The market has been pretty stagnant for the last day or two. Everyone accepts that the Modern format is ruined and is waiting for a new meta to emerge.

What? Price explosions have finally cooled down and this indicates that the Modern format is ruined? Gah, perhaps it just means that those with money to spend have already made their bets and players are not chasing the spikes!
Someone at my LGS was telling me that Eldrazi Temple is only being bought for $3 and Eye of Ugin is only being bought for $19. This seems extremely low, especially for being 1 1/2 months from a ban still.

It's just a ton of risk. Either one of those banned wouldn't be worth even those prices. I sure wouldn't want to be offering anything higher if I was a buyer.

Even if both those cards are banned in Modern, they might have serious staying power in Legacy.
Apart from established Legacy players who want to play the deck, there will always be people wanting to break in and struggling with start up expenses. Eldrazis offer an affordable way to buy in with what will likely prove to be a competitive deck. I understand City Of Traitors will bottleneck entry, but the card has a very long way to climb before the three copies you need become anywhere near as scary as a typical Legacy mana base - especially for people who have the Modern deck built already.
The idea that a Temple should ever drop below $3 is highly doubious. Casual/EDH demand alone should support a higher price than this.

It's a fair point on Temple. The two cards probably need to be considered separately. I'd much rather buy Temple at $3 than Eye at $19 (if I was a vendor), but either way I understand not wanting to risk much on these right now. Despite the long-term possibilities, Modern bannings would trigger a large volume of sell-offs out the gate.
If eldrazi was as broken in legacy as it was in modern I'd agree with prices staying high on eye/temple post modern banning, however, this doesn't look to be the case. Modern drives demand more than legacy does by a lot as evidenced by spikes of pretty mediocre modern cards in comparison to legacy card price spikes, which only started happening again recently because of EMA being announced. If temple is banned in modern and I heavily suspect it will be the price on eye/temple/all these eldrazi cards in modern will be tanking when the mass sell off happens. I've heard people talk about the deck and I've seen it and if it doesn't get banned I will be genuinely shocked especially since it's modern we're talking about/banhammer the format.
Unsure of what will happen to ghostway price without a reprint. I imagine decks would just run both that are into that sort of effect.

"Yawgmoth," Freyalise whispered as she set the bomb, "now you will pay for your treachery."
is there any chance that temple and eye remains unbanned and where deahtrite shaman or stoneforge or even jace becomes unbanned to make things more interesting?

It's entirely possible that only Temple OR Eye gets a ban. It's also possible that something gets unbanned. Personally, my guess is that either nothing or just Eye gets banned. Temple makes the deck good; Eye makes the deck stupid.

Modern drives demand more than legacy does by a lot as evidenced by spikes of pretty mediocre modern cards in comparison to legacy card price spikes, which only started happening again recently because of EMA being announced.
Legacy doesn't drive prices because prices have already been driven to a point where buying in or expanding is prohibited vely expensive. This is mostly due to the high costs of a few undersupplied key staples which most tier ones decks need some of. Note there is a difference between driving demand and generating spikes. Cards like Karakas, Cradle, Tabernacle, LED, Duals, etc retain ridiculous prices almost entirely out of Legacy driven demand.
Those high priced cards set a ceiling on everything else. Unless a person is willing to shell out for some of those, they don't want other Legacy only staples. Sadly there are a lot of people who are kept out of Legacy for this very reason. Enter Eldrazi Shops which only needs 3-4 City Of Traitors and nothing else on the reserved list (barely anything else not Modern Legal). This opens the floodgates somewhat.
If eldrazi was as broken in legacy as it was in modern I'd agree with prices staying high on eye/temple post modern banning, however, this doesn't look to be the case.
For Eldrazis Shops to generate significant Legacy demand, it need only offer a more significant appeal than the other cheaper decks to buy in on like Burn, Manaless Dredge, Affinity, etc. How can it generate more interest?
It can be stronger than those decks. It doesn't need to be broken; being tier one but not ban worthy might even be better.
It can be more fun than the other options (Burn is percerived ss dull and Manaless is kind of weird).
It can be enough more expensive to relieve the budget stigma, but not enough to be cost prohibitive.
Pissed off Modern players post-ban and savvy Modern players pre-ban will be porting those decks if they have interest in Legacy.
I predict City Of Traitors will continue to spike (try telling me this is entirely a reaction to EMA) until they hit such a point that it's no longer appealing to Modern players who have Modern Eldrazis and want to play Legacy and/or immortalise their soon to be banned out of Modern deck. I think that's enough demand that prices of Eye and Temple will drop but not plummet. Who knows?
is there any chance that temple and eye remains unbanned and where deahtrite shaman or stoneforge or even jace becomes unbanned to make things more interesting?
Banning both destroys the deck, and I don't think that happens. Banning just the eye makes the most sense. I doubt DRS or Jace get unbanned any time soon. Stoneforge probably not either, though I could see it before DRS or Jace.
karplusan forest and shivan reef are the only pain lands i see having value long term, because of their use in tron and storm. i see everything else falling in price. i didn't want pain lands when they were selling for 0.75 cents a piece; i'm definitely not gonna want them at $5 or more. they're just gonna sit around in binders or boxes anyway. Would not be surprised if karpulsan forest continues to go higher though.
Speaking of anti-Eldrazi tech, Ghostly Prison is now $17.
Yeah, just checked on tcgplayer and they tend to bottom out at around $15 for NM copies there right now, and about $12 on ebay for NM copies. Not really surprised at the spike given it had been slowly on the rise for a while, and with the eldrazi and such it makes the card all the better.
And yeah, wanderwine hub seems to be around the $8-$10 range on tcg and ebay for lower end of NM copies.
what would the price of stoneforge mystic be if it wasnt banned in modern?
same w/ jace or DRS?
Before the last ban announcement and with the thoughts of a possible unban SFM hit over $40. I would imagine it could go higher if actually unbanned but after that it depends on results. Probably realistically stay around $30 but maybe $40.
DRS I would say $20-30. JtMS would probably exceed $100-150 easily.
Modern prices are impossible to judge for me though. Format staples could be $30 while fringe sideboard cards hit $75. So I'm really unsure.
Holy smokes! Adarkar Wastes just shot through the roof. Traditionally a card that's under $2 just shot over $15 a pop! Despite 6 reprints. U/W Eldrazi is the culprit!
You know, given this recent uptick, I'm a little surprised this card hasn't seen a bit more love too, considering it's often every bit as good as Wastes and sometimes, a lot better.
It's also uniquely available in Modern to WU and no other color pairs.
