so, i have been looking on ebay to pick up some more LotV because last month it was easy to get them below $70 each, i could pay more like 45 for 1 and trade it for $70 worth of other stuff. this week, i lost 2 consecutive auctions that ended for $425 a playset. can't you buy them on tcg for 70? are these people in the know and buying people out to corner the market or are they just stupid? or is there another option?

Project Booster Fun makes it less fun to open a booster.
$67.88 on Troll and Toad plus shipping. I think they do one dollar shipping for cards over ten dollars. So u can pull them for 69.99 right to your doorstep on troll and toad.
why does everyone forget troll and toad?

Whats the big deal about black lotus you ask? Well you see, there is no big deal about it. It IS the big deal.
Where are you seeing auctions end at $400+? Everything is ending between $220-260, with the Kid Icarus auctions covering the higher end of that range (as usual). You can still BIN playsets for ~$260 if you're impatient.

I agree with the above; I looked at eBay sold listings and see the same thing. I do want to point out, thought, that there can be price differences between markets. Some people ONLY buy via eBay. And eBay has fewer sellers per card generally than say TCG. So it's not unusual to find certain cards selling for more on eBay, although it usually means that TCG Player simply hasn't been bought out yet.
It's also important to remember that for a rich player who just wants the card, they don't really care if they pay $70 for a card they could have gotten for $60 elsewhere. Especially if they don't really keep track of prices. They're just be like, "Man, I need 4 of those, I'll just buy whatever is listed on eBay." Sometimes they don't even take the lowest price on eBay!

T&T has terrible customer service.
