My account finally got rolling again during the past couple of days. I think a lot of folks are excitedly exploring the new package trade feature, and sending to folks that simply have the most cards to fulfill in a single trade, regardless of the actual value of the trade. I think you could do worse than load up your wants list with the cards you actually want ($2 - $infinity stuff) but add as many cheap commons and uncommons as you can bear; commons and uncommons that you've maybe been toying with the idea of collecting or building with. I think that's a good way of raising your profile and helping folks unload stuff clogging up their own home collections.
For example, I put a bunch of chase standard cards on my list without seeing much action, but once I put some additional SOI and EMN commons and uncommons on my list (for building a dumb super casual edh deck), trades for the chase cards started coming in, usually loaded up with extra commons and uncommons. The cost of the extra commons and uncommons have been negligable, certainly not exceeding the expenses I'd expect honoring a 10-20% bounty.
I haven't really tested this method on modern or older edh/legacy stuff, but I don't think it could hurt to have 4+ cards available for any prospective trader to latch onto in your profile.
I was waiting for the site to stabilize somewhat, and I can tell you that I've had someone initiate the first trade I've received since switchover in the last 24hrs, and I've also sent my first package this morning. I suspect a few folks were waiting for the dust to settle.
Did the guidelines for .csv layout change since the migration to Future Site? Since the migration, whenever I try to import my haves list, there are what feel like innumerable errors: item in wrong language, wrong edition, promo duplicates of items, etc. I am essentially unable to trade until this gets fixed / I figure out the new .csv guidelines. It's driving me mad: Here's an example of what I've been using:
I don't see how rolling back the UI could cause data inconsistencies between platforms, they're still saving to the same databases. Or if they're not, they should have rolled out the back end platform and done some sort of AB migration. All in all, they're talented people doing good work, but I feel as though they're lacking some sort of 'Senior' Engineer leadership to assist with more advanced things like the migration and rollout of an entirely new site. *shrug*
Given the amount of downtime, I'm going to go out on a limb and posit that they had a number of backwards incompatible changes. I wouldn't be surprised if they made a number of schema changes that were incompatible with the model that was previously used in the view, and then updated their view/stack (I don't know what technology they're using off the top of my head. PHP? Ruby?) to make use of the new schema.
This is judging on how long it took and how things got out of hand for them. Backwards compatible changes rolling forward usually don't cause the same kind of deployment dumpster fires.
Exactly what I was going to say.
Given the scope of the changes, they'd more than likely have an old database for the old site, and a new database for the new one.
If someone traded a non-English, less-than-NM card inside the first 48hrs, there's no way that they'd have been able to roll that back into the old database.
I totally get that, but updating the existing site to be able to handle, or proxy through an API that can handle, the updated schema is a great way to test out the new database and the new schema without, y'know, having to do an untested cut-over.
while I understand the importance and frustration of the roll out, I am more concerned with how I seemingly cannot get cards sent to me. Only 2 in the last 3 weeks. With 30,000 points siting I am done sending out cards for now. I have over 1000 trades in sent and received. Real question is the site slowing down in the amount of trades?
Oddly enough, I've been getting more trades recently. Granted, I have a bounty on all of my wants and I've been stingy in only sending out to users with bounties as well. But I had 5k worth of points come in this week.
I'm getting pretty frustrated, myself. Every time I try to add a new card to my wants list, Pucatrade sets the value at 0. No amount of time waited or page reloading fixes it.

No joke. I added a bunch of low cost crap (Wastes et since I didn't draft that set) and trades started rolling in. Personally I look at point values when I do package trades, but I'm the same way. I'd rather ship $2 worth of bulk with my $10 card than a couple of $3 cards that would ship on their own.

Out of the blackness and stench of the engulfing swamp emerged a shimmering figure. Only the splattered armor and ichor-stained sword hinted at the unfathomable evil the knight had just laid waste.

Yup, pretty much. I don't think it was a purely untested cut-over, but their testing regime certainly had holes.
But that's the thing about the testing game - you can never test everything in software... you just hope and pray that you fill the right holes. The Puca lads certainly found out where their holes were the hard way, poor sods.
I'm getting pretty frustrated, myself. Every time I try to add a new card to my wants list, Pucatrade sets the value at 0. No amount of time waited or page reloading fixes it.
Totally agree with you - this is my number one frustration ATM, too (especially as it also seems to be the thing affecting the incorrect values in the package trades).
Puca have it as close to their #1 issue to fix, according to their Twitter (and they say they're planning on rolling out a public bug tracking page in the next couple of days, which is an awesome step IMHO... I will punish it).

