So it looks like there's a new argothian enchantress mechanic in Journey Into Nyx called constellation. Does anyone else think that this will affect the price of serra's sanctum? It's on the reserve list, and still 1/5th the price of it's green counterpart, gaea's cradle. I think it has a lot of room to go up. Thoughts?
Serra sanctum can only get better as time goes on. It doesn't even matter what new cards get printed because its on the reserve list. If you have the money to blow, sure you could put it in serra sanctums.
Serra's Sanctum already jumped thanks to Theros. Pre-THS they were around $15 each, and it's since nearly doubled. I remember picking up a few last August or so after Theros was announced to be an enchantment themed block, and I just went back to check on my receipt for them. As to whether they'll jump again... I actually don't think they will unless the new mechanic will significantly boost Enchantress in Legacy. The change to the legend rule and being on the Reserve list will ensure they stay where they are, but Enchantress hasn't been a thing in Legacy for quite a while.

This - new card wholly unplayable in Legacy. But the mechanic itself is promising - it even triggers fro a resolved Replenish! I could realistically see Enchantress getting something which gives it a small (or better) boost. Moat has continued to rise despite Enchantress's poor performance in legacy lately. I see n reason why Sanctum won't continue rise as well. A playable constellation card could theoretically accelerate this.
Sanctum has already risen in expectation of something from Theros block helping the deck out (such as the aforementioned hype card). The only card Enchantress has received so far in the last two years is Sphere of Safety. But knowing MTG player mentality, Sanctum will shoot up again for no real reason, and people will call a single top 16 of an scg open event as proof of its viability.
I am figuring we will get an elf that gives a mana when an enchantment comes into play. Is that enough for the legacy deck? If it's a one drop maybe. A 2 drop with hexproof is probably unlikely.
Maybe a mana elf that itself is an enchantment creature. It doesn't get wastelanded like a wild growth, but does get hit by normal creature removal (unless you have sterling grove).

Yes, yes, yes. It doesn't need to be good or playable to go up. All it needs is hope, which is what it already has. Constellation could easily produce a card worthy of replacing Sigil of the Empty Throne. Even something like a white Wild Growth could boost Enchantress quite a bit. We'll have to wait for the spoiler to know for certain, but it already seems like many people are hopping on the sanctum train.
Great potential. At first I thought the coinmaker was it until I reread the card and saw that it gains life instead of pinging the opponent. As for the 2GG card, that card is unplayable in enchantress unfortunately and not remotely what the deck needs. You can already pay 1G or 2G for an enchantress effect via argothian, presence, or GSZ for enchantress. Not to mention the lack of shroud/hexproof is a death blow for a 4 drop in legacy nowadays sure it dodges abrupt decay but decay has so many targets in enchantress anyways. We'll just wait and see.
As for sanctum jumping, it jumped up before theros was released due to theros being an enchantment (creature) block. Because that, so far, is what theros has been. Loads and loads of enchantment creatures and no cards for enchantress at all that help it in any significant way. Nykthos is interesting in the deck as a green sanctum but I don't know of anyone who has seriously tested enchantress with nykthos.
Lotus cobra but for enchantments EtB instead is intriguing but I don't think it would boost the deck in the right way although I'm unsure. And it, again, has the creature removal problem as enchantress is immune to bolt, StP, and all those pure spot removal cards in the format since argothian has shroud.

"Yawgmoth," Freyalise whispered as she set the bomb, "now you will pay for your treachery."
An enchantment triggered Cobra would help when the engine is online, allowing us to better cast the cards we just drew. But with the high mana curve, it wouldn't help that much. Being an enchantment creature, it would gain protection with Sterling Grove and recursion with Replenish.
I'm crossing my fingers for something playable with Constellation. It's the perfect mechanic for our deck - we just need the right effect and power level.
Although everyone is saying Eidolon of Blossoms is worse, there are a few going for it over Argothian Enchantress. A Replenish not only brings back the Eidolon, but trigger constellation multiple times from all the other enchantments coming back. Replenish doesn't draw you any cards with Argothian Enchantress, since the enchantress' trigger is on casting, not ETB. All that's left is a constellation version of Sigil of the Empty Throne and you've got a T2 Enchantress deck.
I noticed that Serra's Sanctum HAS indeed gone up a bit on Ebay recently. I was trying to get my last one to complete a play set, but don't really want to dish out $25+ right now (especially with how much I've already spent recently )

It's unlikely that there will be another cantripping Constellation card.
Also, argothian has shroud. Huge difference.

Seems pretty similar to Lotus Cobra.
