Did anyone see the release notes article from yesterday where they said that they're creating a "sweepstakes" that is intended to serve as a permanent point sink? Wasn't that just mentioned in this thread a few days ago? LOL!
I called it, lol. It was too good of an idea not to do. They need to keep members, free or paid, regardless.
I am guessing that there are more issues than we think, tip of the iceberg. I have 3 on my list, been there since the day before the prerelease. Now a bit ticked... I would have taken mthem off of you. Might be 1 of the reasons my wants from Kaladesh aren't being grabbed... cards on package lists aren't fully visible.
Sorry I should have mentioned that I haven't been receiving any cards from the US for over 12 months now and therefore have been limiting my sending to the Asia Pacific region. I would be more inclined to send to the US again, if people started sending me cards from here. But without offering a bonus/bounty, I doubt US senders would bother with the international postage.
Edit: when pucatrade used to order send list my members points, my balance used to keep me near the top. Then the gold and silver members dramatically increased and before I knew it, i was buried under the send page. The bonus and bounty just made it worst. I'm only receiving domestic packages now.

Even Canadians can scarcely get American senders to send; Australia would be a huge uphill climb from there. The majority of cards I've received in the past year are from fellow Canadians. The US has 10x the population but seemingly the incremental extra cost and delay of shipping to Canada causes a great deal of American senders to untick us in the filter.

Hey, no worries. I see that a lot of the major issues have been fixed. I do anticipate more problems in the future, but they have been good at fixing these big issues; so I have faith the small ones in the future will be dealt swift justice. It's just taking time to get the ball rolling again. Future Site was almost like a refresh button.
Anyone else experiencing major slowdowns in receiving? I've received maybe 1 envelope in the past 2 months. I think future site may have done some major damage to the userbase.
Similar to when this site was bought out by curse. My sales thread used to do 2-3 sales a week, now I'm lucky if I do 1 a month. I still miss the old MTGS layout and function.

for weeks, i've been adding cards every day to my wants list. everything I could thing of - even random stuff I only have niche uses for. no bites.
the last legit trade I received was in April of this year, so essentially half a year... I've had a stacked wants list this whole time, and it's continually growing on the offchance that someone will send *something*
but nope. nothing. as a service I paid money for, it's utterly useless. I'm inclined to seek my subscription fee back from Puca just on principal. Even before April, there was significant slowdown. the last time I was seriously able to shift cards in and out of my collection on a deck-wide scale was summer 2015. around that time it seemed to be very easy to trade away almost anything and receive what you needed in return.
now it's difficult to even see who wants cards, much less trade intuitively using the site. what a farce!

Yeah, that's quite a shame, actually. Trading/buying/selling on here just doesn't feel the same anymore.
Reprints the one card that people point to when saying that art objectifies women.
Well done Wizards.
Liliana does not objectify women in any way at all. We have gotten to a point in our society that every single picture of a women must be objectifying a women in some negative way......blah blah blah.. That is not the case. (((Sarcasm)))Picture of a girl drinking a milk shake, must be sex related and putting women down, picture of girl sitting on a beach, picture of a girl driving a car, picture of a girl on the moon at a new space station.)))
You have a picture of an attractive strong power women who girls dress up as for anime conventions. What more do you want? The picture is fine, happy to see a reprint. Sick of of seeing people claim that everything in existence must be putting women down. Then all I have to do is replace the word "women" with anything else to get the same mentality; fish, cats, arabs, blacks, jews, men, environment, whites, chinese, old people, etc. It doesn't matter what word I put in. Stop sucking life out of everything man. That artwork of her is awesome. Stop putting stuff down man. Just stop. If the picture was really as negative as you claim she would totally nude, in a kitchen, making sandwiches and giving blow jobs. Her abilities would be horrible as well. +1 do nothing -2 do nothing -6 do nothing. Instead liliana of the veil is an amazing planeswalker comparable to jace, the mind sculpter with great art to appreciate.

Yeah, that's quite a shame, actually. Trading/buying/selling on here just doesn't feel the same anymore.
MTGsal's trading post switch to curse actually has some similarities to FS. The curse version was clunky in UI and the search function was arguably worse than the old version. There was talks to upgrade the trading post as soon as it came out and continued for a month but so far, nothing has been done and consequently people stopped using it.

This, along with the uprise of facebook trade groups essentially killed trading here.
I've also opted out of Puca now. Can't see myself going back anytime soon the way things are going.
Pucatrade was nice while it lasted. Got a couple fetchlands, a Wasteland, 3x Nahiri, the Harbinger a few weeks before GP Charlotte, a pair of K-Commands, Celestial Colonnade...it was pretty solid for a bit. I've burned myself on the site a couple times though -- trading in 2 Wastelands in hopes of getting 2 new-art Wastelands. Ended up only ever getting sent 1 and having to settle for full-art Helix/Leaks/etc.
My problem with Puctrade is the wait. There's no telling when you'll get the card you want. Though that was fine maybe in early 2015-mid 2015, it's not really acceptable now. 1-2 months is kinda ok...sometimes a little longer for bigger wants is fine...2-3 months isn't the worst thing ever...but if it's taking 4+ months to get anything, then until you "cash in the pucapoints," you're stuck with useless currency.
There's a line between patience and being a chump IMO. If it takes 4+ months to move the points to the Wasteland/Dark Confidant/whatever it is that you want...IMO you can just sell/trade away the card you don't want and get the card you need in that same time-frame, if not sooner.
Exact dollar values might not match up, but IMO time's a precious resource you can't afford to just waste.

