Is it really worth it sending less than a dollar worth of commons/uncommons/junk rares overseas? I would think it would be better to just save the money used on stamps and put it towards buying a card at that point. I can't even let myself send less than $1 worth of cards to people in the US.

I don't. I need $7.50 to send overseas and $1.50 USA. The whole process does involve patients... don't feel any need to rush a trade out that doesn't feel like it's worth it. Right now there are a bunch of people with $1-$3 in credit and wants that are either $.50 or $25. The goal is to pounce when the stuff they sent is received, they go up to $XX, and then you send them the bigger stuff. Lots of new people though means that a lot of the people on there are waiting for credit.

Sounds about right. I got overly excited and did a few I regret, but I've sent out about 6 envelopes so far and have 4 more to go out Monday. Can't wait to get my credit because it'll be enough to net me a couple of fetches (hopefully they continue to dip throughout next week!). I could have picked up over 14,000 points the other day by sending a guy my two Noble Hierarchs but I was too afraid to do it.
I was happy when the guy I was already sending 7 dollars worth of stuff reloaded his account with credits and I was able to pack on even more. I wouldn't bother with anything less than double the price of shipping.
This sounds interesting, i just was wondering if the community can let me know I'm on the right track?
So i sign up for an account, get $4/400 points. I send cards to people, this will add points, so say 100 points for a $1 card.
A NM Force of Will has a TCGPlayer mid $85.50 so if I accumulate 8,500 Points, I could then search have lists for someone with a NM Force of Will and "buy" with my points, then if the person accepts, have it shipped?
My only "real" question is can a person accept bulk or does that work out? Or in the same light, is it worth listing bulk rares/mythics to grind the potential $0.25-0.75? How about those "just above bulk" types like Shivan Dragon which are still solid $1 rares but nobody will ever want them and vendors try to give you a bulk rate on anyway?
If i'm getting this right, I should check this out. As i'm already trying to filter out my binder full of casual cards for decent staples, this would definitely be a nice system to convert them with rather than having to grind Ebay or have them rot in a binder because my LGS mostly want standard cards rather than EDH, Legacy and non format staple Modern playables. Plus if I ever get way too many points it seems easy enough to convert them into something stable like a fetchland or Snapcaster Mage like someone mentioned in the thread, which a lot of times I'd rather have a dozen $10 cards in my binder than 50 $2-5 EDH playables that may only intrigue someone at my LGS once in a blue moon.

I used to ship on the day I agreed to the deal. I wait about 36-48 hours now for that exact reason. I know a guy here (JWK) is huge there and I think he does that with me. He'll wait a few days as I add more and more Pauper crap and then send a big pile.

Sort of. Except you don't search the Haves. You have it listed and as soon as you have the points anyone with a FoW they are trying to dump will be able to see that some guys wants their FoW and has the points. Then THEY make the deal, yours points come off, you get the card, and THEN they get their points.
Anyone got a more efficient way of tracking your collection/sales for upload to Puca? I have thousands of cards where this would be perfect, but the prospect of spending days cataloging isn't very appealing.

Anyone with an uncommon puca account that could answer this for me? How reliably are you able to get any specific foil you list? I know they won't be filled nearly as quickly as others, but would you have to leave it for just a couple days or would it take a lot longer?
Usually I get them filled in a day or two. Remember that people are sitting on foils for a long time waiting for a Want to pop up, because so few Wants for foils happen. I got my foil Ajani within a day. I waited months before I was able to Send out the foil Gaddock Teeg I had been sitting on.

I usually don't agree to send unless I can send out $3 worth of cards. For overseas, $10 worth. Remember that "Forever" global stamps are pretty cheap too, around $1.20.

