When posting "haves," I currently post a handful of rares, mythics, all my foils, and a smattering of commons and uncommons that might be valuable.
Is posting ALL cards worth the time and effort?
Thank you.
Cheers!
That depends on your time value and how much you like trading. I only post my valuable cards that I want to trade - not my valuable non-trades or non-value cards. But I know some people post entire collections and are happy doing so.
Not unless you are extremely organized. I have found it helpful to have a small box (200ish) of random cards I keep listed. Having oddball cards listed helps push some trades from "not worth postage"into sure I'll ship that.
As far as incoming trades being slow, I just built Grishoalbrand and the main deck was complete within 10 days. Sideboard is going much slower but that's kind of expected. Speaking of which if you have the following cards and are on Puca send me a message and we can work something out.
I post all rares & mythics; and commons & uncommons 50 cents or more. I shop only envelopes that are $2.00 or more.
By sticking to my own rules hard & fast, I keep most junk off of my have's list. You'd be surprised what people want. Four 75 cent cards is $3.00- easy-peasy to ship.

Hey Krich!
A couple of the "old timers" on there like Brian Doran swear by it.
I myself am waiting for SP/HP quality to be available on the site before I do that, but I can see the value in doing so - you can commit to trades as soon as you see them available, rather than thinking "Hey, wow, I've still got a NM one of those somewhere, haven't I?"
I posted all my rares both in and out of decks on pucatrade.
You never know when some random card will spike that you dont really need.
I have a general idea of what i have as far as commons go, but you should always look everything up.
case in point : coldsnap edition of brainstorm and swords to plowshares are $4-5 each.
assorted FNM cards are worth a boatload. My 2 FNM quirion rangers were $35 each.

Interestingly enough, they don't even have a complete list of the Coldsnap Precons reprints. It was a pain in the ass getting Gorilla Shamans and Tinder Walls on Pucatrade... as in I couldn't and just had to go through TCGPlayer.
My puca haves list 12,000 cards, I am pretty sure it include cards from members that I have received. Many of the cards that I have acquired I have sold to local shops. I am always acquiring new cards to trade on Puca. Luckily, casual cards are very cheap here in Osaka, Japan. I am able to buy the over stock of "junk rares" at a very reasonable rate. Japan prices are not tied to TCG, and there is a lot of completion locally. In one small area of Osaka, there are nine shops selling magic cards. Some shops will unload cards that are not moving. (Rent is high, storage space is limited) I can find many 600 pint cards for 200 yen, and 200 point cards for 30 yen
I am slowly getting my collection in order, so that I can quickly ship trades. My advice is to put everything in Puca, you would be surprised what people want. I don't have everything in yet, but I am always adding a few cards. Don't underestimate the value of un/commons. When ever I search through my stock that isn't in Puca, I usually pull 10 to 15 cards and add them in. Many times adding un/commons to the trade pays for the postage.
One piece of advice is to be patient with your trades that you want to send. If you have a 1,000 point card that you want to move, don't send it to the first person who wants it, if they don't have any other small cards that you can send them.
Talking about hard to get stuff, I'm looking for 10x each of the Archenemy Swamp.
They're worth 850 points total and each deck only had 13 on a 4/4/3 spread making it harder.
How do you go about postage? Currently, I just have been using a PWE, top loader (or something stiff to lock the card in and prevent bending) and a stamp.
After a few trades, it has been adding up. Tips?
if the value is less than 500 points, i use the semi rigids. I take 2 penny sleeves one in each direction, put it into semi rigid, and put a little tape on top.
Always look through the entire want list, you never know what you will find.
Easy solution to reduce cost is to only ship cards that are worth a certain amount.

