Had my first real douchebag experience on Puca this past week (been on Puca for well over a year). Had a guy send me a foil FS Narcomoeba. When I received it, it had a shuffle crease that was clearly visible on the back without close inspection. I opened a case and added pictures to show the damage. I asked to return the card. His response was "Well, this is a self-fulfilling prophecy. I should have known when I read your uninviting profile." My profile says a few things:
1. It spells out my 12% bounty on all my Wants and lets people know that they won't receive it if they can't ship on time.
2. It asks that all cards be NM as that is what Puca specifies in their rules.
3. It asks that people use adequate postage due to the fact that I have received more than 50 envelopes that were Postage Due.
That's it. Nothing goofy or strange. No special requests. I replied to the guy and asked him what was so uninviting about that? He seems to think that the trade problem was due to my profile and not to his failure to inspect the card before sending. He admitted that he didn't look at the back of the card, and that he never checks the card backs before sending. He then cancelled the trade and blocked me. And, this guy is a Silver member (which used to mean something).
Does anyone see anything I did wrong here? I can't figure out how someone could be that delusional.

I tend to be put off by people with any specifications in their profile. It generally means that they're really picky. That said, your profile doesn't seem to be particularly different than what most people want. If anything, a 12% bounty should make it more inviting.
He's the one that didn't bother to even look at his damn card before sending, yet he's blaming your profile on this one...doesn't make much sense to me. Idk, if there's ever a problem, a simple "trade back" then moving on with each other's lives shouldn't have been a big deal.
1. The dude should have just been like, "My b."
2. You send the card back
3. Everybody moves on with their lives.
That's how it should have gone.
Now if we start doing things like "negative refs" and going out of our way to grief each other...that's when I have a problem.
Reprints the one card that people point to when saying that art objectifies women.
Well done Wizards.
Liliana does not objectify women in any way at all. We have gotten to a point in our society that every single picture of a women must be objectifying a women in some negative way......blah blah blah.. That is not the case. (((Sarcasm)))Picture of a girl drinking a milk shake, must be sex related and putting women down, picture of girl sitting on a beach, picture of a girl driving a car, picture of a girl on the moon at a new space station.)))
You have a picture of an attractive strong power women who girls dress up as for anime conventions. What more do you want? The picture is fine, happy to see a reprint. Sick of of seeing people claim that everything in existence must be putting women down. Then all I have to do is replace the word "women" with anything else to get the same mentality; fish, cats, arabs, blacks, jews, men, environment, whites, chinese, old people, etc. It doesn't matter what word I put in. Stop sucking life out of everything man. That artwork of her is awesome. Stop putting stuff down man. Just stop. If the picture was really as negative as you claim she would totally nude, in a kitchen, making sandwiches and giving blow jobs. Her abilities would be horrible as well. +1 do nothing -2 do nothing -6 do nothing. Instead liliana of the veil is an amazing planeswalker comparable to jace, the mind sculpter with great art to appreciate.
My suggestion listen to some comedy radio for a while, pandora is free, youtube is free there is something out there for you. ***** go make fun of somebody. The whole world is so serious and campaigning for some cause, or someones rights, everything is a hate crime, racist, sexist. blah blah blah.
"O no mcdonalds must be slandering a hate crime against skinny people every time they make a big mac." hahaha jeeze You're just someone perpetuating another groups negative perspective that they've made you believe is correct. Look at the picture for a hour and tell me what's wrong with it? I don't see anything.
I have heard vague rumors of a moustache-dispensing vending machine in a distant laundromat, across the street from a tattoo parlor. However, this information is shaky, and time is of the essence.
Thanks. I agree with you, it should have been a simple return due to condition, but he went out of his way to mention my profile and shift blame from his not inspecting the card to my profile. Then, he blocked me.
I also agree that people with seventeen conditions in their profile are a pain, and I tend to avoid them. I don't have time to make sure that I only use a specific type of tape or only tape in a specific place. I try to keep my profile clean and just lay out the bounty, talk about postage, and reiterate Puca's policy on card condition. I don't expect Gem Mint, just NM (and I know what NM means).
Well, that's it, I'm done with this *****. Pucatrade is really running dry for me with the past few months only receiving cards that have spiked and little else. I got swindled for about 80k in points by now due to this. And of course it always happens when I'm sleeping since the prices are based on the american market so I can't react to anything (I feel gold memebership is still too expensive for what it offers, even when I look back). The only positive thing I take away from this is that I now don't have to look for somebody to sell my points to.
Well, it was a good run as long as it lasted. Back to MCM for my trading needs.
what happened to Grafdiggers' Cage? It has doubled in price the past two days...
It is great against both the previous top deck - Collected Company - and last weekend's top deck, Nahiri, the Harbinger. Everyone who wants to have good sideboard options is picking them up. While they aren't a format staple, they are going to be important SB cards as dictated by the meta for all of time.
A fair warning to people on pucatrade. With the spoilers for eternal masters coming up here very soon, the sort of situation that occurred with force of will and wasteland when they were initially spoiled (causing the cards to drop in price and people to dump them quickly to people on wants lists before their puca values dropped.) is likely to occur for a ton of other cards as they get spoiled in EMA. So be careful with your pucatrade wants lists if you are not wanting to end up overpaying vs. what the cards will likely be able to be gotten for post-spoilers/post-set-release. While I am not personally on pucatrade, and thusly don't know if there is something in place to avoid a situation where the cards will drop significantly in value due to a reprinting announcement like that, It might not be a terrible idea to look through the current want lists and be very careful what you pick and choose to be on there if you are concerned that some of them might get reprinted. Anyhow just something to keep in mind.
Ugh... Has pucatrade completely ground to a halt for anyone else here? I wonder how long after the full EM spoiler is up it will take for cards to start flowing again...