Once you have your $85 in points, everyone with a Force of Will will be able to see it in the Wanted listing. The first one to click on your account and pick Send will mail it to you. You don't do anything more than put stuff on your Wants list.
Remember that anything on your Wants list which you can afford could be sent at any time. If you are saving for a Force, keep your Wants list empty of anything else.
Pucatrade pretty much works like a huge store with buylist prices in store credit equal to their sell prices. For those asking about trading into legacy staples, it's definitely possible. I've built five different legacy decks (everything from budget Burn to a full-cost Esper Deathblade list) primarily through Pucatrade.
However, it's not always easy. Like a large store, they are not always selling what you want to buy, or buying what you want to sell. You could save up $300 in credit but find that every time they acquire that Underground Sea you've been coveting, someone else beat you to it. Similarly, you could crack a $40 Nissa, Worldwaker and find that every time you try to sell it to them everyone else has already filled their inventory. Dumping overpriced standard cards or acquiring legacy staples can require a great deal of patience. For things like overpriced standard singles I often take a slight loss taking store credit from CFB or SCG rather than risk having the bubble burst before I see it pop up to send on Puca. For pricey staples I need I'll sometimes pick up smaller, highly-liquid staples (like Shocks, DRS) to trade into those locally or on here rather than wait six months and hope someone chooses me from the dozen others who are all waiting on that same card.
It's a great system and where I do 95% of my trading these days, but if you think you're going to sign up and trade 20 Wingmate Rocs or 75 Stoke the Flames into a Volcanic Island prepare to be disappointed.
Well, my guy I'm sending to in Italy told me to hold off and then put up even more cards. I went to send him some more but was blocked by the website stating that they limit the amount of new cards that get sent out by new members. A bit odd and after speaking with the admin it looks like my account will be inactive until this guy in Italy gets his cards.
I'm really enjoying this site so far. It's kind of a fun game trying to find people who want what you have. I'm having to slow down for a bit, though, since I've sent off 6 envelopes already and have another 8 to go out. Probably shouldn't have done a few of them due to the low value but I got excited. I've already managed to score one of the fetches I need and after all of my current trades clear I should have enough points to pick up another two at least. I'm definitely considering upgrading my account so I can try to find some of the EDH foils I need but I don't know that I'll have enough points each month to justify the $5 for the uncommon rarity account.
I signed up this weekend and already have a Bloodsoaked Champion coming to me the in the mail, using only the free signup points I received! I shipped out an extra Aven Mindcensor I had that same day, and my Sliver Queen is going in the mail tomorrow. It certainly is a bit of a game to figure out what you have that others might want, especially if you have a large/old/random collection.
I've been using PucaTrade for about three months now, only on common membership.
It's been good to me so far. I received a dual land I didn't need from a friend so that he could get some standard staples for an upcoming tournament...so naturally I sent that off. Over the course of a few months I've been able to put together a playset of thoughtseize and a number of EDH staples/fringe wants that were impossible to find in the small town I currently reside in. No complaints here.
EDIT: After checking my trade history I remembered my favorite thing I was able to do with Pucatrade: I received a full set (25 of each) of full-art Zendikar lands from a specific artist in about one month. Collecting is very easy on that site...
So I've been trying to get a response to the admin on pucatrade, reached out via twitter as well with no answer. Does he frequent these boards?
When they first started out their servers went down and they tried to use this site to arrange trades. That's pretty much an instant ban thing at most places so they were banned.... so doubt it.
The admin. I'm currently sending 20 cards to 1 person, after I tried to send the 21st card it said my account was blocked from further trading since I'm new. The pop up said to contact the admin to up the restriction so that I can send more. Right now I have these cards going to Italy and if it doesn't get removed I'll have to wait a month before they get there, so I won't be able to trade for a whole month until I can prove that I'm an honest trader.
Sounds like an interesting system. That said... I don't think I could do it unless I am misunderstanding how it works. It seems like at some point you are going to be stuck with a bunch of puca points and nothing to get... which is basically wasted resources. Why is that? Because people can buy puca points and you get some for free when you sign up. So at all times there are more points out there than equivalent cards... and it will only get worse over time. I mean for every new user $4 of card value is effectively removed... and people will keep buying points which also effectively removes card value from the overall pool.
This is especially worrisome when a lot of people are trading in junk for staples. Eventually those staples will dry up... and people will realize it's not beneficial to send out a bunch of dollar bin rares unless they can get one person to take a large lot... as the shipping doesn't make sense.
Maybe I am being overly pessimistic... but this system seems flawed to me in the long run. Should be fine for now... as lots of people are joining in and adding cards to the pool... but I'd be wary of it in a years time unless it keeps growing in popularity. It's a brilliant idea for whoever made it though. This thing will churn out a lot of money for them (with zero risk since they invest no cards into it) before it ends.
Those new people with their $4 in points bring $100s of cards to the system too. In the long run it could be a problem, but almost all the cards people are looking to get are not Legacy staples - they are kitchen table, commander, cube, and cards from the new set. The victory stories are about trading up into $$$ cards, but the bulk of the cards people receive look like the cards you play in newer formats and not collected for value or Legacy.
No, you can't see what people have in their have list. As it is a big ticket item. I wouldn't even worry about someone having it or not right now anyways since the time it will take you to amass that amount will be further down the line and chances are the person might not have it anymore.

I'd try using the little (?) icon on the bottom of each PucaTrade site page. Also, did you tweet to @PucaTrade? The limit you encountered is to prevent someone from registering a new account and filling a bunch of orders they don't intend to ship in an effort to screw up the system. But an admin could probably lift the limit so you can do something while awaiting long-distance shipment. The admins have a lot on their hands, but generally 4 days is the longest it takes to get to something low-priority like lifting a new-trader limit.

Am I missing something?
Check out my earlier post - new traders must come with new points or the entire system doesn't work.
Quoth myself:
Points do enter and rarely leave the system. However the danger is not in too many points, but in too few.
Imagine the system at its inception. Say there are 100 users and all have 0 points. No one can trade anything, so the admins give everyone $10 in points.
Now players begin trading cards. But the total number of points in the system can't change, because the only way to obtain points is for another user to send them to you via a card trade. If 100 new traders sign up but don't get $10 in points, the average wealth per-player is cut in half and trading becomes more difficult.
PucaTrade is not a way to save up money. It is a way to turn cards you don't want into cards you do want. If everyone got as many points as possible and never spent them, things could collapse. But if you do what I do - sit on a small cushion of points and spend as fast as you accrue - there is no danger of losing value. Whatever you have extra, there is probably someone willing to trade for it. Whatever you need, there is probably someone willing to trade it away.
The genius of PucaTrade is those two traders don't need to be the same person.
EDIT: People are unlikely to buy PucaPoints because PucaValues are intentionally slightly above mid store pricing. If you trade in and out of PucaPoints, this doesn't matter. But buying points to spend on cards doesn't make financial sense. What it really does is keep out "black market" trading of your excess PucaPoints for real money.
I'm giving it a go, though I've run into a road bump. I had 5 active trades and just initiated a 6th that is going to involve sending 3 cards to Italy totaling about 75000 points - I added the first one, but now it won't let me add the other 2 cards. I just sent an email to the admin, so we shall see.