Yeah, that about nails it. Also, though it's not perfect, I wouldn't mind using the current MTGS website for trading if the traffic and activity on here was higher; I've done several trades on here with the new website and it's alright. It's not perfect, but it got the job done.
These days finding people who actually have the stuff I want is the hard part.

I can't seem to find many good Facebook trading groups; most are local players and they don't always have what I need. lol I kinda liked having a (seemingly) near-global scale of trading. But I may just be biased.

Maybe I'm being an alarmist, but this seems like another nail in the coffin. I really don't understand the motivation for this when you have a slew of people looking to cash out. Oh, I can dump all of my remaining points into a raffle, maybe win a dual land, and then never bother coming back to the site again because I'm at zero? Sure!
If their economy was strong, then give something like this a shot, but with the overwhelmingly negative attitude in the PucaTrade community this seems like you're offering a suicidal person a pile of explosives on which to lay and detonate.
They're trying to reduce the number of points they have at any given time in the system.
That's... interesting. I don't know how I feel about it. I suppose promoting scarcity of currency is probably an effective mechanism for instigating more trades, but the community is showing a significantly inflated sense of doubt in the market. I don't know how well those play together.

I had the impulse to dump all of my points into sweepstakes entries, lol. I decided to only enter 10 times though.
Hopefully the combination of these efforts to remove points from the system will help to reduce the inflation we've been experiencing. I have a little more hope than previously, as these seem like they will have a real impact on point totals. I think last I checked there were 1800 entries and it had only been up for a few hours.

Oh, I can dump all of my remaining points into a raffle, maybe win a dual land, and then never bother coming back to the site again because I'm at zero? Sure!
That is absolutely what I did. I've been in vacation mode since the launch of the new site, and now I can leave without worrying about money left on the table.
I sold off nearly the rest of my points. I've got one bounty left to cover, then I'll put the rest into the lottery to finish it off and give it a rest for a while. I'm not opposed to maybe coming back in the future, but puca is in a bad place right now.
The lotteries will destroy a lot of points but that doesn't necessarily mean the remaining points will gain any value. The more I think about the state of the site the more I'm convinced that the only thing that will restore the value of puca points is an officially sanctioned way to sell points for cash. I'm also convinced that point sales and premium memberships can no longer sustain the site financially and advertising revenue is the only viable method for the site to stay out of the red.
Unfortunately the admins' have colossal egos so the chances that they'll pull a complete 180 on point selling and plaster ads all over the new interface they're so enamored with are slim to none. I've once again lowered the threshold for points I'm willing to float to an absolute max of 2500, with no sending unless I'm below 1000, so I'm functionally just getting out now.
I never really like entering lotteries, but I guess I'll give away 100 points and see what happens. 3000 entries now
I believe Puca gave you and every other member 500 points when you joined, so giving back 100 points with a chance to win a dual land isn't such a bad thing.
... and my Puca Train is still running hard. I've had two Oblivion Sowers and two Thunderbreak Regents committed in my direction since last report, all from within Australia.
Apparently, the Aussies are still utterly punishing Puca... but it looks like they're mostly sending internally to Australia ATM.
What do we all think of the "Please remove bounties from your username, and pay to have your most wanted card highlighted" move? I think I like it. Strikes a nice balance.

I would be for that. It will allow free members to sort-of-have bounties, w/ a PT Staffer needing to intervene to get the exchange going.
So, the most wanted, highlighted cards would get, let's say, any automatic 10% tagged on?
Maybe a way to have a bounty percentage tagged on per card. For instance, I want a Taiga, but a 10% bounty is a bit much, so I put a 4% bounty and it get's highlighted? Hmmm... but then (just realized), everyone will be fighting to get to the top of the list. Then searches start to feel like Google web searches, where the highest bounty gets on top. But if the "bounties" (or percentage increases) were across the board equal, then the person who is stuck at the bottom of the highlighted list will complain that he's at the end and barely visible.
I'm for the idea if they can make it fare. Maybe have the list always randomized when it is viewed? Would need an RNG working overtime for that.
Sigh...this is so depressing. Pucatrade was my one salvation to keep playing Magic. I just can't spend money on this game like I used to, so for the past several years I've been using Pucatrade to dump off my old cards that I stored up from the Mirrodin/Rav/Time Spiral era that spiked in price. This let me continue to play Standard, build new/upgrade old EDH decks and pick up cards now and again for my Dragon/Planeswalker collection without having to spend much money at all. Now I can't seem to get anything at all. I've got everything from cheap Standard playables to recently reprinted Modern staples to Commander wants and junk foil wolf cards on my Wants and no one is really sending me anything. I can't find anywhere to trade online anymore.
I called it, lol. It was too good of an idea not to do. They need to keep members, free or paid, regardless.
