Thanks Cythare! Sorry to hear that this isn't an isolated incident. I also sent the PUCA-admins an email regarding this situation, but we all know how overwhelmed their inbox is with open cases. Cooler heads will prevail, I guess. I know other traders involved have much more at stake than my modest trade (which isn't even in transit yet).
I'll go back to my 'nickle and dime' trading for now
I hadn't shipped mine either, so it's not a huge deal, but I'd also like to know if I can relist. So far, all they've done is acknowledge my inquiry and told me they'd get back to me as soon as possible.
No update to my email as of this morning.
But I do see something that might be related over on Reddit.
Sounds like things might have progressed enough to the point we can/should send cards? It's not exactly clear, the Puca Admin's post might only be directed to the trader that started the thread as I'm still seeing the Temp Hold instead of the recipient's address.
I'm feeling a little frustrated today, although it is more at the US Postal System than with PucaTrade.
I've had three cards which I sent in the past two months which failed to arrive.
In each case, I sent multiple other cards that day, and those all arrived. I took photographs of the stamped envelopes with cards next to them before I put them in the mail. So I know, without any doubts, that I did indeed send them. The rest of the cards have all arrived, but these have not. One of the recipients is a Gold member, and I have no reason to believe that any of them are trying to scam me or the system.
After a few weeks I reported the first as lost to Puca, and was refunded. But I can't expect them to keep doing this forever. So far I've lost a Wooded Foothills, a Mana Confluence, and a Hornet Queen.
The cards are cheap enough that I can't justify sending them with tracking, but expensive enough that losing them hurts. What should I do?
I've also had a situation come up that I'm not sure to handle.
Someone sent me a card that's worth roughly $10 right now. The card was in pretty rough condition (lots of white wear all around the front borders, really grimey feel/texture and more white wear on the back borders with some large white chips). I normally don't complain about condition much if the card is just for a deck and not a collection (as long as the condition isn't TERRIBLE) and this card in question is a pretty old card. But still, I don't consider a $10 card to be cheap and I feel a little cheated, having to pay full value for it with the condition it's in. The guy who sent it to me doesn't have a premium account so if I wanted to dispute it I would probably end up having to return it to him for a refund. The problem is, it's a card that I feel is very subject to a sudden cornering of the market and huge price spike right now, so I don't want to chance sending it back because I may not be able to get another copy.
What would you guys do? Should I just let it go? I doubt the guy is going to pay $5 for a premium membership so he can refund me a few bucks on a card. Then he'd be out almost the entire value of the card anyway.

What I've done in the past for situations like this is as follows.
First, talk to the guy. Reach an agreement on how much the poor condition devalues the card.
Then, use your premium account to send him the agreed upon point value.
Finally, cancel the trade so the rest of your points are refunded.

You can send to us Canadians! The mail is slower but it gets here and shipping is cheap!
My last 'wanted' trade worked really well (got a Snapcaster, thank you Drifiting Skies). I was happy to pay more points and I think it was fair because Snaps went up a bit so both of us are happy.
I am really excited about this site. I've sent out so many 2-8 dollar cards, that I could actually make a run at getting a dual land. I can't believe anyone in real life would have possibly taken thirty five-dollar cards for one or there abouts. Heck in my local market, it would be hard to trade ten two-dollar cards for a thoughseize.
I wish people could list a range of editions on cards that they want. Like I've a few phyrexian arena's from the duel deck and I doubt anyone will ever ask for one because its an odd edition.
U would be suprised. I've sent off so much stuff that has been sitting in my binder and almost gotten all the foils i need for my EDH. So far in a month I've sent ermm 300 dollars out.

Generally people list the cheapest version of a card. My experience is that if you send them a PM they will be happy to change it to a different version, particularly if it is only a few points different. Some people are collecting sets or only want a certain art/border, but not most people.
So I'd like a little advice on this one: Card sent fine, but obviously torn at the top by Act of Machine. Then, some helpful person at USPS decided to make sure the contents didn't fall out by stapling it, and this was the result. I don't feel anything is wrong with the sender, but am bummed that it didn't get to me in the condition it was sent. Anyone have a similar experience? And how did you resolve it?
Golden Rule of online trading is: The sender is responsible for making sure it gets to you. Sucks for him, but he didn't deliver the card promised.
Exactly. As with all things, sellers/senders have choices to make between saving money but giving themselves less protection against issues, or spending more and protecting themselves more. This is one of those cases where saving a little money would clearly appear to have ended up with an unfortunate result, but that sort of thing can/does happen, even if its rare, the sender is 100% responsible for fixing the situation and making sure you get the cards you ordered or a refund accordingly (or however that works in particular on pucatrade). So feel free to contact the sender, explain the situation, offer the picture/explanation you provided here, and hopefully the sender will have replacements to send.

