DCI will do nothing for this card just to note as well.
Barely played in Modern, Banned in EDH and basically see's minimal play in Legacy (as for archetypes go), expect this dirty card to continue rising (this topic was covered a while ago for those who keep up on the forums such as myself).

S.M man you are really going for most annoying person on the forums. LBS had that easy but I have not seen much from him lately. We all understand that you are ONE OF THE MOST COMPETITIVE MAGES ON THE SITE. lol dude its a game. most of us play to have fun. looks like your ego is tied up in it with you though..
