I did a trade a while back for a foreign Chandra and Choke. After a few weeks, we both reached out to each other to see what had happened. He apologized that he forgot to send it out. It never bothered me as I still needed cards from my want list.
I followed up a few weeks later saying that I haven't seen anything yet. He said he mailed it out with a batch of others and they have turned them all in.
We waited another week and still nothing. I felt awful and the mods accepted our claim as lost mail.
After a month had gone by, my wife had left mail in one of her older purses. Guess what...it was in there. I've tried to contact him, but after a few times, nothing. I have the points to reimburse him. But I am not silver so I can't gift. I want to give credit - how can I do it?

I tried contacting Puca Trade, but since they updated that they'd have MTGO cards to trade/receive a year ago, I haven't heard anything since then. Does anyone know when the ETA is that they will be putting these up (as well as foreign cards and cards of varying conditions)?
Last update was a couple of weeks ago, when they said they had about a month's worth of testing left before they sent it live.
I don't think it's that far away (and yes, I am working myself into a lather in anticipation too).
How long did you have to wait and how much of a bounty did you have to offer? I'm finally at flooded strand points and waiting for a bite but it seems a bit hopeless due to how large the demand is.

If someone agrees to send and the price moves before they send, how do you guys handle them cancelling the trade?
I had a number of Oath trades initiated Saturday that requested to cancel when the price changed on the cards that did well at the PT
If they agreed to send, they are obligated to do so. If you choose to let them off the hook, that's your prerogative.
This is correct. It's against the rules of Pucatrade to cancel a trade due to a price change.
Obviously it's easy to get around this by making up some other excuse, such as their inventory being inaccurate with their actual collection, but if they actually told you it was because of price then they're dead to rights and have to send.

It seems like there are a lot of inventory issues with cards which did well at the pro tour.
I trade a fair bit on Pucatrade (over $4000 sent/received), and these inventory issues seem to crop up whenever there is a price change and no other time.
There's definitely a correlation, though I'll admit to some sloppy bookkeeping on my part that has, on more than one occasion, led me to commit to send something I didn't end up having to send.

This is actually pretty scary, combined with signup points, etc. PucaInflation is a real concern. They are essentially printing money but have no money sinks -- the points stay in the system forever.

That's not printing money--they take the points from the sender who cancels.
Also there are money sinks--people who stop using the service with points still in their account.

I for one, am happy to see that such senders are going to have to have consequences for their choice to not send, or, as the case may be, having issues keeping track of their inventory properly. At the end of the day, its each senders responsibility to check and double check their inventory before they ever agree to a trade, and to not trade/sell/otherwise cards they have agreed to send after they have spiked and then attempt to cancel.
I've been on both sides of such spikes. I've seen cards spike and had people buy me out (which I always shipped no matter what), and have bought into spikes and had a lot of orders cancelled over the years. Excuses are common, and some are more legitimate than others, at the end of the day though you tend to find out who the honest senders/sellers are real quick when spikes occur. (One common thing I've run into is that when a card spikes senders/sellers will send out cards in lesser condition than advertised, knowing that in most cases the buyer/receiver will be in a no-win situation of either keeping the card because it spiked and they wont have the option to get others at the previously lower price, or the receiver/buyer can send it back due to the condition but will only receive a refund equal to what they paid (and possibly return shipping costs).
Awesome, thanks for sharing Dave! Did you just have it randomly sent to you via your want list, or did you have to do anything extra to get attention to yourself?

True, I read too quickly and missed that part. At least that's reasonable (and punitive, which is appropriate). I'm still worried about inflation on PucaTrade because of the hefty points bonuses you get by signing up for the Silver/Gold levels -- as well as new player bonuses and any future promotions they come up with.
P.S. - PokerkingDave, that's awesome. Did you generate your points entirely by trading on PucaTrade, or did you buy some points to supplement?

I expect there'll be an even bigger one once Future Site comes online with MTGO support. I recall the guys revealing that the PucaTrade bot would allow buying tix with PucaPoints. If that becomes a thing, it surely becomes one of the quicker and easier ways of monetizing your PucaPoints. I'd imagine a lot of people would probably get on that bandwagon pretty quickly if it came online.

All points were earned the hard way. I just kept grinding out trades, mostly in the $3-10 range with I'm estimating 80% of individual cards sub 100 points. My average outgoing trade on pucatrade was 387 points.

I do share the concerns many are echoing here regarding PucaPoint inflation. I've had a Sword of Body and Mind on my wants list for a few days now and I was expecting it to be fulfilled immediately. I see now that there's actually a line of people waiting for it. 6 months ago that card would have been snagged before I could refresh the page.
If people aren't in any rush to ship a $12 mythic with no constructed applications from a relatively recent set (with a second printing to boot!), PucaPoints just aren't that attractive anymore.
This is actually pretty scary, combined with signup points, etc. PucaInflation is a real concern. They are essentially printing money but have no money sinks -- the points stay in the system forever.
Maybe I'm being a conspiracy theorist on this one, but doesn't everyone else think that the PucaTrade creators have been giving themselves the points they need for whatever they want? I know that's exactly what I'd be doing if I created it.

The creators have expended a massive amount of work (and capital) to create this system. It is highly unlikely they would game it for a few hundred dollars in cards. Additionally, if they were doing this their accounts would have more points and people would be sending them expensive cards.