Hey, I wanted to follow up on this - the trade that I had been waiting on to send because of this resulted in an unexpected result: the user was banned, and the system credited me with the points but I was told I could keep my card. Apparently when a user is banned, the system automatically resolves all ongoing trades with that user in the manner most beneficial to their trading partners. I reached out to the admin team, and they confirmed this.

I would ask the receiver to split the cost with you. If cases were addressed in short time periods, I would suggest going that route so you both get points. But as-is, a cost split seems the best you can do.
I just signed up and made my first trade but I already made a blunder. 2 small value cards do not meet sending condition: 1 of them is not nm and one is in the wrong language. What is the right protocol to handle this situation on this website?
Also I am not getting a lot of matches in the states. Do many of you send your cards across the pond or to our neighbors in Canada?

Open a case for your trade to send a message to the recipient. You can ask him if he is OK with the other language or wants to reach an agreement for the non-NM card. If not, you will need to cancel the trade. Again, you can do that via the "Case" functions.
I send cards to Canada on occasion, or other foreign countries. But 99% of my trades go to the US. Keep in mind that many trade opportunities get snatched up within minutes of when they are posted.
I've not been having any problems until last week; but like many of you have previously stated, one bad egg can really sour the experience...
So, I amassed hundreds of dollars in points, added a ludicrously expensive card to my wants list and wouldn't you know it, before my morning class was done it was already committed and marked as shipped. I considered that a little suspect, but figured that the guy was just marking it shipped and planned to head to the post office that day. I was patiently awaiting a message about tracking but to no avail. I had to message him twice over 5 days to try and get the tracking number but when he finally did reply, he said that he didn't get tracking because "the post office was too busy." I felt like vomiting.
Luckily it arrived safe and sound, the next day and everything seemed alright! Though when I took the card out to inspect it before marking it as completed, it had several cuts/scratches on the card face and a bunch of white gunk. They were deep enough to worry me but overall it was passable so I shot him a message saying that I would keep it but I wanted the adjusted rate because it wasn't NM. I offered to do 80% like PucaTrade says you should. I was even willing to go to 90% since I needed it and didn't really want to mess around. He messages me back basically saying that I was a liar and his card was perfect. I sent him pictures and scans and he didn't bother to reply, he just opened a case against me posting that I had falsified my claim and that the card pictured was, and I quote, "clearly not the card that [he] sent". About as clear as muddy water. I'm still waiting to have this resolved by an admin, but I'm quite unhappy. I don't feel like there can be a solution that will make me happy. If it's decided that I send the card back, it's already gone up in price so that sucks. Besides that I'm "lying" about the card anyway so he's not like to accept what he gets back anyway. He refuses to work with me at all. Ugh. I doubt the mods will do any of this magical credit everyone with points stuff.
Assuming they do require me to return the card, do you think it's unreasonable that I have the following conditions? I want him to acknowledge that the pictured card is his card (to protect myself from another case if he gets it back and doesn't like the condition). I want him to pay return postage. And I want to be off the hook if anything happens once I ship it (since he sent it PWE, I feel like I should be able to do the same).
Even though I feel confident that I will win the case, I have evidence and he does not, I still am turned off of the idea of building up my point reserves again after this is over.
What are the best store-avaliable $10 cards to send?
I'm finishing playsets of some hard to get planechase/commander/duel deck arts and puca is much better at this than local game stores but my binder is empty after getting my playsets of fetchlands. So what stuff from ISD-THS do you think I'm sure to move quickly for credit?
Snapcasters and shocklands are slow to move, so if you have some of either to dump, that would trade really fast. Also, Abrupt Decay, Aether Vial, and Cavern of Souls seem to be in demand. Won't have too much trouble dumping a Thoughtseize either, I don't think.

About Snapcaster, I have messaged everyone I can who can donate points and I haven't gotten a single message back. I am just looking for TCG mid and that's how they respond about it. Meh, it doesn't hurt me to sit on them.
RE: CHris Hanrahan's Mox Emerald.... that guy deserves it. I think that every time I post a new deck list he has half of it filled before I can even double check to make sure I have the right cards.
He now is about to become the owner of the first traded Black Lotus on Pucatrade.
Oh, and who here has donated to the Indiegogo campaign? I'm seriously considering going for the "Tablet of the Guilds" perk, as I live in Berkeley now, but I am at a loss on who to bring for a guest. Any suggestions?
