I am currently getting back into the full swing of magic. Getting my decks together and all that. I found a local card store, (great store call The Whiz Store in Massachusetts) and I want to buy a booster box, for fun and to get some real value back. I know it is a gamble and I could get all common rares worth nothing, but I can spare 90$ right now and wish to do so. Which set out right now could I get the most bang for my buck? The newer Khans or something like Journey into Nyx?

I would suggest you to draft the box with some friends. All boxes are worth their money if they were used for fun drafts (and Khans limited is great IMHO)
Thank you for the replay, yes that sounds about right. It will help as well as I am building my Mardu deck. Very good cards in there and will certainly enjoy the booster box. Any advice on where to buy said box? And is 89.99 a good price for a khan booster box? Thank you again for the advice.

Give that boxes are 105+€ here in Europe (I guess you meant 90$) that sounds really cheap, BUT I don't know what the usual American prices are (all sealed Magic products are more expensive here than in the states)...
SCG Has Dragon Maze Booster Boxes for $69.99, Is it worth it even at that price?
Since they're selling the chase mythic at only $12.99 (Voice of Resurgence), I hardly doubt that it's worth it. You're basically paying $70 + shipping for opening a box worth about $40 at the most.
EDIT: That may be Alter Reality Games selling the Voice at that price. Sorry, I've been to too many Friday deals today without buying a single card.

Hah, that's my friend Mike's local store.
I'd advise Khans, because it is a hoot to draft, and fetches are always good and can be traded for what you need if you don't want to use them.

Khans, because it has fetchlands and other good stuff as well(some very good cards even at uncommon and common). And there is even a card which enabled a completely new modern combo deck
