So I updated my account to reflect my US PO Box on friday and since then I have the foil thundermaw hellkite, mox diamond, and a Mishra's Workshop. So if there are some non-us users who happen to live close to the border and are having trouble getting their lists filled a PO Box along the border will do wonders.
I was reading this, and it seems like selling to a buylist for credit would be a better option, no?
The value you get from Pucatrade is better than buylists. I don't have a lot of high value to list, so listing junk has turned into somewhat-less-junk for me. Where else would I be able to trade off eight commons for 100ish points (plus the $0.49 for a stamp) to turn into something like Dismember? What I have to offer, no buylist is going to take, so with a little patience, I'm filling holes in my collection.
EDIT: Even for high value cards, Pucatrade is going to be better than buylists, but it all depends on what you want to do with that credit. Buylists are probably safer than sending to an (generally) unknown entity, but there seems to be enough honesty in the community that people are doing it.
Anyone know why there is so much interest in Sower of Temptation? It's been in demand for about a month now with little movement in the price. At any given time, there are around 2-3 people that want them and they don't seem to get filled that fast.

I'm having some issues with a card I just received.
Guy commits to sending a card on the 20th.
Doesn't send the card until the 27th.
Card arrives today and is clearly not NM. It's SP at best, and close to SP-. I open a case saying that the card is not NM and I want a partial refund for condition. I'm not a stickler on condition, but I expect to pay an SP price for an SP card.
Guy flags for admin response and sends out a huge tirade that I'm a dishonest trader attempting to scam this innocent trader out of 60 cents (it's a 400 point card) and that he's never had an issue with condition and everything he sends is NM, refuses to pay my "extortion" and tells me that this site will only be successful as long as there are no "dishonest traders" such as myself trying to rip people, says that he wants me to pay out of my pocket to return the card to him, and that if he doesn't receive a NM copy, he's going to have the admins throw the book at me.
I've received Power and numerous Revised Duals without incident, and I've got 60,000+ points in my account and that many more in transit. Really, it's much easier to just accept the card and let him off, but given the confrontational attitude I've received after putting up with his week to ship the card out, I'm digging in and won't budge one penny on this.
Mods: I'd like permission to post this person's PT name to warn all members here to block and not do business with this individual.
EDIT: Calmed down a little bit now.
I guess I'm just frustrated and want to rant. I understand that mistakes happen, and I don't mind a nick or two - I've probably sent out cards that weren't strictly NM either because I missed something when I examined the card or it got a little worn in transit. Maybe it would be better just to drop it and accept it as the cost of PucaTrade, since it does look NM- on the front. I dunno. Venting frustration. </endrant>
This is the back of the card in question: http://imgur.com/aMuLiSM,U5UVQ7d#1
You can be the judge if I'm being reasonable asking for a few points back for this.
Good news is that PucaTrade is getting me exceedingly close to finishing my playset of Revised Duals - counting the ones in transit, I think I'm just five away (Bayou, Trop, Savannah, Scrubland, and Taiga) from my set of 40. I'm very happy about this.
Some BIG changes coming for Puca Trade. Just got this email from them:
In sync with our ongoing goals of making PucaTrade better and better, we just launched an Indiegogo crowd-funding project to build a few big features that PucaTraders like you have been asking for for a while now. They are:
The ability to trade non-English cards
The ability to trade cards of any condition
Support for quantity and "versions I'll accept"
An elegant mobile experience
Support for digital cards (Magic Online)
Looks like some wishes will be granted w/in, oh I'd say, a year or less!!!
I got that e-mail as well and am looking forward to the fruits of this upgrade. I'm strongly considering throwing $75 at them to get that playmat and those sleeves, but I want to wait until I get my tax refund in (should be en route now). Really feel like they should have waited a month to do this until people get their tax returns filed and refunds in-hand, but not all timing can be perfect.
I'm excited about these big developments. Well, not the Paper <-> MODO stuff because I'd rather not play Magic altogether than touch MODO with a ten-foot pole, but getting myself some Japanese cards and offloading my vast collection of SP and MP cards is going to be really nice.

I'm excited about the expansion. The biggest thing for me is easily receiving SP cards. I'm a player, not a collector - all I want are tourney playable cards that don't look like crap.
I think the most important change is the one for mobile use. A lot of people don't have access to a sit-down computer. A Puca app would bring them into the game. And it could make swapping cards at FNM fast and easy - imagine that I can wire you PucaPoints whilst standing by your trade binder.

That card isn't anywhere close to NM. You have every right to ask for a partial refund to compensate. Guy is making a fuss because he finally had someone question his poor grading ability and is trying to save face. Don't back down you are in the right on this one for sure.
Funnily enough, I did decide to back down since I'm not willing to fight over 60 cents and the guy did apologize after seeing the card in question. I have little doubt I could have pressed the issue and "won" the case and a partial refund, but I have better uses of my time and energy such as working on my dissertation. Definitely was angry at his defiance early, but he said that he had felt "scammed" by people pressing for refunds over trivial defects. I've probably sent a card like that by mistake or it got a bit of wear in transit, so I figured that in the spirit of giving, I just let it go. But I appreciate the vote of confidence that you agree that that's very much an SP card.

Short rant time! Oh now I love the irony of people with huge tirades on their profile page about how you'd better send them NM only cards OR ELSE and people with "NM ONLY" in their name sending you non-mint cards.

I've gotten cards like that from Channel Fireball and Card Kingdom under their near-mint category, so I wouldn't have a problem with it. I wasn't able to see the front of the card, so it was difficult to judge

Going from my experience with a few of the big fish, I've gotten cards in much worse shape than pictured above, and so have NM ONLY in my name because I've gotten played cards sent to me. However, NM does not mean pack fresh, as a lot of people assume it does.

