... I'd still consider it very incomplete... No, I'm not 100% sure on these figures...
Again, where are the cold, hard stats? If you're going to ride someone else's opinion (even if it is one backed up with a level of research), why bother to come in here with it? If you don't believe in Puca's usefulness, don't use the site. As far as I'm concerned, so long as Puca continues to allow me to be generous with the cards I'm not using and get something of a level of value back in response, it's working just fine.
Honestly, I think half the problem is that some of the more Spike-y people come onto Puca expecting it to be the Holy Grail of MtG finance. It's not. But if you come onto Puca expecting it to be the world's biggest traders' hall full of awesome people, and you come on with an expectation of being generous without expecting too much in response, Puca will always deliver for you. As soon as you get some sense of entitlement on there (e.g. "why is no-one sending me any fetches? This site sucks"), you're down the slippery slope.
There are plenty of stats in those links, while i dont fully agree with his conclusion i do agree with the stats he is posting, much easier to post a link then rewritting it all. This isnt about not getting a specific card it is about the premise of the site, its complete nonsense. The bottom line is that the site was built on extremely unsustainable economic ideas that are pretty much guaranteed to collapse it in the long run leaving everyone with pucapoints holding the bag while the site owners get their money.
Just out of curiosity when it does fold and all the people you convinced it wasnt a scam are pissed off at you, then what? Did you google 99gamers, how about goosex, this isnt a new idea its just new to magic the gathering, thousands if not millions of people have already been taken by pretty much the exact same idea with a different skin on the site. If money doublers came back around would you encourage people to do that too?

I think you underestimate the generosity of a lot of people in the Magic community. The financial aspect may turn against those who use the site to grow their cardbase in a monetary sense, but there will always be people willing to trade cards to each other. MOTL begat the MTGS Market Street begat PucaTrade etc. etc. While there are always those willing to be generous with their cards and willing to trade, Puca will always have its place (even if its financial aspects go up and down like any economy).
So this may be off topic but is there anywhere here to post a thread for help trading? i'm at the last point of foiling out my bant eldrazi deck and have all my resources tied up in pucatrade.
It has nothing to do with the generosity of the magic community, actually thats whats going to make the whole thing even sadder in the end. Yes there will always be people trading on the legit sites like MOTL & here on the market street, these are both examples of legitimate trading sites that have not sold out their users for their own short term financial gain, pucatrade on the other hand thinks they can print infinite amounts of points devaluing what you already have without it crashing the site, they are simply wrong as has been proven by the exact same idea in other niches in the past (not to mention world history in general). By creating points as it suits them the points will trend toward there true value of nothing and will eventually kill the site.
Those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it...

You may think that's what's happening.
I don't.
Let's end this argument before it gets any more circular, shall we? I think it's fair to say that most people on this thread are interested in talking about how to use Puca efficiently, not what non-users think of the economic model behind it.

So you have no argument and just want to put your fingers in your ears and yell lalalala, got it... Have fun loosing your stuff. Ill be sure and stop by to tell you i told you so in a few months. On the upside its nice to know that you have nothing of value to say and i no longer need to waste time reading your posts in any threads...

One more thing i dont care if you want to end the argument, obviously that would be to your benifit as you are wrong and have no real argument. Puca is obviously a scam and i intend to tell people this if you dont like it that is tough
Does anyone know whether MTGO tickets and boosters will be tradable once Future Site lands? Are common members still getting foils and watch list like the first few articles promised?

I think non singles are a big question on everyone's mind. If they fix the price of a ticket at $1 then it does little to handle inflation since people will have to put riders to get tickets. If they let it float then it will become very obvious what the true value of a pucapoint is.

Out of the blackness and stench of the engulfing swamp emerged a shimmering figure. Only the splattered armor and ichor-stained sword hinted at the unfathomable evil the knight had just laid waste.
Common members are only able to get foils if the card exists only in foil, like FTV cards for example.
Is that new in Future Site, is it? (I dunno... I didn't have a preview of the site, so I'm eagerly awaiting it coming up and unleashing its awesomeness)
So I guess that means FtV, Duel Deck face cards, Intro Deck face cards etc. etc., but what about FNM promos?
So this may be off topic but is there anywhere here to post a thread for help trading? i'm at the last point of foiling out my bant eldrazi deck and have all my resources tied up in pucatrade.
Sorry, missed this one amidst all the excitement up-thread.
I can't say there's a post in this thread anywhere, but I'm sure plenty of us here can help you. What are you interested in help with, specifically?
Understandable! I've been following the excitement for a while and hoping our bubble doesnt pop and that future site makes everything run smoother and a little longer.
I appreciate any help on this so thank you all!
the last few things on the want list are:
Birds of Paradise (Buy-a-Box Promo)
Breeding Pool (expedition)
Flooded Grove (expedition)
4x Cavern of souls (Foil)
4x (playset) Path to exile (either WPN or FNM)
2x Matter Reshaper (foil)
1x Eldrazi Skyspawner (Foil)
Just in case anyone is unaware, the site will be up at 3pm PDT for rare (gold) members.

