Sylvan Caryatid
Courser of Kruphix
Hero's Downfall
Goblin Rabblemaster
Etc. etc.
It might be early to start talking about this, but since I don't have that much time to play standard to begin with, I might want to start thinking about selling these sooner rather than later.
Do today's standard staples see modern play? Those cars listed above (there are other, please fill in the blank) are about $10 on average. Will they drop post rotation?
Caryatid will always hold value though. Birds of paradise has been reprinted into oblivion and has good value. I consider Caryatid superior to it.
Caryatid is better in combo decks (like Ascendancy Storm) that can't afford to have their mana dorks get burned.
Other than that one deck archetype, BoP is better than Caryatid. BoP comes down a turn earlier, it has flying, and it can attack. All of those things are huge advantages in non-rotating formats. Sure, BoP dies to removal, but if your opponent is wasting a Lightning Bolt on BoP, you're probably winning that game anyway.
Playing millions of cards every turn... Slowly and systematically obliterating any chance my opponent has of winning... Clicking the multitude of locking mechanisms into place... Not even trying to win myself until turn 10+ once I have nigh absolute control... Watching my opponent desperately trying to navigate the labyrinthine prison that I've constructed... Seeing the light of hope fade and ultimately extinguished in an excruciatingly slow manner... THAT'S fun Magic.
We have 2-3 users that are dramatically making this thread incomprehensible and non-productive for anyone else to possibly join in the discussion. This needs to change.
Every time I see [ktkenshinx] post in here, I get the impression of a stern dad walking in on a bunch of kids trying to do something dumb and just shaking his head in disappointment.
Near Mint: The same as Slightly Played, but we threw some Altoids in the box we stored it in to cover up the scent of dead mice. Slightly Played: The base condition for all MTG cards. This card looks OK, but there’s one minor annoying ding in it that will always irritate and distract you whenever you draw it. Moderately Played: This card looks like it survived the Tet Offensive tucked inside the waistband of GI underwear. It may smell like it, too. Heavily Played: This card looks like the remains of Mohammed Atta’s passport after 9/11. It may be playable if you double-sleeve it to stop the chunks from falling out. The condition formerly known as "Washing Machine Grade" Damaged: This card is the unfortunate victim of a Mirrorweave/March of the Machines/Chaos Confetti/Mindslaver combo.
[M]aking counterfeit cards is the absolute height of dishonesty. Ask yourself this question: Since most people...are totally cool with the use of proxies...what purpose do [high] quality counterfeit cards serve?
Let's not be so quick to use the phrase 'zero modern or legacy play'. Courser was pretty hot in Modern for a few months. I suspect that will happen again now that TC got the axe. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't amazing or anything, but it was pretty good. I've seen rabblemaster in legacy, and it was actually pretty decent. Anything that gives incidental value is pretty good. I've seen it in both mogg-catcher and normal goblins, but those decks barely see any play nowadays, so while it sees an above zero amount of play, it's not by much.
As for other cards, I don't think I've seen downfall used outside of standard, aside from EDH, and even there, it's a bit suspect. People messed around with Caryatid in the JA combo deck, but I think it moved away from that a long time ago, and I don't even know if that deck is still a thing post ban.
In any case your question is pretty simple. Yes all four cards you mentioned will drop post-rotation because they are more popular in Standard than any other format.
The only cards that do not drop on rotation are cards that are used more in other formats, mainly Modern. As Wraith223 pointed out Thoughtseize, Thoughtseize is used more in Modern than it is in Standard. Thoughtseize is also popular in Legacy and Commander.

While it's true Downfall and Courser see play in Commander, they are being reprinted in the clash pack as foil alt-art. Some players would want these over normal ones, ESPECIALLY for commander.

Guh... As I *****ed about in another thread, the quality of the foils from those clash packs are abysmal (like intro pack foil quality). I wouldn't be surprised if some folks eschew them in favor of regular pack and pack foil cards.

Yikes, I wasn't aware. Haven't personally seen a clash pack foil that I'm aware of.

im not sure about hero's downfall..... if i were you i would sell everything out of m15 and theros block now, while there is still standard demand.
thoughtseize wont drop much too i guess, since it has much modern and even legacy demand.

Hero's Downfall and Courser of Kruphix both see a good amount of play in Commander.
