He's also potential card for any tron deck and possibly MUD as well, every EDH deck can play him, and he's a dragon. Players love dragons. I see a $35 price in his future as well when he rebounds from when he rotates, barring any duel deck. Still, a Bolas vs. Ugin duel deck seems almost inevitable.

Wait for rotation. I believe a big part of its current rise in price tag is because it is a 2 of in Standard Esper Control and a 4 of in Standard Eldrazi Ramp.

I sold out, and kept foils and promos. It'll drop at rotation but not by much (there was some concern it would have been printed in duel decks but since it's confirmed it will not be, the price floor has increased).
I think it's funny comparing the responses at the start of this thread to the ones at the end of it. Namely that people thought Ugin couldn't hang in Modern and he'd be under 20 bucks. I say hang onto him. He doesn't go in everything, but when he does have a home, he does serious work. Also, massive casual appeal due to being a dragon planeswalker. Not saying he won't drop at rotation, but it won't be much, and he'll start climbing again eventually.
Two posts in the last week saying Ugin won't drop much on rotation. This seems contradictory to the history of every other mythic that sees fringe modern play on rotation.
Ugin is a 2-of in one modern deck, and doesn't really fit in any others. He could also easily get squeezed out of Tron by a better colorless bomb, and we have OGW coming out in a couple months which is likely to contain colorless bombs.
Karn is a 4-of in the same deck, from a less opened set, and was $10 when SoM block rotated. I see no reason to believe that Ugin would stay over $20, let alone near the current price.

Isn't Ugin also an EDH bomb, though? I seem to recall that he's played more than Karn in that format.
Please note, that's a question, not an assertion of fact. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

You could very well be right. I don't know. Karn is played a lot in EDH too.
In any case, the vast majority of his current demand is standard, and the price tag will follow his standard use.
He's back to being a popular Standard card so he's expensive
He'll rotate out once Shadows over Innistrad releases and he'll likely drop rather quickly and then inch back up since he goes in almost any EDH deck and is quite good. I don't think he's as Modern-playable as Karn is his rise once he's out of T2 won't be as noticeable.
While Ugin's OK in EDH, he doesn't answer the major bombs without screwing up your own stuff (and potentially making other enemies). The great thing about Karn is that he kills any single threat, regardless of size, while leaving your own board state intact. Ugin is indiscriminate.
I've seen more Karns in EDH than Ugins. What are peoples' thoughts on the foil version specifically? A friend of mine who plays casually has been trying to dump one since he opened it at the prerelease and I would be happy to pick it up when I can get a reasonable deal on it.
Ugin is a safe pickup at $20. He's played in Modern Tron as a 2-of and Legacy MUD, as well as EDH and casual. He's from a small set that was pretty unpopular. Plus, he's a dragon planeswalker.

With Oath and possibility of colorless matters he may gain more support cards
could the eldrazi ramp deck make it to modern with the right cards?
I've seen him as a one-of in a few Tron lists but even then, I think Karn is better (if only slightly so) but I have doubts about the viability of the Standard RG Eldrazi deck in Moden as is.
Still Ugin is a great card to spec on: dragon, planeswalker, colourless and powerful. I doubt this card ever drops under $25.