With two you kids, my wife doesn't allow me to use even one yen of my paycheck to fund this hobby. I sell a certain percentage of the cards I get to use for postage. Be smart with postage, and know how many cards you can add into the letter with out changing the rate. I can send six cards for 110 yen, if I add a seventh it will cost me 150 yen. So, when sending more than six cards, the extra cards must justify the extra postage. In Japan, I have not found cheap bubble mailers... but the ones sent to me can be easily recycled.
Be patient with the trades you make, when sending a higher price.. see if there are more cards that you can send. Locally. last week I picked up a Seadborn muse for 600 yen. There were two people who wanted it, but I had no other matches. I waited and today I was able to find someone who wanted it, and 600 points of other cards that I can send.
Wait on new cards. When a new set is released, 90% of the cards will drop by 20% or more within three weeks. If the card isn't going to be a tournament staple, it will drop.
There is a pretty broad spectrum of shipping cost strategies from the hardcore penny pinchers like Midorimage to people who just ignore it like the guy who sent me a Gurmag Angler. Just a Gurmag Angler. Eventually you'll figure out what works for you.
My target is to keep overhead costs, which is basically all postage, below 10% of the trade value. I put the cards in a penny sleeve ($.00 since I just have so many), and then a toploader ($.00 I receive more cards than I ship), load that in a small envelope ($.01), and use either standard US ($.49) or international forever ($1.19) postage. I generally will not send unless the total value is more than 500pp (US) or 1000pp (international). I've been bending this rule recently in the case of standard bubbles like Shaman of Forgotten Ways and Hardened Scales, but not by much and not that often.
Use the smallest size envelope at the store (I think it's called card size) because the larger ones are more likely to get shredded by sorting machines while holding cards.
I wanted your opinion on something... The attached image is what my current "receiving" page looks like. Did my mail carrier forget to deliver around the 4th or did I have a strange string of slow traders in there that lied about their shipping date?
After 3 weeks I think all of these trades are close to being resolved. 6 shipments and only 1 came as it should. The rest were shipped 10 days after they said they did, didn't have enough postage, or were shipped with missing cards.

I do try to send smartly, I think I am averaging over $60 a week on postage and if I didn't it would me much more. I often send small point trades of 400 points, but those trades cost me less than 1/2 that in postage and cards.
I've been on Pucatrade for almost a year now. I have a dozen or so KTK fetches I'd like to send out in the near future. I have noticed many users offer bounties for them. Unfortunately, I have thousands of trade matches for them and sorting through user IDs and profiles is aggravating. Is there a short cut to find the best bounties available?
Assuming I do find someone offering a bounty, what is the protocol? Should I expect them to send the extra points after I deliver? Is there anyway to guarantee I get the bounty? I have already seen at least two users complain about other users not honoring their bounty offers.

No way I know of to guarantee a bounty and there really isn't a systematic way of finding them besides browsing through. Usually people (myself included) pay bounties when the card is received...I've never had a problem being paid a bounty. Usually I'll send a message to the user I'm sending to if I'm claiming a bounty when I agree to send, that way it's in the record, and can serve as a reminder if they don't send.

I've had no trouble on either side of a bounty. In one case I forgot, and received a gentle reminder. Since then, I've taken to updating my profile with the names of those who have claimed a bounty, to ensure I don't forget upon receipt.
Because only Silver or Gold members can send points, generally they are the only ones offering bounties. And because they are paid subscriptions, they tend to be more reliable as they are more invested in the community.
I have my own way of picking out who to send to. Here's my list & I hope the logic is there:
1) Do they have other cards from my "have's" that I can add to the trade? If more than 1 does, pick the best option.
2) Who has been waiting the longest for the card?
3) If for some strange reason there is a tie, I'll then send to the gold (rare) member over the silver (uncommon) & uncommon, then silver over common membership.
It has never gone beyond that. I haven't had the option of choosing another w/ a bounty, but I guess a bounty would become the #2 spot, ahead of who's waited the longest.
Talking about slow trades got me thinking about how to improve getting stuck waiting for a card. I think if when sending there was a column that showed how long a member has been waiting, the community would take care of the problem (bounties non withstanding). If at any point your PucaPoints goes below the cards price that "date wanted" would reset. This ensures keeping it honest if you really need a card.
Trade with gold members. Most of these guys own stores or are very serious about trading and finance in general. They are the least likely to rip you off, and the most likely to get things out in a timely manner.
This may seem disheartening for some because 90 bucks a year to trade on a platform with lots of question marks seems risky, but Im here to tell you, once i reeived that little gold emblem next to my name its funny how many cards i started receiving...
Remember, they gift you 3k points (30 dolalrs trade value) and give you more bonus's for user signups. If you shell out the 90, make sure you use this to your advantage and it may end up not costing you much in the end