I have noticed that these are the people that keep PM'ing me to offload their played dual lands. That I don't mind, since I'm in the market for played duals and specifically say that I am open to offers for played duals. I generally avoid sending to these individuals, though, since PT's condition guidelines give an inordinate amount of leeway to people who want to moan about barely noticeable wear.

I think the issue is that on PucaTrade's condition page, their description of NM is a pack-fresh card, their definition of SP is still what I personally consider NM- and accept at full price, and some of the pictures of their "MP" cards are SP+. If I received cards in the condition implied by PucaTrade's condition page under Slightly Played, I wouldn't give two looks before I accepted it.
But it's hard to know who demands pack-fresh and who accepts a more lenient standard, so it's difficult to send anything that isn't pristine.
However, NM does not mean pack fresh, as a lot of people assume it does.
If I get a card that has visible white wear on the borders, I definitely don't consider that to be NM. I usually let it go if it's a cheaper card and not a card I need for my collection, but it's still annoying when people who make a big deal out of getting NM cards send other people cards that definitely are not mint.
@Drifting Skies: I haven't had anyone PM me to try to offload anything yet. I added a bunch of foil dragons I need to my want list a while back hoping people would PM me and negotiate a price for them since I couldn't afford them, but it didn't work
Edit: Whoops, looks like I forgot to add my Tarn to my haves list. Man, that card has spiked recently. I had no idea.
I've found that a big profile notice that I am open to less than NM, coupled with having the points for the card so it shows up on people's "available trades" is what has helped me get seven dual lands committed in the last week and a half.
I don't think that NM duals move super fast, but played ones seem to move at a decent clip.

A few questions for the veterans using this website. Thanks for reading.
1.Is it easy to find traders if I exclusively trade within the USA?
2. If someone wants a card from you that cost less than postage, how do you progress since you're losing time and money in the long run?
3. Is it worth it to sign up for one of the premium membership if I am only interested in acquiring foil cards?
4. And are foil cards easy to acquire on Pucatrade?
1) Fairly easy. I've not sent outside of USA and not had too much issue with finding traders.
2) I don't commit to sending cards if they don't want enough stuff that I have. There's a 30 minute window to cancel trades after you've committed and sometimes, it gets used for just this reason.
3) If you want foils, you'll have to pay. Being able to float points to another can be useful for sending less-than-NM and bounties as well.
4) I have had some trouble getting foil Flusterstorms and a second foil Overgrown Tomb that I want. If you're looking for foil C/UC's or Standard, it's probably easier.

The foil thing really depends on what you're looking for. Someone agreed to send me a foil Wooded Foothills less than an hour after I added it to my wants. It took about half a day to get the judge Riku of Two Reflections I wanted. I've had quite a bit of trouble with random foil commons and uncommons that are cheap because people don't want to ship them due to the cost. I've been waiting about 5 days now for a foil TSP Nicol Bolas but haven't had any bites. I tried to pick up a few other foils that I was expecting to spike due to Tiny Leaders but no one would send me those either. I guess everyone was on the spec train with them.
Hey, <a slimy mod found a way of slapping my wrist>, lol. Can you just feel the love tonight?!?!
Anyhoo, these are HUGE changes that will just propel PT out of the water.
Funny thing happened while I was away in Las Vegas. I got an offer for a card that is "dog-eared." He offered 80% value and I imagined a very noticeable dog-eared look. So I tell him, to me a dog-eared card is more around 70% value, so he dropped the card from $2.00 tot $1.80. I accept his offer & we're both happy. I finally get to see the card he emailed a link of when I got home (Sprint stinks in Vegas, so tough to view images in emails).
The corner was barely even dog-eared. It was polite for him to mention something, but I think (& hope) in the future there is a way to share a cards condition directly through the site if you have your own pics.
Please leave personal feelings about other users, moderator or not, out of this thread. The proper way to handle a request for Solicitation is to send a PM to a moderator of that subforum so that it can be reviewed and okayed if appropriate before posting rather than to post it without checking and to goad the moderators into taking action on a post that otherwise would be fine.

I sent a PM to the mod regarding my post that was put in question a few pages back. Never heard back from him/her. So that option isn't really viable.
To be quite honest, speaking as a Social Media Manager for a large multinational company who gets dumped on every day, the mods here need thicker skin. Slapping these warnings do noting but alienate people from posting (hence why I have such a low post rate compared to how long I've been a member on these boards). It would go a long way if the mod would just brush off the comments or address them by defending his/her choice without using the safety net that is the red wall of text.
Anyways,
I'm wondering if someone can chime in. When KTK came out I started hoarding fetches (like almost everyone else); I didn't know about pucatrade at that point and was trading for them at around 20 bucks a pop for cards that weren't moving in my trade binder (modern staples).
I was hoarding them so that I could later flip them since they would be in demand. I was willing to take the hit (I knew they would drop but if I could move something easily, I was more than willing to do that). I'm still sitting on them but I feel that I could move them from stuff on my want list (primarily reserve list foils, dual lands, judge foils). How long do people think that the fetches will take to climb back up? Am I better off just taking the hit (some hits are larger than others, all my fetches are varied and total at about 25 cards) to get what I want now since these cards will theoretically go up in the near future?
Now is pretty much the absolute worst time to get rid of them. You'd be playing into the mantra of "buy high, sell low" and giving in to fear and worry. They will start to go up slowly from here on, but they will be pretty low in price through the next few months, as they will still be opened in small amounts during DDF drafts. It's also approaching a bad time to get into dual lands, since they always spike this time of the year on account of US tax filing season, when people are getting refunds and MTG players are throwing those refunds into the reserved list.

Went to a new shop from a friend's recommendation, DQ'ed for willful violation of CR 100.6b.
Have played duals? I have PucaPoints for them!
