Dang, man. How expensive were those cards? I only sent padded envelopes for orders over $100. Otherwise, the cost was too prohibitive and probably didn't add much protection over a simple sleeve in a toploader.
I'm not associated with that seller, I'm just a frequent and repeat customer. If those quantities are too high, split them with a friend. And (while this is not directed at you), anyone that feels a bubble envelope is cost prohibitive should probably not be dealing in Magic cards. It's a cost associated with being a good seller/trader, and at 6 for a dollar, the cost is negligible. These only require 1 stamp as well. I set the threshold on using/not using a bubble at $10 (and that's for the total package value, IE, a pair of $5 cards get a bubble.
How have things been for everyone here lately? I had great luck with Puca until recently. I was offering a 30% bonus on a decent chunk of cards for the last two months, with not a single card streaming in. Starting to just add some decent value cards to try and cash out (probably like many people).
I have had mixed luck. I am currently sitting on 15000 points roughly with a few trades here and there...sometimes with a week or so in between.
I have also had over 20000 points disappear overnight a few times in the past few months as well.
My wants are 450+ cards of mixed stuff. Some high end, some mid range, some low end. Staple cards as well as EDH jank as well as low end stuff I have been meaning to pick up just to have on hand.
A lot of what I have been getter is Kaladesh stuff recently, a few in the $15- $25 range, but most under $5.
I have been pretty active sending still, but I also have been keeping my wants pretty diverse on purpose to encourage traders to send me stuff. It seems to help a lot.
Just reduced the bonus I offer on stuff and still receiving cards. Wants are pretty diverses, from legacy/modern staples to kitchen table janky/weird stuff. Was sent over 85k worth of cards since september. Just started sending stuff to get more points. Have some 40k worth of cards in the mail or received. Just had a package committed with a Seachrome Coast and a Nykthos.

I think Pucatrade is getting worse. The slow down is insane and for cards that are being sent, a vast majority of them are bulk or overpriced standard uncommons. This isn't healthy at all.
It's unappealing no matter which way you slice it. Either you need to have a million different wants and the corresponding amount of points on your list which isn't realistic to expect from everyone, or you need to offer insane bounties which more or less prices out free users.
Pucatrade needs to unban user to user point sales. This was the straw that broke the camels back and drove away a lot of the power senders which was a major driving force of the economy and confidence of Pucatrade. Time to stop being stupid with all these band aid fixes like flux trading and what not, it won't help and probably antagonize the userbase even more.
I think those having success are those who have loaded up their want lists.
In hindsight, package trading certainly rewards those with large, varied want lists - it simply generates larger packages more frequently at the top of other people's send lists.

Exactly what I think. I've been filling my WANT list since I abandonned my project to finish my revised duals playset via Puca (at least, I still got 4 Seas, a Volcanic and a Plateau out of it ). I have multipiles decks laying around that I want to unproxy (70+ kitchen table decks), so that make it easy to find stuff to add to my want. I threw in some random modern playables/staples and Voila! Sitting on 721 WANTS and planning to add some more soon (still have 5 kitchen table deck to go through and 3 commanders).
I just get past a dry period, but it'S simply because my point total was so low I was not an attractive sending partner. Picked up again as soon as I get past 10k points.

Yah, there's certainly a magic number somewhere. I think it might be around 6k for me. last time I was over that, I had 4k of stuff sent to me in a week. I've been sitting around 4.5k for the last fortnight and had nothing (but I'm about to leap back over that 6k figure... I'll see what figure sets things off this time).
1) Been going back n' forth w/ the PT guy on Facebook & he's telling me how things will balance out over time; that this isn't the first time everyone felt like the last rat to abandon ship.
2) 3 Weeks ago I had a massive package of 5,000+ points worth of cards sent to me. And since them, I've had a consistent stream of singles coming in for my kitchen table decks. In fact, I was so low points, I had to stop my Bounty of 20% when I dropped down to 1,500 points, just in case I needed to doll some out.

