I'm fairly new to mtg and I had a chance to get a hou pre release pack from my lgs. However, I was also gifted one by a friend. So I'm wondering now what I should do with the second one. Do I open it up and keep the extra promo card, do I resell/trade the extra promo card, or do I keep the pack intact and sell it on as a whole item?
Personally, unless money is super-tight for you I'd either crack it and bolster my cardpool or, like Seal said, get a friend and play Sealed (or both). Here's some math for you:
These boxes can be had on eBay for $24, shipped. Shipping costs will be $4 or $5, and eBay will take about $2. So you're looking at $18 in your pocket when all's said and done. That's not too much for the effort of posting it, waiting, packaging it, and driving it to the post office. Like I said, if money is tight you might want to do that, but I'd advise against it.
If you're new to MTG as well as new to our forum, then bust it open with a friend and see what kind of deck you can build with the cards. Hit me up with a PM or post your pool in this thread - we may be able to offer advice on individual cards, if you'd like it.
