I have recently come across a set of one of each pack of magic, excluding alpha, un sets, and starter 99 and am having trouble getting an accurate value to associate with them. These packs are straight from WoTC storage, so they are all unsearched/unmapped etc. The packs are all english.
If anyone has any insights on how to go about getting a decent price for the lot, I would appreciate it.
Beta is the most expensive of the set you mention, then Unlimited. I am assuming no Summer booster, correct?
There has been a few booster lots close to this. I think one that went Unlimited forward went for a little over a grand. With beta added, closer to two grand I think is in the ballpark. A limited market would be interested in that so its hard to gauge.
Thanks, i actually lost in the quarter finals of the event, but it was against a friend and we split. The zendikar pack is from the hidden treasure run, the pack used in the actual event had an underground sea in it
Probably your best bet to add up completed listings, then expect to take a small hit to sell it as a lot. There may be a few bites if you BIN or Best offer since the whole event was hyped up. (And perhaps a group of friends with some money to blow might be pretty interested in their own.)
I really doubt the fact that Zen being first print will have ANY effect on the price. The odds were what... 1 in 700 ish packs? It's amazing the one at the con had a sea, but really thats an amazing coincidence at best. What could it possibly add anyway? A few bucks? We're talking about something that's already been said to be in the 2 grand range. Do you think someone is going to offer you, say, $1510, rather than $1500, just because it's a first print zendikar? I don't. (If you go the ebay route most of your offers will be about 100 bucks anyway knowing some buyers...)

If your deck is 60 cards then you're playing with the best possible odds. 61? Probably won't alter your odds too much but we all know that 96% pure meth won't cut it next to Heisenberg's 99%.
Yeah I'm guessing you just add up all the completed listings. Pretty sick that whoever got the zendikar pack in the top 8 got an underground sea as a consolation prize, the odds of that are miniscule.

"Yawgmoth," Freyalise whispered as she set the bomb, "now you will pay for your treachery."

From my experience with local stores, first run zendi gets a 35-50% premium, and people snap them up.

That is true- I never said Zen doesn't deserve a premium for first run. The lot just wont really see a difference because of that. Its a few dollar difference in a thousand dollar lot.

Just a warning to anyone interested in these. I personally watched these be searched after they had been given to the winner. Obviously I can offer no proof and OP will no doubt refute my claim but, you have been warned
