You really have to wonder when dual land prices are going to Plateau. Even Badlands like Savannah are jumping up like a pouncing Taiga. All the lightning and Tundra is going to attract counterfeiters from the Underground, Sea?
My advice is to take all that money you made speculating and Bayou a Tropical Island to retire on.

These days, some wizards are finding they have a little too much deck left at the end of their $$$.

What happens with many cards is that they spike, then plateau. Duals spiked in March, and they're plateauing now. Tropical Island hit ~$230 before it started dropping to its current price of ~$190. It will reach a point when duals will completely level out, and only then will they start to go back up at a rate of about $10/year.
This is the MTGO subforum, you might want to move it out of here.
Dual lands on MTGO have fallen ridiculously hard in the last year, from over a thousand dollars for a set of 40, to less than four hundred for a *foil* set of 40.
They haven't really dropped, but they've been pretty static for the last 5 months, at least for Revised, the most commonly exchanged Duals. I keep a spreadsheet of the prices of my most expensive cards, those cards that are worth at least $50. There's about 100 cards on my list. Every 2 to 3 month I update the current values on my cards. I go by the lowest price a Nr Mint copy on TCGP is going for. If a vendor is selling a particular card at a significantly cheaper price than all other vendors, I dismiss this seller as an outlier and look to see what the other vendors are selling for.
I watch dual land prices regularly, particularly underground sea.
If I had to wager a guess as to when would be the best time to buy? It's probably now.
Dual land prices have dropped a little since their high this summer. Sonofabith has recorded underground sea prices today at 270 which is a slight price gain.
I would say however that there is a huge range of prices on underground sea on ebay at least because of variation in conditions. You can buy underground seas in MP/HP condition for as little as 200-225 from sellers with decent ratings.
If you wait I think its more likely dual lands will actually rise within the next 6 months.
Do you think the main thing supporting the dual lands prices is starcity games and their Legacy tournaments? If those touraments dint exsit would the prices continue to rise/stay stable based on their collectors appeal? I wonder where the prices will be in ten years time.
Who knows in 10 year's time. That's a long time and anything could happen. Many factors would weigh in and affect the price. It's better to look short term IMO (~2-3ish years), as it's extremely hard to predict long term especially when we're missing a lot of pieces of information (What Wizards will do for/against Legacy in the future, if SCG dropping Legacy altogether, a different company tries to make Legacy more popular, abolishment of reserved list). Too many factors we absolutely cannot possibly account for.
Reprints the one card that people point to when saying that art objectifies women.
Well done Wizards.
Liliana does not objectify women in any way at all. We have gotten to a point in our society that every single picture of a women must be objectifying a women in some negative way......blah blah blah.. That is not the case. (((Sarcasm)))Picture of a girl drinking a milk shake, must be sex related and putting women down, picture of girl sitting on a beach, picture of a girl driving a car, picture of a girl on the moon at a new space station.)))
You have a picture of an attractive strong power women who girls dress up as for anime conventions. What more do you want? The picture is fine, happy to see a reprint. Sick of of seeing people claim that everything in existence must be putting women down. Then all I have to do is replace the word "women" with anything else to get the same mentality; fish, cats, arabs, blacks, jews, men, environment, whites, chinese, old people, etc. It doesn't matter what word I put in. Stop sucking life out of everything man. That artwork of her is awesome. Stop putting stuff down man. Just stop. If the picture was really as negative as you claim she would totally nude, in a kitchen, making sandwiches and giving blow jobs. Her abilities would be horrible as well. +1 do nothing -2 do nothing -6 do nothing. Instead liliana of the veil is an amazing planeswalker comparable to jace, the mind sculpter with great art to appreciate.
My suggestion listen to some comedy radio for a while, pandora is free, youtube is free there is something out there for you. ***** go make fun of somebody. The whole world is so serious and campaigning for some cause, or someones rights, everything is a hate crime, racist, sexist. blah blah blah.
"O no mcdonalds must be slandering a hate crime against skinny people every time they make a big mac." hahaha jeeze You're just someone perpetuating another groups negative perspective that they've made you believe is correct. Look at the picture for a hour and tell me what's wrong with it? I don't see anything.
I have heard vague rumors of a moustache-dispensing vending machine in a distant laundromat, across the street from a tattoo parlor. However, this information is shaky, and time is of the essence.
It's really hard to predict the role of SCG legacy tournaments on the market.
There is no doubt that SCG's promotion of legacy generates at least SOME amount demand for legacy staples.
But how much? I don't think anyone knows for sure. A few years ago, I would have said that SCG tournaments are pretty vital to the legacy market. But with the rise of other mtg sites, and the tournaments/series they host, I would say from a business strategy perspective that if SCG dropped legacy, that would be exactly what I would hope for as a competitor.
Right now SCG does a lot to promote legacy. I think if they dropped that support, it would be in the financial interest of another competitor to pick up that slack.
I think those other MTG vendors are in a much stronger position to promote legacy themselves than a few years ago.
I can only guess what Legacy means for SCG. My guess is that SCG doesn't actually make that much from card sales supporting legacy. But just as restaurants make money from beverages and less from their food overhead, I think SCG realizes they profit indirectly from legacy support. If a restaurant reaps a high profit margin on drinks and smaller profit margin on food, the best business strategy isn't necessarily to stop selling food.
Legacy basically keeps a home to some of the biggest potential spenders in magic not to mention their most loyal fanbase in terms of years. These players spend money in other ways. They plunk a few hundred in cash for modern or the latest boxes of Khans. Ultimately, you want to keep these people around and interested in magic. If SCG wont do it, I think someone else will.

Scrubland: $86
Taiga: $75
Tropical Island: $200
Tundra: $210
Underground Sea: $325
Volcanic Island: $294
Total: $1583
On 7/12:
Badlands: $68
Bayou: $130
Plateau: $56
Savannah: $72
Scrubland: $70
Taiga: $65
Tropical Island: $176
Tundra: $183
Underground Sea: $252
Volcanic Island: $221

Taiga: $61
Tropical Island: $164

If I had to wager a guess as to when would be the best time to buy? It's probably now.