Wait, can you link an official statement from pucatrade for this.
I was told a couple months ago by the reddit pucatrade community manager that common members can trade and receive foils freely of any kind.
One of the older future site posts said that several premium features, including receiving foils, would be free once the new site launched and both insurance and the new dibs feature would be premium. The most recent posts didn't mention anything about receiving fouls. There has to be a common member who logged in during the up time earlier that can tell us whether they kept that promise.
I certainly hope they kept that promise, it was one of the more reliable ways of getting foils both obscure and high end without having to go buy them. When I reverted back to common from a year of free silver, I stockpiled points after confirmation from pucatrade that common can receive foils waiting for future site.

I thought the same as you, but there have been multiple people on Reddit that says it will be handled as I stated, with access only to cards that exist only in foil form. So, no, I can't provide the source, but poking around Reddit will probably give you the source.
Understandable! I've been following the excitement for a while and hoping our bubble doesnt pop and that future site makes everything run smoother and a little longer.
Eh, I don't think it will ever truly burst. TBH, I look at the classical statement that if WotC started putting $50 bills in the boosters, people would complain how they were folded. It's the same with Puca - PucaTrade essentially gives away about $3.50 worth of free cards, and people are complaining about the model they use to do it (i.e. people will complain about anything).
I think I've got a Rest in Peace somewhere out of that list. I'll just need to wait for the site to go fully live for common members again before I can get onto it, obviously.
So apparently, it seems that Pucatrade switched their stance on foils from two months ago.
Which sucks, confidence in the site is low and imposing artificial barriers to trade does not help at all. It might even hurt because people sure as hell aren't getting legacy and modern cards easily, even standard and EDH are coming in slower which is not a good sign at all. The foil market is usually small locally and baring luck, vendors and stores are where most people resort to getting foils. Pucatrade could've been an amazing place to build a niche foil trading community but I don't think that's going to happen with the continued premium membership barrier.
Memberships is a primary source of income for them though, and the foil restriction is a good way to encourage paid membership, at least at the Silver level. It's nice to have things for free, but that doesn't keep the lights and the servers on. The ability to get foils is why I've been a paying silver member for the last 18 months. Were that available at the Common level, I doubt I'd still be paying for the service. Is it disappointing, yes, because I'm planning on going to Common when my 2nd year expires in April of '17 and would welcome the chance to still receive foils, but I don't think it's unreasonable.

I agree that people complain about WOTC choices for expeditions. Thats free money in the boosters.
I am a rare member on the site, and i really dislike the new site so far.
i have dual lands on my wants with the points, but don't show up when i see who wants the card.
The loading screen for my outgoing trades takes time to load, and has the item numbers out of order when i sort by recipient.
it also doesn't show me what country im sending to either.
The messages link doesn't work this morning, however it worked last night.
Have any other rare members run into similar issues?
edit:
i can confirm that as of now, only premium members can receive foils.

I certainly think there are ways to have tiered membership that doesn't restrict receiving cards which is what drives this system. Right now, people aren't using pucatrade or are hesitant because cards are not being sent nearly as frequently as they were about a year ago.
If a variety of cards were flying off of people's wants list then sure, limiting foils would make sense because at least people were "guaranteed" something else. But as it stands, limiting trading at the core level is certainly not helping their slowdown situation at all.
Just managed to get in (silver member), and I have to wonder if they did any usability tests with Future Site. There are a lot of readability and font choice problems that could stand to be addressed.
Seems like their pricing and availability data isn't quite right at the moment but I'm guessing they just need to sync up a bit now that the migration is done.
Wow, I've been a big supporter of Puca in ALMOST every regard, but hot damn the new site makes me want to put toothpicks in my eyes. What an ugly ass mess. Thanks so much for the 2pt. font.
