I believe this is the right place to post this but do not frequent MTGS (or at least not outside of lurking and certainly not for this purpose)
A friend of mine went to GP AC and lost his entire collection, so let this be a warning to those who are going to a large event, don't take your sight off your stuff for a second and don't bring anything more than you need to attend the event and have a good time.
If anyone finds anything/someone sketchy comes in with a small collection, the information relating to it is as follows:
White binder with toon link on the front, the order of the cards go red-blue-white-black-green-multicolor-lands. A whole page of savage knuckle blades and silence the believers notable cards being a signed foil Chandra pyro master and a miscut hero of blade hold. There was a r/g devotion deck in a xenagos box.
If I need to post this elsewhere just let me know , if you guys have any suggestions just yell at me.
Not trying to be rude, just maybe a bit dense. Who takes pictures of their binders and how can he provide pics after it's been stolen? I can understand taking pics if you don't trade a lot. That's a good way to keep track of stock, but for anyone who is frequently in their binder, it's useless.
I hope you guys recover some, if not some, of his collection. Usually things like this shuts a player down completely.
Not to make light of things, but at least it sounds like his collection wasn't full of high-end eternal stuff and was mostly standard. Unfortunately, that also makes it extremely hard to track.
It's a good PSA though, especially with GP Las Vegas coming up. That'll have more people than any other card tournament in history.
I hope for the best for your friend in recovering his collection. Perhaps you can post this on mtgreddit for more visibility (if you haven't already done so). Also keep a lookout for any new auctions that pop up on eBay. Another option is to contact game stores around the Atlantic City area to see if anyone brings in a collection to sell.
This (and other unfortunate occurrences) happen in my area occasionally, and most of us will get with our local game shop and take up a cash & card collection to get the player back on their feet if possible. I've you and others have the means, it would be a mighty generous thing to do for them.
