Why are people paying $7 for Temple of Enlightenment on eBay? SCG and Card Kingdom have them for $5 each. This is stupid. eBay is supposed to be cheaper.
People like to one-stop-shop. Not everyone hunts for bargains. If people are paying, people are going to list it for that much.

People aren't listing that much, I specifically said "paying". An auction I've been watching for one card is now $7. That means two people bid up to that much.

While most cards are cheaper via eBay, there are certain cards that are more expensive. It's entirely about supply. Some people only shop via eBay and don't know or don't use SCG/CK. So if SCG and CK aren't on the ball enough to be listing their cheaper stock on eBay, someone else can come along and set a higher market price. If the difference is only a dollar or two, it's probably not worth someone's time to buy SCG/CK stock and then resell on eBay; by the time you include fees and shipping your profit is minimal.
Also from that same link I posted there's this that happened during game 2 of the final.
Then, a small rules hiccup ensued. Though you might intuitively think that when both Archangels attack, each Archangel only triggers once, Head Judge Toby Elliott verified that Comprehensive Rule 118.9 states thusly: multiple sources of life gain will produce multiple life-gain events, even though all the life is gained simultaneously. Make sense? It's weird, and don't worry about it if you don't want to. Just know that both creatures shot up to six +1/+1 counters after the rules kerfuffle, and threatened to hit for nine damage a piece next turn. That would outrace the library depletion by about two turns.
Now it's common knowledge that multiple Thunes work this way I guess many players out there are going to want to make this interaction happen themselves. Even with just one angel it turns every lifelinker into another trigger. Azorius Charm and Whip of Erebos are two enablers that come to mind.
Obzedat also triggers archangel, but both are 5 drops so it isn't worth it to build around that probably might be worth it when the BW god is released in JOU though depending of course on the support as well. As for archangel staying this high, maybe, maybe not. Price memory is in its favor for sure. M14 is looking quite lucrative value wise though with archangel and mutavault jumping up in value though.

"Yawgmoth," Freyalise whispered as she set the bomb, "now you will pay for your treachery."
so prophet of kruphix was named the card that BNG gave the most to, how do you think it will be affected pricewise? could it be a big deck now?
I do not think we will see Prophet shine and gain any value until rotation. Once people lose a lot of the RtR block toys they will start to look elsewhere for strong Standard options and Simic really shines with the Theros block.

I will always firmly stand by the belief that Magic is a game first and a collectable second.

Where was it named such?
When is Theros Block Constructed season? If it is popular there, it's probably due for a price bump at rotation. I'd like to see a Prophet deck become popular in Standard before then, but I'm not too hopeful.

1 month ago roughly prophet was trading for 1.50 a copy now they trade for about 3.50 a piece. The card has already more than doubled in price in the span of 30 days dude, all this without a deck that really utilizes the card in standard becoming a big deal.
Prophet is just insane-o in EDH. I would hold on to foil copies like winning lottery tickets. I've been snapping up non-foils whenever someone offers one to me at bulk rare value.

I've totally been snap trading for certain foils from the past few sets aka prophet of kruphix, progenitor mimic, etc. Definitely worthwhile at such low prices!

Are you guys expecting this card to be worth more than $20? Seems odd that you say foil copies should be treated like winning the lottery...

Alexander Hayne ran 4 in his sideboard at GP Vancouver. Seems like this was new/not well-known tech.

I think EDH is driving most of the price of Prophet. It's pretty much Seedborn Muse #2 for U/G/(x) decks.
