I know this is a common thread, but I'm hoping that my work cataloging what I have can lead to some specific feed back on how to best sell my collection. My goal is to move this stuff rather quickly, but I'm not in a complete rush and willing to put in some effort so that I'm not losing extreme value (at least for now). I'm also curious if it's best to try to sell it all off in a lot, split up meticulously, or group in specific ways for value/ease of sale. I know enough to know I have options, but not what those options are. Also, for what it's worth, I'm in NYC if that changes my options.
Collection Notes:
- Priced & Itemized catalog Includes Mythics, Rares, Uncommon Lands, & All Foils. Rest overviewed below.
- Priced & Itemized cards, current as of 10/3/16 @ MTGPrice.com, valued at: $698
- Collection is 99% Standard as of 10/3/16
- Kaladesh + Eldrish Moon cards literally never played (so NM/M), all other sets either never or lightly played at most and ONLY in sleeves, and therefore still likely all NM/M.
- For SOI contains full Uncommons + Commons playset with extras beyond that.
- All Rares, Mythics, Foils, and Uncommon Lands are in sleeves
- All cards are neatly arranged in cardboard boxes, included with purchase, where they have always been stored
So you've got seven pages of meticulously detailed notes, and I'm here to tell you that pages 2-7 are pretty much worthless. Sorry.
Your best bet, if you're getting out of the game, is to separately sell the cards on page 1. Chandra, Nahiri, Avacyn, Emrakul, Copter - these are cards that will move easily. You can eBay them and take a 15% haircut on fees, or you can buylist them to a store for about 50%. Or you're in NYC, so you might have decent luck with Craigslist or Facebook. The thing to remember is that anyone buying from you is going to ask for a discount from TCGLow. "Why should you get $X, when for that same price I can get a guarantee from TCGPlayer (or Store Y, if they shop around) and get the same cards?" A couple years ago, I saw a kid at the prerelease offering to sell stuff from his binder for SCG prices. Everyone laughed at him. You're listing the prices that professional sellers are asking for these cards - you can't expect to get that for cards of this caliber (once the cards hit the $100-$200 range, then there's enough scarcity that you're able to compete with stores).
Once you've moved the higher-end stuff, take all the rest and put together an ad (Craigslist is probably your best bet for this, since it'll be heavy and you don't want to pay shipping) saying something like "Quitting Magic. Standard collection incl. rares and foils, sleeves, dice, supplies, $150. Pickup only, price firm."
We've got several "how to sell your collection" threads in this forum from this past summer, so check them out. We mostly give the same old advice.
I'm happy to elaborate on anything, if you have further questions. Sorry to be so pessimistic, but getting out of the game isn't as easy for physical cards as it is for digital.

This is really helpful, thank you KnickM. So to clarify, you're saying except for the first page of that list (which I should price, all the other pages + everything I'm offering I should only price at $150? Ouch.
My 2 Cents: Craigslist can seam a bit sketchy, hence why the app OfferUp (& others just like it) have risen in popularity. They are a safer alternative to CL because there is a rating system, some are connected to Facebook (where the users FB profile photo is their profile photo for the app), and you can communicate in the app, so no giving out your email.
Be prepared to get low-balled, so try to ask a little bit above the average to give yourself wiggle room. If you have time, you'll find the right buyer.
But like all websites and apps, you will find flakes and those phishing for info about what you are selling. The times you do get folks that aren't flakes, realize they are there to spend money.
Here is a strategy: As KnickM put it, sell on Ebay page 1(stick to cards $5.00 and up - use a toploader, a PWE, and a stamp). After selling the $5 & up group, sell the rest on OfferUp as a packaged deal.

$150 was a price that I pulled out of my ... *ahem*.
However, I don't think that it's out of the ballpark. There are some cards there that you could pull out and sell individually (playset of Foreboding Ruins, playset of Rattlechains), but honestly I'm totaling up prices for what I'd pay for pages 2-7, and it's coming to about $50 (and that includes shipping). Maybe $10 more for the sleeves, but the problem with selling as a lot is that a lot of your cards have no value to many players. I just have no use for a Void Winnower, for example, no matter who values it at $2. It's worth $0 to me. And I'm probably one of your best targets, as an established player who took most of last year off of card purchases. For $150, I'd want to see some of the cards from page 1. That's the cost of selling it as a lot and saving you on time.
As far as what Stooge says, the actual venue doesn't matter. OfferUp, Craigslist, Facebook - you're just looking for a method of meeting people that isn't going to take a chunk of your revenue, and won't require you to ship a heavy box.

I own a store and we wouldnt even give $150 for the lot.
Most of it is going to be used to heat the store in the winter since the dust build up from the woodshop upstairs makes cards amazing fire starters.
Honestly looking at it $150 sounds fair since the prices you have are really all over the place and most are just flat out over priced.
For instance my store sells chandra for $30 because thats all we can sell her for because online exists.
People dont buy basic lands unless its in massive quantities, we do 800 basics for $15+shipping.
Foil basics have a weird pricing set up because it has to do with the artist mostly.
Selling the money singles and giving away the bulk is basicly the same thing as selling the lot, maybe youll get a few extra dollars but not much more.
Great replies -- thanks, friends. Going to try to move the $5+ cards on eBay (below their top value) and move the rest as as a collection for $150 to start on OfferUp or CL.
One last question: When I sell the remaining non $5+ cards, should I specify what the rare's & mythics are, or just the quantity. By that token, should I specify #1 of cards by set as I have here, or just say "X Standard Cards"?
