Release now. There is a confirmed MM2 AND the modern event deck.
I'd be willing to bet an arm and a leg that BB will be reprinted in one of those sets if not another supplemental product
Do you have a link to the confirmed MM2 set? I know of the Modern event deck
I believe it was during a PT/GP stream and the developers were doing a bit on MM and they confirmed a MM2. I don't remember the exact stream date but i'm sure the guys at rumor mill would be able to link you to the exact stream replay.
Cash in every extra copy of BB you can, and if you never expect to play the card, I would cash out every copy.
People have speculated on BB before in the past, and the nut finally cracked. Wizards probably felt comfortable enough unbanning it because Faeries really never has had a presence in Modern like Jund, Pod, and the combo decks.
Also can't go solely on the PT results; often times its not a true measure of whats going on in the meta. 3 teams may decide to play faeries, and may even end up playing like 72-74 card equivalents. The real test for BB I think will be at GP Richmond; you'll get a fair showing of all the competitive decks, and we'll see how legit Faeries is then, I think.
It will die out when people realise that pooping out a token every turn while tron plays karns and eldrazis is not going to win you games. If it does do something degenerate it will not be in a fae build. Maybe something with swords or sac outlets and some blood artist builds. If it is going to get there it has to do something more novel and strong than just playing old fae decks.
Maybe, but Faeries was a dominant deck in Extended largely because of the interaction of Bitterblossom and the rest of the deck. People have said stuff like "It will die out when people realise that pooping out a token every turn while ______ plays _________ and ________ is not going to win you games" since the card was spoiled and so far it's proven to do enough stuff to enable a deck that does well. I remember people playing standard legal faeries in extended tournaments simply because they didn't want to mess with their standard decks, and they still did very well... it's a good deck.

Yea I think BB will do just fine. With things like tron, mistbind clique and vendilion clique do WORK. Turn 2 BB with Turn 3 countermagic into turn 4 clique locks will win games against tron.
But in the end, it'll still take time to prove but I think it can be done!
Im going to provide a counter argument to this whole dump bitterblossoms while you can. At least for now.
There is reason to suspect that the major reasons BB shot up was because of speculators.
Now that bitterblossom has been unbanned and shot up, people are saying dump it because of the
possibility of reprint.
That doesn't make sense just yet. MM2 is unlikely this year. We just had a MM last year.
Furthermore, Bitterblossom hasn't had a chance yet to prove itself in modern tournaments.
What pros will use BB in their decks? We don't know yet.
There's going to be another boost to BB well before a supply shock to it happens.
That boost is going to come in the form of player demand if BB should find itself in winning decklists.
And as other people are starting to point out. The unbanning of BB could very well make clique and other faeries go up.
I do think it's fair to at least consider waiting until Modern PTQ season before unloading them. I honestly don't have faith that the card will be a tier-1 4x-all-day PTQ crusher like Goyf, so I personally suspect that it will have a slightly underwhelming debut at the upcoming Pro Tour and then cool off and settle at 40ish until a reprint pushes it to 25-30 (which is where I think it probably belongs). But I could be wrong, and if I am, and Blossom fuels the nut high strategy to beat in the new format, then it could just be an 80$ card until MM2 ... and if MM2 has the same size print run as MM1, then it might not even cool off then. Basically, Bitterblossom needs to be basically the best thing you can do in Modern in order to retain its price point, but there's a nonzero (very very low in my opinion, but still nonzero) chance that it actually is.

The main argument for it is the Modern event deck coming in May that Wizards announced last month. It's coming with 5 double-sided tokens, which means that token creation will be a thing in it. Given that bitterblossom was just unbanned, that there are clearly token generators in the deck, and that the deck has a high MSRP, it seems like a bitterblossom reprint would match the clues.
And when they announced the deck, Bitterblossom was $15-20, so wouldn't be that high value. I don't expect to see a playset in there, but 2-3 wouldn't surprise me.
The same thing sort of happened when War of Attrition came out. Stoneforge was sub $5 when they designed the deck and printed it, then when it came out was $15-20.
I have been testing my version of Faeries vs. Tron. Sure, there are games where Tron just has the nuts and wins. But for the most part, Faeries
does very well vs. Tron. I have been testing it extensively; in fact it is the only matchup that I have tested a bunch right now. If you want my
list, it is...
4 Mutavault
4 Darkslick Shores
4 Watery Grave
4 Island
1 Swamp
3 Scalding Tarn
1 Marsh Flats
3 Creeping Tar Pit
4 Thoughtseize
4 Inquisition of Kozilek
4 Bitterblossom
4 Remand
4 Mana Leak
4 Spellstutter Sprite
4 Scion of Oona
4 Mistbind Clique
4 Cryptic Command
Now, there probably is a better list out there, since I was forced to make a list without use of the internet or other people. But, I feel
that this is the main nuts and bolts of the list. I personally don't like Vendilion Clique too much just like Faerie Standard because it dies
to a BB token.
Unless there is some analysis of how this affects the price of Bitterblossom, this is not the place for deck discussion. -Uldan