Yeah, my want list has sat unmoving for a week or so now with very little coming in. It's good to know Puca goes in cycles, I was starting to wonder if I would have to just break down and buy the singles I wanted. :/
Shocks and KTK fetches on my list I do not actually expect will move. Their waiting lists are enormous. I keep them on there just in case, but will probably, slowly but surely, buy them from my LGS or online.
I want-listed some FRF mythics the other day, and they were fufilled almost immediately. I imagine the (near) standard sector of cards is probably flowing without interruption by eternal masters.
Has anyone here received a PucaTrade Bug with their cards? If so, I'd love to know, since I'm the guy who has sent out over 150 of them.
PucaTrade Bugs are like geocaching travel bugs. Each is a sheet of paper which contains a record of its travel from one person to the next. Receive a bug, add your info, send it off with your next trade. To make it interesting, I name each bug after a Magic set and sketch the set symbol on it.
I started sending out PucaTrade Bugs back when the site was in beta and the community was a lot smaller. On the old PucaTrade forums, people would let me know when they got a bug and sent it out. As I recall, I sent the "Mirage" Bug to the founder Eric and he passed it on.
I'd love to see some PucaTrade bugs which have been in circulation for a while. Let me know if you've seen one!
Unfortunately, although I've received 950 cards so far and my first trade was September 2013, I've yet to receive a bug.
These days I'm mostly trading in Modern mid-level cards and dumping pre-release cards rares. Maybe they move in other circles.
Been using pucatrade since beta (used to be in the top 10 traders list but have dropped off considerably as the site grew). Only received 642 cards though and I have never gotten a Bug too.

Tell it to me, I had cashed out but re-opened for some Duel Deck/Commander cards that are impossible to get in Mexico because local stores don't open decks for singles and they don't sell at Wal Mart. Completely zero hits for months other than a guy who didn't even send the cards, sent a Shock and added more cards to my wants to see if people were just avoiding sending to 500's and still no luck.
If I don't have any movement a month after EMA is out I'll just try to sell the points and leave for good.
I've been moving cards like a madman recently. Lots of pauper stuff going out but wants list is modern/foil EDH stuff so thats pretty slow (got a shock though recently).
On another note, it seems after about a year of pucatrade giving me free uncommon membership (for whatever reason), they finally reverted me back to common. Anyone else have that happen to them too? Was it a bug or just a gift thing that perhaps early users got?
I`m considering giving Puca a go, but I have a question. Is it hard to get very popular and sought after cards, like fetches and Wasteland? Right now I mostly need a set of EMA Wasteland, and I`m not sure if I can reasonably expect to get them because everyone and their mother probably wants them after release. I`d like to know before I turn my cards to points that I don`t really have anything else to spend on. Is there anything I can do to easier receive some Wastelands for my points? How does that work?

Right after EMA drops will be THE time to get Wastelands on Puca. Everyone that opens one will dump them immediately to get value to use on stuff they do want. The market will be flooded with them for a short period, then they will dry up.
Fetches on the other hand will be very difficult. I had a 10% bounty for fetches and I was still waiting in line forever.

I had my uncommon membership reset to common about 2 months ago after not paying for it for almost a year. I'm not sure if it was intentional or not to let it go that long.

You can change your screen name at any time. My screen name on there right now is Rondiggity 12%. A week ago, it was Rondiggity 10%. It makes it easy to find the best deals when scrolling through a list of hundreds of people wanting cards. You can also change your name to something like "LP okay" to signal to people that you will take lightly played cards at full value to attract people to send cards to you.

I'm not sure either, I asked and I think it was hinted that people that spent money for Pucatrade last year (early in their dev) regardless of the indiegogo campaign was given extended silver. Indiegogo backers were definitely given extended silver membership
Either way i'm kinda annoyed because foils was the one thing Pucatrade was good for but you don't get them right away, you sit around and wait for them and that shouldn't cost you money. I asked on the subreddit and the admin told me that the new site will not have the foil restriction for basic members. Just not sure when the new site will roll around because I had points stockpiled for a foil shardless agent from EMA....
I would say it depends on your patience level. If you want fetches right away, you are probably out of luck. That being said, you will get them. I look for mostly Cube items on PT, and have gotten them (fetches, Show and Tell, Mox Diamond, etc.). But if you are expecting to wait a few days and get a hit, you will probably be disappointed (example, I've had Liliana of the Veil on my list for months and no takers. I guess it's kind of like fishing
I started using Pucatrade, unloaded a bunch of cards. Is there a good resource to find traders who want to trade me some sealed commander decks, archenemy, etc? Even complete but unsealed sets would be great.
Is there any way to look at a prospective trade partner's address prior to confirming a card? I have a mid-value, in demand card I would like to offload, but would like to trade with someone in the same city, state, or region if possible.
Does anyone have any idea why it's so hard to get cards from the 2015 Commander precons and why no one seems to want to trade off the BFZ manlands? It seems like hardly anyone has ANY of the C15 cards for trade. I know the decks weren't as value heavy as previous years, but were they really that unpopular? It took me an eternity to get some of the commanders and uncommons from them and I still have rares and uncommons and tokens from the decks rotting on my want list. I can't believe those cards are in such short supply. It's also taken me forever to get a playset of the new Zendikar manlands.