Reporting back to say I got hit up before my points total even moved. I was able to send some stuff out for the first time in a week or so, so I'm wondering if some of the silver/gold members are starting the use the "active traders" filter in this way, and that's what prompted it? It was a gold member who broke my duck, so...
So perhaps the trick is now 1) have a massive want list, 2) have at least a few k of points, and 3) keep sending?

Active senders is a thing? That's somewhat irritating.
I have also found the best formula for getting trades to be a 4000+ points total and a large wants list. I specifically seem to get most of my packages that have a combination of little commons/uncommons and one or two larger cards. Having a combination so that people can send their extra bulk to earn a bonus is effective.
It has been helping me upgrade/complete EDH decks a lot recently.
If you ship a lot and frequently, you can get rewarded with more visibility. If you want a lot of cards for different formats, you get more chances to be picked in the "package" view (as Discard stated, people want to throw their extra bulk).
I'm liking how it turns out. It kind of rewards those who make the community live. I shipped nearly 550 cards last 4 weeks and I am currently waiting for 2 Gideons, a Berserk and a Nahiri. I already received some bigger cards, but not 3 standard staples like these in a single trade.

I don't know how this is possible but Pucatrade continues to disappoint. At a certain point, I have to wonder who exactly is responsible for these decisions and why that person opted to drink a bottle of lead paint every day.
This new "recommended" trader just punishes a vast majority of users. You know, the ones that have already sent cards and are stockpilling enough points to nab all their wants. If they don't send every so often, they get punished by no longer showing up on filters. Some people honestly believe these filters to be the real deal (evidenced by the reddit comments) and even more shocking is that new users, the ones that join after 11/11 are forced to use this filter unless they upgrade.
These guys are assembling the Rube Goldberg machine of trying to restore confidence in the market and community when really the simple fix is a statement to reallow point sales.
Agreed. If they could put in some mechanism to allow traders to sell points, or at least no longer expressly forbid it, PT would take off again in a moment. I know I'd be delighted to send cards like crazy if I thought I could cash in the points, even at a reduced rate.

Couldn't agree more. I'm sitting on 100k points still as a gold member and I still can't get anything sent my way despite a rather large want list. Now I'm being punished for not being "active". What about my past activity? That now counts for absolutely nothing? I used to be a top 15 sender (volume wise) on Puca, but now they expect me to keep sending when I can't get a single card sent to me? Bull****. Screw them and their backwards decisions. I'm done ever being an apologist for anything they do. For every good decision they make there's an equally bad one. I can't wait until 4 years from now (at this rate) when I've finally dwindled my point total down to nothing one mediocre card at a time and I can walk away and not care about this disaster any more.

Any Puca trades you can send me would be greatly appreciated! Big want list and lots of points available.
So since the switch over puca has completely died for me. I have 4000 points with over $700 dollars worth of wants covering all formats, some are janky commons or foil commons for my cube, others are standard cards and a few modern or EDH roll players. I was offering a bounty but my membership ran out and I can't justify buying back in when no one was sending anyway.
Could anyone do me a favor and see if I am actually appearing? I never had a problem until this update and now it has completely died. If someone could go to trade a dissension seal of fire and see if "read profile plz2" comes up as a receiver it would be greatly appreciated.
I see you. I looked through your want list, but was unable to help.
Thanks, I appreciate it. I actually was in the middle of changing my wants list so who knows what you actually saw. I was mostly just worried there was some setting I had missed and so I wasn't showing up.
I just went ahead and decided to send another $70 or so and just hope that the recent traders feature helps.
I wasn't able to help you b/c half of what you wanted were lands, and as an EDH-only player currently with 21 decks and 1 more under construction, I never trade away non-basics because odds are I'll need them again some time down the road. Good luck to you, Puca has been slow for me too, with only 2 cards received since late August. You're braver than I by continuing to send.
Bubble envelopes are not cost prohibitive.

The whol lot is worth around 25k points, plus 2k of bonus from receivers. Its mostly bulks and commons/unco with some standard playables.
Bubble mailers are only necessary if there is a large volume of cards in a single package.
