I'm looking to sell my Modern Affinity deck and haven't run into any local options as far as potential buyers go, so I'm going to be looking at other options including selling online via one of the many Magic buy/sell Facebook groups, or eBay. Having never sold an entire deck before, or even sold cards online before, I'd appreciate any advice when it comes to that. Also, I would appreciate any advice involving shipping the deck if/when I finally do sell it. I don't have any experience shipping anything as valuable as an entire Affinity deck, and would like to make sure that I can pull this off without any major hiccups/getting the deck lost in the mail/getting scammed.
In my experience, you usually take a hit selling a deck as a whole rather than piecing it out and selling on TCG or equivalent. People tend to expect a deal as they often already have some of the card and don't percieve it as being worth full value. As far as shipping, in addition to really good packaging to protect the cards you will want to get it insured and make sure you have delivery confirmation so you have proof that they received it (i think it's free when sent USPS priority mail but don't recall).

If your store hosts Modern events, you can talk to your friendly store owner about putting it in the store's display case in exchange for a 10% cut, and that may move the deck as a whole. Otherwise, akmage is spot-on. Very few people want to go from zero to "tier-1 Modern deck" all in one purchase. By the time they're interested in Modern, they've already got half the deck (although Affinity is special, because it doesn't use the dual lands that you pick up by playing Standard or EDH).

Thanks for the advice! In all honesty I don't mind taking a bit of a cut if it means selling the deck as a whole. I initially got the deck for a massive discount so I'll be making a profit even if I sell the deck for $550 or something. I'm definitely going to take your advice about talking to my FLGS owner and having it put into his display case for awhile to see if I can get it to sell that way.

That's kind of a win-win scenario, because it lets the store attract someone who might not have a deck to their event (possibly even renting it out for the event, which is another interesting twist), and it lets you get a lot of exposure for the deck. 10% is what my old store used to charge for putting cards in the case; that's why I chose that number.
Good luck!
