That one was always inevitable, based on the power of the card in commander + reserve list. Same thing will happen with Survival eventually.
Might take a little longer, given that it's banned in legacy. Rector has been seeing some more fringe play there in a nic fit variant that's gotten a few MTGO 5-0s in addition to the strong EDH demand.

I think it's a trap to buy into those cards at the current price. Blood sun is a solid card on its own, but building your landbase around it in commander seems crazy, and in legacy or vintage seems way too slow. A cute interaction won't carry you so far.

Totally agree it's crazy! But RL cards are slow to drop after they spike.
Lake of the Dead is a glorified Swamp with Blood Sun out. You can't use the second mana ability because it also requires sacrificing a Swamp.
Lake of the Dead's last ability is a mana ability. It doesn't target, adds mana to your mana pool, and isn't a loyalty ability. That fills all the requirements. The only interaction between Blood Sun and Lake is shutting down the replacement sac.
That said, it's a pretty minor interaction because you still need to sac a swamp to get the acceleration. I wouldn't expect much more demand for it thanks to Blood Sun. The other two have a much more powerful interaction.

They're both on the RL and will never drop back down to their pre-spike prices. May be a trap, but if you don't have them and think you may want to play them in the future, it's worth trying to snag them before they peak.

While they'll never drop down to their pre-spike prices, they've spiked to 5x or 10x their original prices, and I doubt that'll bear out. I'd wait a while - unless people are going to run 12Moon in Legacy (people other than CavalryWolfPack, I mean), this is an EDH-only interaction and ... everything Kryptnyt said.
By now they have spiked, and if you buy now you're buying into the spike. Even if the spike has legs, it won't push prices further up.

The other cards have a stronger interaction once BS is actually on the field. But as far as their overall value in an EDH deck, this is not significantly increased. I was half serious but half poking fun at this reaction.

By original prices, you mean back when they were Standard legal?
These cards are roughly 3x what they were pre-spike. And frankly $8-$12 was a little low for EDH playable RL lands IMO. While the reason for the spike is silly, I think this is almost a price correction.
I suspect we won't see much a drop in these at all (noting that SR already dropped a bit).

My apologies - last I checked (which WAS a while ago), both cards were in the $4 range. Someone linked me a price for Lotus Vale showing that it was $38. I didn't dig; I should have verified multiple sources. Looking at TCGP's availability, it looks like Ruins is currently $17, and Vale is more like $25 (NM/LP copies - I excluded the damaged/MP ones). So, you are correct about the multiplier. Perhaps that's the cooling I expected to see, or perhaps the $38 price was just a random tryhard hoping to get a score while his was the only Vale available. I'd still expect Vale to be closer to $20 than to $25, but that's splitting hairs.

So the time of silver EDH is comming to an end. Do you expect all the silver cards to drop back to rock bottom prices or do you think any will "stick" ?
The most expensive unstable card currently is very cryptic command version 5 (the one with funky art) @4€ according to mcm. The +2€ range is entirely dominated by very cryptic commands, basic islands and ursa.

Ones that are also good in Cube have a better chance than those that aren't. From what I've read, that includes a couple of the Very Cryptic Commands and the 'manipulate counters' morph of Everythingamajig (the most expensive one, currently).

I think they'll settle down a bit, though likely not as low as they had been. Some Commander groups plan to keep running silver-border, some people have constructed Un-Cubes, and some people will just hang onto the cards rather than liquidating them. I' have an Un-Cube and had priced cards out prior to the Commander legality announcement, and now I'm kicking myself for not buying them before the spike. I plan to wait a month or two and see where things settle.

But if you look at Unglued and Unstable, cards spiked recently to 2-4x their previous prices. Look at Johnny, Combo Player - used to be $3, shot up immediately to $12 when they announced Commander legality.

Foil prices will stick (at least somewhat). Nonfoils will not nosedive, but will get depressed. Although really, the people who bought nonfoils are going to keep playing with them regardless of what the RC says, and the people who bought foils are going to hold them until the next silver set rolls into town.
Vale is sitting close to 30 now while Scorched Ruins is down to about 16. I'm surprised at the difference tbh. Why is Vale in so much higher demand?
3 colored mana is probably better than 4 colorless? Definitely shouldn't be close to Stronghold, although that may be more a function of Stronghold being artificially low. Phyrexian Tower, surprisingly, is not a reserved card.

Yay buyouts! This week's winner is Invoke Prejudice. Three IT copies left on TCGP at the time of this writing, and only two EN copies on eBay are under a grand.
Sigh.

I honestly don't think it will matter all that much. Many of the new silver-bordered cards weren't game-breaking and many playgroups enjoy playing with the cheeky shenanigans. EDH is still a kitchen table format at the end of the day, so the time period of legality given to silver-bordered cards is arbitrary IMO as those who enjoy playing them will continue to do so.

I'm seeing prices dropping on some of the foils that I've been trying to pick up. I don't know if it's because people are getting rid of them with the legality ended, or if it's because supply is increasing but the demand is drying up. I'm guessing that it's more the second than the first, but both are probably relevant.

Survival has jumped from 45 to 70.
CoS has gone from 50 to 75
What has happened?
Survival is a powerful card in EDH and has Legacy unban speculation around it. It's also on the reserve list, so we're not getting any more, ever. The price is only going to go up. If you want it, trade for it now.
Cavern is an important card in the new(ish) Modern Humans deck. It's only seen one reprint, and it was as a mythic. Another mythic reprint seems inevitable, but that'll probably only manage the price, not crater it. It needs either a reprint at rare or two more mythic reprints to put a serious dent in the price, because the casual demand is HUGE as well.

Wait for CoS? Only trade if need be? I only do EDH but have jank tribal decks.

Yeah, that sounds about right to me. If you want Survivals, buy/trade for them now. If you want Caverns for a janky tribal EDH deck, I'd wait (somehow I don't have one in my Zombie deck - I'm still waiting).
