Seems super janky. A timely Remand or Path to Exile and pfzzz.
Combos are only janky depending on what you're comparing them to. The format got a major shakeup with the banning of Splinter Twin, and Shape Anew + Thopter can be played in virtually the same shell. It's worse, but it does accomplish much the same thing: a sudden victory out nowhere for 4 mana without needing to dedicate many resources to it.
Imagine a deck running Thopter Engineer, Blinkmoth Nexus, perhaps Pia and Kiran Nalaar, maybe Whirler Rogue or Thopter Spy Network, and then otherwise being a solid red/blue tempo shell with Shape Anew into Blightsteel being tossed in for good measure. I don't know if you can dismiss that strategy in a world where the UR deck is not automatically Splinter Twin.
To be fair, I bought some foils just in case. I agree with your assessment that you never know, but my gut reaction is to not be impressed right off the bat.
Inquisition is better vs aggro/burn. Discard is very hot in several modern decks at the moment including the Eldrazi deck. It was confirmed to not be in OGW so to speculators that's a license to raise the price and for others it was panic to buy right away before the price could potentially become something stupid.
If you think the price hike on Inquisition of Kozilek and Urborg are big, look at Eye of Ugin. That card was hovering around 5 usd last month and now it's up to 30 usd a piece. It's a situation of where I think the supply of the card is no where near the level needed to supply the demand being levied, as unlike a lot of other decks the original Eldrazi Control was budget with few if any staple cards. This probably made it appealing to a lot of people who all bought in at once to get a cool deck for modern, so all the staples related to it shot up as well as a result. Without another proper reprinting of Eye of Ugin I think the opportunity to play a budget modern Eldrazi B/x deck has long since passed.

1. (Ravnica Allegiance): You can't keep a good esper control deck down... Or Wilderness Reclamation... or Gates...

3. (War of the Spark): Lets make the format with control have even more control!
so.. uh.. again i ask, what is going on with past in flames
Maybe someone found out some pro players will be on Storm for the next event. Wouldn't surprise me - players like Finkel have always gravitated towards that deck, even if it's obviously not a great choice.
The why of it doesn't really matter to me. I have 'em in storage and now I'll have to dig them out. Stupid spikes always making me go digging for cards.
I have a question for you, im aiming to build a mana denial and a grixis control, so i will need a playset of fulminator, a playset of kolaghan's command and "expensive" stuff like this, and im thinking to sell, some tron cards, like karn, oblivion stone, ugin and eye of ugin.
You think is worth or maybe is better to wait?
I really hope that this is mainly due to the upcoming pt oag and its price wont hold out long because almost a 100$ mid for gp goblin guide is too steep (out of stock at least in tcg).
Does anyone have an idea why Collected Company just shot up to around $12-13?
I'm honestly not sure why it specifically just jumped now, but I checked tcgplayer and one seller has a whole bunch of them available (NM) for about $9 each, but then it jumps up to $12+ after that. On ebay its basically $14-$15 on the lower end for NM buy it now copies (either for singles or playsets per copy).
EDIT: LOL. I just went and checked again a couple minutes after posting this, and the seller had updated their price from $9 to $14 each :p. So yeah, between ebay and tcgplayer now you are at $13+ shipped for the card now.
It might be more standard related because of rally, now the deck in standard to beat, being highly dependent on coco digging for answers or combo pieces. Aside from that, coco can slot easily into standard and modern decks that run green with only a few changes in the creature suite.

FWIW, all of the cheapestShape AnewFoil on Ebay disappeared overnight. There's still a few less bargain-ish international sellers and quite a few available on TCGPlayer.
Full Disclosure: I did purchase five copies myself two weeks ago. That probably meansThat can only mean that I am trying to manipulate the market by posting this update. If it pans out, I will cash in a whopping $20 and laugh all the way to the bank twirling my mustache.. ALL TOO EASY.

I do have a question for everyone. So, Atarka's Commandshould drop considerably upon rotation, right? Another way of asking: Is Atarka Red viable outside of standard environment?
I don't play any Modern but I definitely need a playset of these for a deck I'm working on. Really don't feel like paying anywhere near current rate for them though.

More people might be jumping onto the modern eldrazi deck with the new Eldrazi-filled set. That plus speculation.

Cheap copies are drying up...again. Get them to play with before you lament that you should have gotten them.
Sorry, confused. What are you trying say? Please reiterate.
Yeah it's probably worth it. Here's a winning decklist I was looking at a week ago that plays the cards you want to get:
