So Dack"s foil from the original Conspiracy was astronomically expensive before it's reprinting in EM. Kaya seems to be the closest analogy to him with her foil being in the $130 range currently. I realize Dack was infinitely more playable but Kaya has the unique position of having an alt-art foil. What do you guys see her price arc looking like? Will it go up, down, or just stay flat.if it has the potential to reach pre EM Dack levels ill hold onto mine, otherwise I'm thinking of just dumping it now. Advise is appreciated.

I don't see Kaya doing nearly as well as Dack. Dack has a couple of other things going for him - he's a vintage staple (doesn't really help demand) but he's also a Cube All Star. Conspiracy 1 also suffered from the fact that the set was poorly regarded and not very well opened, making Dack even better. CNS 2 by all accounts is going to be a major hit with the reprints, making the sheer number of foil Kayas in the wild much larger. It wouldn't surprise me to see her be worth half of her current foil value, and possibly less.
I'd strongly advise dumping it now and if you really want it, pick one up in 3-6 months.
It's honestly baffling to me she's currently over $100 for her foil version when the regular one is like $12. I fully expect her to go down to $40-50 for the foil in a few months, maybe even less. It's doubtful she'll see any Vintage/Legacy play so really her only demand will be from Cube and EDH, and even there Dack was way better.
Honestly I'm convinced a significant part of her price tag is people just not understanding that ALL of her foil versions have the same alternate art; they're not any more special than literally any other foil mythic in existence.
It's going to tank. Dack Fayden is an all star in all the formats he's legal in from cube to EDH to vintage. That pushes the foil a ton. Kaya is just another walker that isn't that special really. Cool card, but that doesn't equate to high price.

"Yawgmoth," Freyalise whispered as she set the bomb, "now you will pay for your treachery."

Well, the fact that the art is alternate does make it a bit more special. It is not rarer than a foil mythic but it is more special which could mean demand for the foils will be higher than for other foil mythics thereby driving up the price some.

People who collect "special" or "cool" foils probably also collect Planeswalker foils anyway. So while this is a nifty thing that people may hang on to if they open her, I really can't see her maintaining a three-digit price tag. That's just ludicrous. She currently trades favorably with freakin' alt-art Ugin, who is a dragon as well as a card with minuscule supply.
It's worth noting, OP, that Dack's original printing foil is still nutty. The reprint didn't touch its price at all.

Sorry this is off-topic but what makes a card a cube all-star?
It's a card that will make it into various cubes. For example, you have powered (power 9), unpowered (pretty much everything but power 9), legacy, pauper, etc. Cubes can have a ton of themes and sizes (360, 540, 720). Cube all-stars are cards that you would willingly put into most/all of those cubes.
Other examples are cards like lightning bolt, fetches, dual lands, counterspell and the like.
So she just spiked $30 up to $160 and is sold out on TCGplayer? Is it an attempted buyout?
People speculating, maybe because they think it will behave like Ugin's special version - and I don't believe it will.
Yeah, I can't see that happening either. This does seem like a lot of speculation and/or a need by some people to get the most pimp version of the card as possible as quickly as possible.
With Conspiracy 2's great reprints and broad appeal, much more of this set is going to be opened over the next few months and perhaps years until Conspiracy 3 comes out. That being said, I don't think the foil version will ever fall below $60 for a variety of reasons.
For starters, this isn't a set most people bust for singles, or use for sealed. Being best used in draft means that lots of people will only be going through the product 3 packs at a time. I know it's going to take me several weeks to go through my 2 boxes.
Secondly, she is a mythic rare after all, so foils are just naturally harder to come by. And third, now that a lofty sale price has been established and there is a definite want for this card, price memory.
That's what people are asking for. Look at the market price, which reflects what recent copies have actually been selling for. That's still $130. Completed eBay listings, including one that finished as I was typing this, are in the $175 range. People are seeing some upward movement on the price and jumping onboard. It hasn't even been a week since the set released. There are going to be more copies out there, and $250 isn't reasonable or sustainable at this time. If she's there in 2-3 weeks, it's a little more meaningful. Right now it's just people capitalizing on the brand new set.
