It seems easy to trade away the lower end stuff, but there is a massive 'line up' to get anything decent. Maybe people were willing to trade down Force of Wills before, but I don't see that happening now.
I've been waiting a while to get one Snapcaster from my points. There are 10 other people from North America waiting as well Or is Puca just for random cards/Standard?
I think the problem with higher end stuff is that Puca doesn't truly line up their points with TCG mid like they claim. I'm willing to let my SCMs if their value would match TCG mid.
I'd agree that their price correction-turn around time leaves a lot to be desired. There are lots of things on my watch list that I know aren't even close to right ~ promo geist for 3371?
I feel like PucaTrade really needs to make their value algorithm open source and available for audit. The algorithms consistently take several days to update in response to a price move (either up or down), and some cards have consistently high or consistently low point values compared with TCG Mid.

That's been the price of it on Puca since November. I know because I was being sent one that got lost in transit and never made it.
Fun fact; it looks like I may have my first lost package that I sent. It'll be a first for me, been an online trader since 2001 so I guess it was bound to happen. It's also a Geist of Saint Traft...
I'm having some issues with a card I just received.
Guy commits to sending a card on the 20th.
Doesn't send the card until the 27th.
Card arrives today and is clearly not NM. It's SP at best, and close to SP-. I open a case saying that the card is not NM and I want a partial refund for condition. I'm not a stickler on condition, but I expect to pay an SP price for an SP card.
Guy flags for admin response and sends out a huge tirade that I'm a dishonest trader attempting to scam this innocent trader out of 60 cents (it's a 400 point card) and that he's never had an issue with condition and everything he sends is NM, refuses to pay my "extortion" and tells me that this site will only be successful as long as there are no "dishonest traders" such as myself trying to rip people, says that he wants me to pay out of my pocket to return the card to him, and that if he doesn't receive a NM copy, he's going to have the admins throw the book at me.
I've received Power and numerous Revised Duals without incident, and I've got 60,000+ points in my account and that many more in transit. Really, it's much easier to just accept the card and let him off, but given the confrontational attitude I've received after putting up with his week to ship the card out, I'm digging in and won't budge one penny on this.
Mods: I'd like permission to post this person's PT name to warn all members here to block and not do business with this individual.
EDIT: Calmed down a little bit now.
I guess I'm just frustrated and want to rant. I understand that mistakes happen, and I don't mind a nick or two - I've probably sent out cards that weren't strictly NM either because I missed something when I examined the card or it got a little worn in transit. Maybe it would be better just to drop it and accept it as the cost of PucaTrade, since it does look NM- on the front. I dunno. Venting frustration. </endrant>
This is the back of the card in question: http://imgur.com/aMuLiSM,U5UVQ7d#1
You can be the judge if I'm being reasonable asking for a few points back for this.
Good news is that PucaTrade is getting me exceedingly close to finishing my playset of Revised Duals - counting the ones in transit, I think I'm just five away (Bayou, Trop, Savannah, Scrubland, and Taiga) from my set of 40. I'm very happy about this.
I think the new changes (w/ the acceptance of less than NM/M), in the future, will make it much easier for some to send out their SP/MP cards, which in the end, will keep them out of your yard. The new changes will weed out the SP/MP cards. Heh, kinda just did a whole "garden" metaphor there. Impressive.

Actually, I'm interested in SP/MP cards, at an appropriate discount for the decreased condition. It's not receiving an SP card that I have issue with, it's receiving a card that has some wear and being expected to pay the NM price on it that I take offense to. I want to offload lots of SP/MP cards myself, and this is a fantastic development on this front all around for me.

Just read this from the Indie-a-go-go page of theirs:
Trade for digital cards, event tickets, or sealed product using our user-friendly website and then log into Magic Online to pick them up any time later.
Hope this means Magic related products are also an option for trade. For example, I have 2 decks made and a Commander deck built, just not sleeved. Because I am out of sleeves. I would prefer to get my sleeves through Puca Points, and would even accept SP sleeves (@ around a point/sleeve).
Please leave personal feelings about other users, moderator or not, out of this thread. The proper way to handle a request for Solicitation is to send a PM to a moderator of that subforum so that it can be reviewed and okayed if appropriate before posting rather than to post it without checking and to goad the moderators into taking action on a post that otherwise would be fine.
I sent a PM to the mod regarding my post that was put in question a few pages back. Never heard back from him/her. So that option isn't really viable.
To be quite honest, speaking as a Social Media Manager for a large multinational company who gets dumped on every day, the mods here need thicker skin. Slapping these warnings do noting but alienate people from posting (hence why I have such a low post rate compared to how long I've been a member on these boards). It would go a long way if the mod would just brush off the comments or address them by defending his/her choice without using the safety net that is the red wall of text.
Was it sent prior to or after the fact? I'm just curious, and apologize that your post wasn't responded to.
While there is some merit to growing a thicker skin, it's an extension of the rules disallowing trolling/flaming other members of the community in general. If it's a question of personal opinion, then I tend to avoid red text - that is reserved for addressing an issue in a more official manner, especially when the content is more about reminding the users of how to properly handle things like Solicitation requests. Not addressing trolling and flaming indicates that it is a fine practice when it isn't on these forums.
If anyone has any further concerns about this or just want to discuss related topics, I'd be happy to follow up with you via my helpdesk rather than continue to clutter up this thread with off-topic discussion.
A few questions for the veterans using this website. Thanks for reading.
1.Is it easy to find traders if I exclusively trade within the USA?
2. If someone wants a card from you that cost less than postage, how do you progress since you're losing time and money in the long run?
3. Is it worth it to sign up for one of the premium membership if I am only interested in acquiring foil cards?
4. And are foil cards easy to acquire on Pucatrade?
1. Definitely. 90% of my trades are within the US.
2. I don't do trades that are less than about $2-$3. So they sit there on my "Available Trades" list until they go away.
3/4. I have found Silver membership to be very worthwhile. I like acquiring Tier 2 foils for Standard, such as Commune with the Gods and the like. I also get the occasional EDH card like Blasting Station in foil. They are filled fairly quickly, usually within a few days if not hours. I even got a Masques foil plains within a couple of days.
I recently got 3 Snapcaster Mage from Puca. I offered a "bounty" of a few extra dollars ($4 if I recall correctly) and got them right away. Snappy is an eternal staple with no reprint on the horizon, so I think it was more than worth the extra to get them now.
I think the problem with higher end stuff is that Puca doesn't truly line up their points with TCG mid like they claim. I'm willing to let my SCMs if their value would match TCG mid.
TCGPlayer Mid is generally a little lower than Puca. This is necessary to keep people from buying PucaPoints to acquire cards - Puca works because most of the trades are entirely within the system. In the Puca beta, they matched TCGPlayer exactly, but that is no longer the stated or intended policy.
I've sent (or will be sending tomorrow) 7 cards since yesterday, netting me 12,700 points, assuming no mail screw-ups (every card is unplayed, so condition won't be an issue). So, that's $127 already from stuff I've never touched. I've got another $650 of cards on my haves list, and another $300-$400 to upload. Hoping to get to the $760 needed for a judge foil FOW. It might take me 2-3 months, but I'm pretty confident I can get there, without giving up anything I'm too attached to. Really on the fence about offering my mint Karakas though, think I'll be holding off on that unless I just stop making progress in my point total.

