I recently was given a large collection (30,000 cards roughly) by my dad. He said I could keep what I want, sell the rest and give him the profits while keeping a percentage for myself. I have been trying to figure out the best way to sell the cards I am not keeping. So far what I have done is pulled all rares and mythics and then separated out the bulk from the "money" cards. My intent is to sell those high value ones individually which I have already gotten rid of a few via ebay. As for the rest of the collection (bulk rare/uncommon/common) I am struggling with how to approach selling them to get the most value I can.
I know I could sell them in bulk lots on ebay, or via an online buylist. But I have been wondering if it would be more lucrative to do things like create ready-to-play pauper cubes to sell, or other constructed items. Another idea I had was to create repacks with the sole purpose of the buyer using to draft from, and sell those in 24 pack lots for 8 player drafting. The repacks would not contain any high value cards and I would make sure a buyer was aware. I feel like these selling formats would create more interest for buyers rather than just a big box of random cards thrown together.
Are these terrible ideas? I do realize the fun of building your own cube etc, but I also know there are many people out there that would enjoy having their own cube that don't have the time to create one. Any suggestions or input is appreciated. Thanks!

Your best bet is to sell it in either 1,000 or 10,000 card lots. Put some rares/mythics and some solid C/U cards back into each lot, and take some pictures that include some (but not all) of the good stuff. Having good cards in the lot that you don't highlight will give your buyers a good feeling of discovery. Having some good cards "on camera" in the lots will reassure people that it's not entirely crap.
Or, you can just bulk it out for little effort - if you've already pulled everything of value, you may as well just bulk out the rest to a dealer. It'll take you ten minutes instead of the couple hours to manage auctions.

Along with many mods, I've moved shop over to MTGNexus. Come check us out!
A common way for people to sell bulk on eBay is to fill up a medium USPS priority box, which holds about 4000 cards. These go from $20-40 + shipping. Another way to go would be Craigslist, which might net you a little bit more as buyers wouldn't have to shell out for shipping, and be able to glance at the cards before purchasing.
I've never looked at draft packs from various sets repacked on eBay, but I suspect that you're really not going to make above and beyond selling for bulk and spend way more time sorting.
There's a new app called Offer Up. It's like a safe (somewhat) version of Craigslist since it's linked to FB profile (BUT they cannot access your FB, thank God). User's get ratings as buyers and sellers. It's like a cross between Craigslist and the "buy it now" part of Ebay.

Unless you have a website or a store front I think this is all you can do, and frankly I find its more labor intensive than the little profit you can make. There is actually a guy on ebay who stuffs 1000 cards into a flat rate envelope! I tried it with them stacked and it doesn't work so they have to be interleaved and mashed inn basically unsorted. I can't imagine a scenario where some cards won't get damanged in the process this way.
What's worked for me is just flipping the entire thing. Buy 50,000 cards peel off what you can that you can actually get $2+ bucks for per playset and flip the rest of it with a small margin. Since you are selling so many cards at once the small margin actually ends up making it worth your time. And you actually get a little exercise in the process picking up huge boxes. The alternative is mind numbing (literally piecing out the bulk playset, piecing out everything and listing it all on ebay, and while you can make money on it. If you choose to that, it's a numbers game. If you have thousands of listings and offer very low shipping each with multiple quantities so you aren't relisting stuff over and over, and combined shipping you will start to make money off it. You'll start getting people who buy 10-14 different playsets of commons from you in one checkout. To reduce listing fees I was using listings with variations and listing everything from one color of each expansion together into one listing. But again, it's mind numbing. Without a prescription for aderall I wouldn't be able to do it lol. Just an amusing example from my mind. One of the cards I was selling the most of ended up being Walking Atlas, a card as a more serious player I never saw any use for which I would consider pure bulk.
the easiest way I've found is this (coming from someone who's just gotten rid of ~200,000 bulk c/uc)...split all the uncommons from the commons. find someone paying $3 per 1000 on bulk and sell them all the commons. sell the uncommons for $10 per 1000. It's really not worth the time trying to squeeze maximum money out of these things if you've already stripped them of value. the few extra bucks you'll make are not worth all the hours you'll spend doing it, especially for only 30,000 cards.
