It's a rare without massive tier 1 appeal in a widely-opened set. It could very well gain some value after rotation, but even if it turns out to be really good, the supply will just be too high for it to have any significantly large price.
Kolaghan's Command just shot up a dollar. The supply on TCGPlayer looks suspiciously low, I suspect a buyout is happening right now.
It is going to be very hard to buy out a rare in standard that is two color, when so many other rares in the set are higher valued. While I wouldn't be surprised to see it go up to maybe even $5, buying it out is likely a losing proposition.
Aranthar that is not entirely true there is a wombo combo zombie deck in modern centered around Sidisi. Rooftop storm lets you play her for free. You can sacrifice herself to the exploit trigger and gets some gravediggers to rinse and repeat. When you have done that a few times you can finish off with Gray Merchant of Asphodel.
Probably not to next big thing that combo deck but just saying Sidisi has some eternal applications
Is the dip in monastery mentor due to lack of standard play? I know it has powerhouse potential in vintage/legacy but lately the price has been dwindling
What's everyone's thoughts on the Ugin's fate promo Ugin? I know it's already expensive, but the price is dropping and it might be nearing a good time to nab one on puca trade possibly. Limited supply, high-ish demand, but most is in standard and some modern and other eternal. Just curious as I really do want one.

The card could be Darksteel Hockey Puck in terms of functionality. It's a collector's item, like the stupid SDCC walkers. Its price won't be driven by standard playability, but by the fact that it's really hard to get one and it looks really cool. I would pick one up now, because the supply will not increase but the demand will.
Look at Book Jace or SDCC Chandra as a comparison. Their popularity, in terms of purely playable cards, has gone up and down, but their prices have stayed consistent. If you think that you can get it on a downswing, then go for it.

There is an enormous list of people on pucatrade with khans fetches on their want lists. Like, near the number with abrupt decays or snapcasters on their list, and those are out of print. With SCG having buy prices only 20% below TCG low for NM copies, are we due for an incoming price bump?
Possibly, its been a while since we had standard lands at close to 20$. I remember fastlands (scars block) went up really high at some point in STD. Innistrad checklands for that matter too, all due to standard demand. I think the main reason your seeing the high amount of fetchlands wanted on puca is that it is the easiest card to trade away or sell, fetchlands will always be in demand and it makes sense to turn worthless pucapoints into something as liquid as fetches. Also, fetches will see HEAVY play all the way until it rotates.

If Pucapoints are worthless, how do they get Fetches? Pucapoints are as good as cash, in the Puca marketplace.

They are worth nothing if no one wants to send any expensive cards.
They don't have to be expensive cards. Just in demand cards. He called them worthless, and then said they're frequently used on Fetch lands. Therefore, not worthless. Over 1800 Fetches have exchanged hands in just the last 30 days. over 10,500 since Jan 1 (an average of 64 exchanges every day for over 5 months), and over 14,100 since Khans came out. Fetchlands are multi-format all-stars. Anything that can be exchanged over 14,100 times for some of the best cards in the game certainly has worth. Fetches not valuable enough? Ok, how about the nearly 300 Noble Hierarch's or 200+ Cryptic Commands?
And BTW, I Puca traded my way to an $800 judge foil FOW within 7 weeks of joining the site (see #16). Someone had to send that now, didn't they? https://pucatrade.com/cards/toptrades/value
So.... people willing to use points to send cheap cards to eachother is worthless? I guess I'm confused. Pucapoints have a pretty clear monetary value. Is it 100 to $1? No. But there is certainly value there. Ohh, and people send expensive cards all the time.
The liquidity comment by Viserdes is accurate though -- fetches are liquid, so they are good holds, if you don't want to hold pucapoints until the next time you want cards. I will say that is extremely easy to get any standard cards on the site.
so i have to explain why pucapoints are worthless? Perhaps that was the wrong word to use. They do have a worth, but it is not something i would ever invest in (i did at one point but cashed out in fetches of my own). Effectively i knew someone who exploited the system and created "people" to trade with, he did this over the course of weeks/months and "traded" with them. When i meant that the points were worthless it didnt mean you couldnt easily get real value out of them, but when you can create points out of thin air there is no confidence in it as a currency.
Ummmm creating multiple accounts violates their terms of service. Not sure how good they are about monitoring it though. I know I traded some cards to a friend for pucapoints and kind of regret it as I want real value cards. I put fetches on my wants with no takers thus far. Sure they were blue. This morning I decided to add heath's and foothills just to maybe get rid of my points.
Fetches can't go above 20. There's just no way when boxes of khans are going for 85-95 sealed/just off fetches a box is going to contain substantial value at 3 per box average not taking into account foils and other in demand cards from there.

I think it's seen play in some whip decks! He might be undervalued and may see more play depending on what we see in future standard sets.

It is a great EDH card and reasonable in Standard as a 1-2 of. No Eternal implications. $2 seems about right to me.

Seems like a reasonable source to get an idea for demand for cards. And, of course, demand and price are related.
And trading points into Heirachs, FoW, and
Cryptic's relates to Standard.......and arguing points are worthless....yep. Totally Standard related.