I'm sitting on a hair more points than that, and quite literally, SITTING. I've been waiting for Wastelands for three months. I haven't even been able to get promo Reclamation Mages. If I get those Wastelands and Arid Mesas, I think I'm going to maintain low point totals from there on out.
I'm cashing out of pucatrade for now, i'l keep tabs on the site's trajectory but i'm overloading my wants list with all sorts of cards. Sure I don't exactly need them immediately or for anything specific but at the very least they could serve as trade fodder in person.
If that doesn't burn through my points, I might have to start adding standard stuff rotating out.
Seems there are quite a few of us all stuck with points and no movement of cards. As someone who is fine with SP I was hoping to really get things moving on my want list and instead just hearing crickets. Let alone me not being able to get my csv file from MTGO loaded I am really frustrated. I am about like Raver just want to get cards back out for my points. Was really hoping to finish off my Red Sneak Legacy Deck as I am not willing to pay cash for the cards. Am sad to see the site losing steam as it has been great for me.

I am trying to move a .csv I exported from MTGGoldfish over to Pucatrade. I have spent hours shifting fields, changing titles, etc... and I cannot get it to convert correctly, it literally says my formatting is bad. Sometimes it will import the cards but in the wrong sets or they'll be listed as promos etc...I also can't find a thread or good help via a standard google search or here. If anyone has any input or a link to this info I would be very grateful. Also, reading this thread makes me a bit hesitant to send out any more cards, I just started Pucatrade and I sent out about $50usd in cards, hopefully it works out.

I asked admin@pucatrade about why my haves list kept getting incorrectly imported. Here was their response:
... We're aware the importer isn't working as smoothly as we'd like. It's one of our top four priorities right now. As improvements go live for the importer, we'll update the community.
In the meantime I'd try copying the text from the columns into the text importer. It's not currently supporting foil or language. The categories you'll need are quantity / name / set. ...
I haven't had time to fool around with it yet, and to be honest, I don't think I will bother adding my haves line by line. Hope this helps

Thank you!! This tells me what I needed to stop wasting my time!
There are two country filters. The filter we all have defines which countries' members we can see when looking for people who want cards. I generally only view Canada and US card-wanters. And everyone has that.
The "Accepted Countries" filter affects what countries you allow people to send you cards from. You might not want people in Japan or Australia or Brazil to send you cards because you might be worried about loss or delay, and premium members can define that list. Non-premium members can see that option on their Settings - Trade Preferences page, but if they click on it, they get the "YOU DISCOVERED A PRO FEATURE" popup, with "Unlock" and "Not Now" options (and unlock leads you to the page to upgrade to Uncommon or Rare level membership).
I'm getting pretty frustrated, myself. Every time I try to add a new card to my wants list, Pucatrade sets the value at 0. No amount of time waited or page reloading fixes it.
Via trial-and-error I figured out that the work around for this is to not add the card on your want page, but instead just go to SEARCH and find the card, click the appropriate picture there, select foil or not, and then click the add button.
The race is on! What will happen first, will Puca fix their crappy software or will I get rid of all my points since I can finally add more stuff to my want list? Tune in next week!
Weird to me is how few the Haves and Wants are when I look at cards. Chase type rares from Conspiracy 2 are real shallow, hell only like 84 haves for Burgeoning

OMG you are my hero.
Also, I can verify that this error IS messing up package values. I had my first incoming trade initiated since the update today (including an Expedition Twilight Mire... so decent stuff IS moving). It also included a single copy of Clever Impersonator that my want list had valued at 0 points. The total value of the points put in escrow from my account is equal to the sum of the other four cards in the package.
Everytime I try to click a package to send, it says X trader no longer needs card Y and no matter how much I refresh or log in/out of the site, the same packages show up as available when I try to send.
The only real upside isn't working now. I'm not going to trudge through want lists when the site makes my eyes bleed. They need to bring the old site back while they work out the bugs.

I am very glad I'm not alone with this problem. I just chalked it up to my not being fast enough on the trades.
It's painful too, because if you hit one card they don't want, you can't complete the rest of the trade (even if you remove the problem card from the package).

Accepted Countries Settings Reset
We will be resetting Premium Members' Accepted Countries filters on September 2, 2016 @ 10:00 PST
Now I am a Premium Member but screw this doing everything for Premium Members stuff and leaving the "peasants" as 2nd Class citizens.
Since when do non-premium members have an accepted countries filter? We don't. Whatever's happening to that is only relevant to premium members.
My bad like I said I have been a Premium for a year, did not remember I could not choose when I 1st started.
