Remora is also pretty strong with Solemnity. Think about it in Vintage. Not surprised it's up and probably still has some room to grow.
Be careful speculating on it though--there was A TON of Ice Age printed and opened. Quite a few copies out there rotting in binders and bulk boxes, I'd imagine.
It seems Ramunap Excavator isn't as high as I would expect so soon after release, but I assume it's why Azusa, Lost but Seeking is up to $50+ for a NM nonfoil Champions version, and the only Judege promo on Tcgplayer is at $89.99.

The fact that it's the "Draft Weekend" (formerly Launch Party) promo is helping to suppress the price on Excavator. But yeah, he and a Wasteland seem pretty brutal in Azusa.

Certainly looks like Wizards is the deck to buy, value-wise. This has led to a spike in both Patron Wizard and Riptide Laboratory. Ship has sailed on those two. I'm now looking at less obvious secondary specs..
At this point, Kess, Dissident Mage seems to be this set's ''Atraxa' (most popular general) AND this set's 'Legacy Plant'. Not sure the second half works out at all, but it's clear this is an important card in C17.
In Commander circles, one of the more promising ideas I've seen for her is a Grixis Storm deck. Shaman's Trance let's you play other people's graveyards.
Well, that's exactly the kind of over-the-top story Commander players love to tell eachother. Furthermore, with Flashback, it seems quite a bit harder to print in the near future. It's also a very old card with very limited supply. At <$1, I think Shaman's TranceFoil are a great pickup right now.
Any thoughts? What are you guys going after for C17?

I doubt it. 4cmc creature in legacy? You can flashback your Gitaxian Probe immediately sometimes for decent value, but it's just not aggressive or broken enough to impress me. Annoying extra turns in commander? Yeah, sure.
As for Shaman's Trance, you get to play one of their cards.
I definitely feel you w/r/t Legacy. The bar is extremely high and I'm not sure she'll pan out there.
However, in Commander she seems a bit more possible.
To clarify: You play Shaman's Trance from your graveyard with her (or just play it from your hand) but then you may play as many cards as you want from anyone else's graveyard once Trance is resolved. (And shut them off from it for a turn as well--that's pretty tight.) With some mana rocks, maybe a Paradox Engine or Deadeye Navigator in the mix.. And since Trance has no 'Exile' clause on it (like actual Flashback cards do), you could theoretically play them over and over...with the right mix of targets, you could even go infinite. Seems like something 'nutty' Commander players might want to try.
But Kess only lets you flashback one spell a turn, unless I'm reading the card wrong. "During each of your turns, you may cast an instant or sorcery card from your graveyard" looks a lot like one per turn to me, but now I'm doubting a bit? It's confusing wording. And also, Kess would exile the cards, not Trance. They aren't put into your graveyard, so scratch that.

Kess is being discussed as a 1-of for more controlling legacy lists that can hit her colors, which basically boils down to Grixis Control and maybe Czech Pile if she does well elsewhere, as a grindy card advantage engine that walls most creatures in Delver/various other creature heavy lists. If there's a strong contender for legacy plant, it's either that or Teferi's Protection. Neither is as obviously powerful as TNN but both are just a strong finish or interesting list away from higher legacy demand. I wouldn't wait too long on either of them if you're interested.

Are you misreading Trance? It doesn't give your opponents' cards pseudo-flashback, it lets you treat them like they're in your yard. You still need a way to play things out of the yard to take advantage of it. There are definitely ways that you can take advantage of it, Kess makes it a little easier, and it's a fun trick for a casual Kess list but you're looking at a multi-card combo that relies on your opponents having good cards to do anything really degenerate. I think it has room to grow, but I doubt it goes very high. Too many hoops to jump through to appeal to a wide crowd.
My take is that prices still have plenty of time to fall. Product isn't even on the shelves for another week. The current pricing on the wizards is basically relying on supply issues for that deck.

Kess could certainly be a one-of in the Grixis Control lists like Pyromancer Control and Czech Pile. Dodges Bolt and Abrupt Decay, though unfortunately Revolted Push still offs her.
I doubt being a one-of in one archetype gives it the same kind of pricetag that TNN maintains though.

Shouldn't be a surprise to anyone with the planeswalker rule change, but Captain Sisay and Mirror Gallery have spiked and are in short supply around the internet. Foil Reki, the History of Kamigawa is climbing, though nonfoils still look like there's a decent supply.

Maybe we could petition WOTC to update Tsabo Tavoc's oracle wording to let her protec against and destroy legendary permanents, eh? Her printed wording seems look that way.
I was always tempted to get rid of my Sisay after she spiked the first time. I'm glad I didn't, especially since I decided I wanted to build her again. Wish I nabbed a Galina though. I can expect other tools Sisay to jump. Perhaps Atraxa too since she's a popular superfriends commander.
Tsabo was in the same set as Galina. If they wanted it to destroy legendary permanents instead of just creatures, they knew how to word it. Oracle text matches the original function and intent, so I wouldn't expect a change there.
I don't actually see foil Honor-Worn Shaku in stock anywhere, so it probably is climbing. The only reason no one is it listing as such is because there are no listings to base that one yet. Give the internet a day to catch up and I'd guess you see the price closer to $20. Lancers is too recent for this to have a big impact.

Corpse Dance is being bought out pretty quickly now. I'm guessing people are doing it to abuse the Reserved List, but it's still a solid Commander card.
That Empress Galina spike is just ridiculous. Before the rules change Galina was like a 2 euro card. Now she is 10+ and my flgs is selling her at 25€. She saw zero play.

Actually, since Kess lets you "flash back" a card and pay Buyback to get it into your hand instead of exiling it, it may be C17-related.

Seems to niche to be the root cause, especially with all of the recent RL buyouts. Kess synergy doesn't hurt it but I can't see it driving a 5-6x price increase in a day.
Almost picked up a set Sunday at $4/ea. I'd regret not pulling the trigger but I'm realistically never using more than 1 for EDH anyways. It did push me into finishing sets of a couple RL cards I do actually want to run, but that's more legacy related.

I think Seize the Day is about to be bought out. Was a ton of NM copies on TCG, and now they're gone.
Definitely seems like a card worth picking up anyway, since it sees play in many red decks
What's the speculation on a buy-out? Not on the RL. It spiked hard on Feb 9, 2015 & has been slowly rising. Good card, but not a good spec target. Also, hasn't appeared in any popular legacy decks as of late.
Yomiji has no appeal to tournament formats and limited appeal in EDH. Foils have already spiked hard, but I wouldn't expect nonfoils to go anywhere.
Untaidake is all speculation and unlikely to maintain a high price point once everyone realizes how bad it is.
Untaidake is fantastic in the right deck with the rules change. Superfriends is both a popular and viable decktype in EDH (see Atraxa). No one is splashing this in their decks that have 2-3 PW's, but put it in a Superfriends decks with 15-17 PW's and it's nearly another Ancient Tomb. It's not speculation, it just has a narrow use in terms of the number/variety of decks that can benefit from it, but the one that can is very popular, and we all know EDH is a pimper's format.
