The Purp posted, a few days ago on his Youtube page, that someone opened a fatpack of Dominaria, only to discover that ALL of the basic lands in the extra-land pack are ALL misprints. The claims in the video is that the starting bids for the lands are between $35 & $50 each.
I did a quick EBay search & found nothing, so I am guessing this is either a misprint Facebook group or some other online group for selling/trading misprints.
It all looks real, but something seems fishy in the state of Denmark... real or hoax?
Some questions/thoughts to ponder:
1) How many individuals have opened up these misprints?
2) If more than 1, are the fatpacks centralized to a city/shop?
3) With the best guesstimate, what are the odds of this happening? (not just 1, 2, 3, or 4 misprints, but a boat-load at once)
4) Will this affect the secondary market for misprint collectors?
If it's true, and I don't see any reason it isn't, the fat pack's will spike in price. But what if it's announced that it was only a few fatties that got the misprints? Then what happens to the price of the fatties?
Love the hat.

The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realize it doesn't say anything it's too late to stop reading it....
Just opened the land pack from my Dominaria bundle, found nothing special - a few slightly darkened but nothing dramatic.
I might get more Dominaria bundles if I see them below MSRP but wouldn't buy at full retail just to check for this
I really doubt this is a thing. 4000 for misprinted lands are far too much.
Misprints occur regularly. Check Oddities. What makes these misprints so valuable but other oddities and misprints so much less valuable.
The foundation of these kinds of market is personal desire. The secondary foundation is the perception that it will be valuable to someone else.
These lands have neither.
The only way I can perceive it being real is if for some reason, there's some incredible hype around it, on the level of summer magic.
And even then, it would take years for the cards to appreciate to that point.
I just opened a bundle box and all of the foil basic lands are miscut. Most are severely miscut, the most severe cut right down into the top text box. They’re all cut lower than normal. Of the twenty, one maybe two might pass as normal. Haven’t opened the rest of the cards yet but am about to.

Here's the link to the Youtube video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e1EKKPKKrRs&t=91s
I almost put this up in the "Misprint/oddities" thread, but decided that thread is for asking price ofr misprints, not something as odd as this.
Final thought... wonder of there will be a mad rush to buy Dominaria fatpacks for the chance to spend $40 and walk away w/ over $4,000.
Love the hat.

The actual video you're talking about is for $2000ish worth of cards from the fat pack. That is a little older. The video I mean.
I find it interesting that the land pack isn't all Dominaria lands. I thought they were??

Umm, they will only walk away with $4000 if there is anyone actually moronic enough to pay that much for basic land.

It's not that the lands are basic, it is that they are really hard to come by misprints.

I'm calling hoax at this point.