What do you think they should be valued at (points wise?).
I also like the idea of offering a 'bounty' as suggested above!

Given the normal divide, I'd have the price on Snapcaster Mage closer to 4,750 than the 4,200 it is currently "valued" at, noting that TCG Mid is $45 and there are only a half-dozen under $40, most of which are not NM and the ones that are NM are only under $40 by a few cents each.
I mean, I have three extras, but 4,200 isn't enough to get me to offload them, especially knowing it's going to cost me $3.37 in postage to do so.

My name clearly says NM only why waste my time. This is the last time I will be using pucatrade...its just not worth the trouble anymore honestly. Hi I'm Infecter4life and ironically I only play GBx decks.
So weird. I have never had any issues with any of the cards I've received... there've been 5-6 cards that were below NM in the 687 cards. If those, 2 were supposed to be beaters and actually looked better than I thought they would. I have piles of useless crap sitting around that people (US only) seem to want too. Sure, there aren't a bunch of $10+ trades going out from me, but I send out $4-$10 stuff 4-5 times a week. All the people I know locally who use the site have had almost the same experience I've had too.
I think the problem stems from me only really wanting older cards, so the chance of them being damaged by default is higher than brand new NM cards that can only really be damaged that shortly (outside of some freak accident) by shipping, which nearly never happens.

In regards to your response to me:
This doesn't make any sense. Puca would then be bringing in money to the site creators. I'm fairly certain that when I signed up around Nov-Dec last year, they stated they were using TCG mid. Someone quote it if I'm wrong however. Still, nearly every card I have dealt with is close to TCG price mid and actually lower than mid. A few examples: Abrupt Decay $12, Recurring Nightmare $10.92, Beast Within $2.18 on TCG mid. Decay $11.78, Nightmare $10.65, Within $2 on Puca
Just wanted to share the success that I've had with Pucatrade since there are some people who don't see the value. Perhaps it is just me but buy listing in my area is absolutely horrendous and never an option. And I've never found anyone online willing to take my jank for decent coin (no surprise there, really). Here is what I have sent through Pucatrade (warning, lots of images, it was quicker than tallying and can give everyone a decent overview of what is sent without having to read every card). Sure there are a few higher priced cards that I sent out, but these were sitting in my trade binder for a long time, in some cases since the card was released (Master of the Wild Hunt).
While there are a few cards that I regret putting on my want list (Kalitas, for one), by in large I've acquired cards I would have never done so otherwise. Trade up is a great thing but also getting hard to find cards. I've never seen a Chaos Orb in person before owning it, along with an Invoke Prejudice.
Just a wonder, but which countries would you never send mail to with a PWE? I've heard horror stories about sending cards to spain and italy and I would like to avoid them if possible. Thanks.
Italy I have no problems with. Argentina is a total hit or miss. I don't send to Spain and have stopped sending to Argentina. I have over $100 worth of points dating back to December that haven't been credited. It's not just their mail system sucks, the users from those countries don't comment back or care to log back in to give you the points.
Is it just me, or has activity been in a lull for most of the past week? I'm used to 120-130 different "wants", but now it's down closer to 85.
My guess is that people are saving up so they can pay inflated pre-release prices, but then again, I don't know. I don't remember this happening during Fate Reforged spoilers.

A few examples: Abrupt Decay $12, Recurring Nightmare $10.92, Beast Within $2.18 on TCG mid. Decay $11.78, Nightmare $10.65, Within $2 on Puca
And in return I have received:
Not on the list:
Chaos Orb
While there are a few cards that I regret putting on my want list (Kalitas, for one), by in large I've acquired cards I would have never done so otherwise. Trade up is a great thing but also getting hard to find cards. I've never seen a Chaos Orb in person before owning it, along with an Invoke Prejudice.

My guess is that people are saving up so they can pay inflated pre-release prices, but then again, I don't know. I don't remember this happening during Fate Reforged spoilers.
Went to a new shop from a friend's recommendation, DQ'ed for willful violation of CR 100.6b.
Have played duals? I have PucaPoints for them!
