She seems narrow and somewhat fragile, though playable. If her price is sustained it will likely be due to her placement in a middle set hampering her supply. I'd guess she will follow the same general path of all walkers as of late (notably Xenagos, the Reveler and Ashiok, Nightmare Weaver) in which they start around $30 and settle at $12 (range of $10-15).
Sorin, Lord of Innistrad seems to be a similar playability (limited due to harsh color constraints) and from a middle set, so I'd expect her to follow an almost exact path.
Multicolor planeswalkers have a hard time sustaining their price due to a limit of which decks can play them. If they are not powerful enough decks will not morph colors just so it can play the multicolor walker.
My verdict: 3-6 Months from now, $15 or less. Same price path as Sorin and Xenagos.
Like every planeswalker not relevant in competitive formats released over the past few years she will start stupidly high, then fall to less than $10 within 12 months. This one will be more like Vraska or Ral Zarek IMO.
I predict a similar price trajectory what we see from EVERY planeswalker but really this is a planeswalker that can protect itself and draw cards (which is a hallmark of the good ones). For instance right when Liliana of the Dark Realms came out you could pick up Liliana of the Veil at 15-16 bucks a copy, so it even happens to the best Planeswalkers these days.
I think the only planeswalker to ever truly hold value and gain right after it comes out was Jace, the Mind Sculptor. Being playable isn't enough these days for a planeswalker to gain value in the moderately short term (meaning after some initial hype and lack of supply).
Star City will premier it at $39.99. I think it will go up from there.

I am suspecting that it will dive rather shortly as there are not many tier one decks that are UG. Also, burn is relatively strong at FNM. I find most folks will get one and be happy for commander. I really don't see her being a play set in decks when the RTR jade and Elspeth win better as a combo. It's the same issue of Domri and Garruk with Xenogas being left out or a 1 of. In this case, Kiora is an extra color. I am more curios to see what BUG could use it for.
$8 near future.
If she is legacy playable, that could stop the TNN beatdown.
How so? She can't target TNN.
On topic... I think she will fare a little better than Ral Zareks price trajectory. Simply because she has the tools to be a powerful PW (can protect herself AND generates CA).
It's going to crash land at sub $10 and the only reason it might not is because it's the first UG walker. Foils will stay high but that's true of most planeswalkers. She is not remotely legacy playable or modern playable for that matter when lightning bolt and jace, the mind sculptor exist in those formats.

"Yawgmoth," Freyalise whispered as she set the bomb, "now you will pay for your treachery."
what was that blue walker form avacyn? She's like that, she can lock down a threat, she draws cards, he ult wins games, what more do you want form a walker? I think her only hurdle is 2 starting loyalty but she seems very very strong in blue mirrors as getting ahead on lands and cards means everything in that matchup. In blue mirror I'd argue she's probably better than jace early.

I can see that for as long as RTR is in standard, Kiora won't do well. Simply put, devotion decks are just too strong. Both U and R devotion are very fast and put too many threats on the board that can overrun Kiora. With B devotion, you have to deal with the pack rat swarm and T4 desecration demon. Not to mention lifebane zombie can remove Kiora. Kiora doesn't even stop Aetherling in the esper matchup
Let's run through the abilities:
1. Barely protects herself. Unlike tamiyo or ajani, can't lockdown a land or artifact. Honestly, the only reason it doesn't say creature is so you can +1 her on a creatureless board. You could stop an existing valukut from damaging you, I guess.
2. A 4 mana explore seems really bad.
3. Decent amount of of casual appeal.
The most important competitive factor: 4 mana and doesn't survive bolt. No way in hell it's seeing legacy, and especially modern, play.
I'd slate this price trend to be far more like Gideon, Champion of Justice. Flavor might keep it at Ral's price though.

What? Desecration demon and lifebane zombie are two cards she is good against. Single target for +1 means she can hold them off indefinitely (of course if they land a mutavault...).

I merely making a comparison between mono B devotion to the other devotion decks in the meta. R and U devotion are aggro while B devotion is more control but any deck that can stick multiple creatures will beat kiora. MBD is no exception.
Also I was making a point about lifebane zombies CIPT ability because Kiora is green
And what do you think she will drop down to after the dust settles?
I know this is very early, but isn't fun to speculate and see how the card(s) progress?
On a side note, isn't her last name Atuna... (Kiora "A-Tuna" - she is a mermaid... lol...)
OK, here's my speculations:
Upon Release: ~ $30.00
Once the dust settles: ~ $15.00

Indeed, and before they spoil Duel Decks: Kiora vs Sarkhan.
You catch my drift!

Play her alongside Jace? The both of them together could either lock down the opponents board, or fact or fiction into extra land drops.

Tamiyo, the moon sage is the card you're thinking of.

Cash? Credit? Gold? or Jace?
