They're not going to print hexproof sliver at UW. If they do, oh dear lord...double strike is something they're very careful with, especially when the effect is granted to all your dudes. Sure if they went herp derp 3 mana doublestrike all your slivers sure, but I seriously doubt they would ever do that, even if it costed 3 different colors it would be obscene.
What I'm interested in is if slivers are in theros as well as M14. If they are, hold onto your butts.
Oh dear lord is right! I forgot about hexproof and indstructable. The indestructable sliver might be a Dauntless Escort version. Another discard sliver would be nasty as well.
This the first time I have said this and regret the feeling, but hasn't Wizards learned it's lesson? Slivers that are to good can easily take over at 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in FNM's, but crappy versions on slivers are just bought by new platers as pre-con decks. It's exciting to know slivers will be back, but saddened that they are printing exspensive versions to control them. All those articles about how the M sets need to be easy for starter players seems to have fallen on deaf ears with slivers. Cards are supposed to easy not idiot proof! Don't get me wrong, I love slivers.
From a Modern standpoint, anybody considering sinew sliver a good speculation target (foil from planar chaos) given that muscle sliver is not (yet) available in modern?
Indeed the Queen is getting that "first" wave frantic-hype...but mark my words right now...that Sliver Legion is a far harder card to find binders these days (multiply reasons), and it being from Future Sight sincerely doesn't help the cause for collectors to snack on them, buy Legions "now" while they are a 1/3 of the Queens price if your a casual silver lover.
The Overlord saw a deep and penetrating reprint last I checked, I wouldn't waste my time on that one because I see no true investment reasons to do so, just my 2-cents on the casual silver topic.
Sliver Legion has other cards that duplicate it's effects (Coat of Arms, Door of Destinies, etc). The real reason I suggested Sliver Overlord is he's the most powerful mechnically, and he's fairly cheap right now so he has more room to grow. If it goes up $3, it'd be the same % as a $20 raise from legion.
Ever consider that Slivers could get an infect sliver? Yuck.
Slivers that might see some value increase for Modern.
Necrotic Sliver
Sinew Sliver
Gemhide Sliver
Sedge Sliver
Two Headed Sliver (if Infect sliver is created)
Pulmonic Sliver
Psionic Sliver (Infect again)
Homing Sliver (better than most think)
Not related Legacy sliver but really good- Toxin Sliver
I had a random notion. What if the big sliver boss was a planeswalker? All the investing in the big slivers, except Sliver Legion (future sight thus modernmaster target), seems jumping the gun.
I can see pennies adding to "dollars" with regards to the Overbust, but once the masses see and understand that the Legion flat out wins the "sliver" game plan on the spot (causal and edh)...and of course realize they're harder to find (I'll stand by this no matter how many in the next 2 weeks pop up on Feebay)...yeah those pennies won't have an impact on a card that could in theory jump to $30 or even $40, Legion.
Its all in the (profit) handbook, I'm still working out the kinks... but its hard to tell the "some" that Pennies vs Dollars isn't the route I take...it'll always be ladder.

If they print some insane slivers then the prices of the older slivers will go up and in a hurry. Queen will be 50+ Overlord will 10-15 and the Legion will be 30-40. The older ones from Stronghold and Legions will rise and maybe a nice modern deck or two will come out of it.

$60 doesn't seem outta whack for a sealed PDS deck...I've been watching them for some time since I've been sitting on a sealed one a few years...Star City is selling them for a benjamin now.

$100 is a bit crazy for a deck that had zero demand last week.
I can see a top end of $60-70 in the short term, but you know SCG has been sitting on these at slightly over MSRP and selling Zero for 2 years.

I would think Cavern of Souls is always a good investment, especially the foils. It's sitting around $20-$25 and hasn't been a cornerstone land in any competetive decks (I think) yet, and it's just a respected bad boy who is still waiting to come out and ruin lives so it demands a $20. If it gets serious play I would imagine it rising. Especially the foil which is only sitting at double right now, I can see it asking $100 in the future. Of course I am not sure if it's being used in decks.
Edit: but this is about Slivers. So I'll add something to this. I expect most rare slivers to go up solely off of EDH (especially Psionic Sliver), but of course non-edh casual will help as well.

$100! Wow. That seems to indicate that a $60 or more price tag on ebay is pretty reasonable. I imagine they will only increase towards the arrival of M14.
Since May 9th the sealed PDS Slivers are selling between $75-95 (depends on shipping included or not, etc).
To me that's amazing. I haven't been following, but certainly there will be more/better Slivers showing up in M14 than what has been spoiled thus far. Could that push the price up further on these or is this the price based on anticipation of more/better slivers in M14?
This jump is all done by speculation. It has been at $20 since its been printed. One of these days, magic is going to crash, hard.
2 years ago I got mine for $10 without trying very hard.

Some of the PDS: Slivers now going for over $100. Anyone have any thoughts about my previous post? If I put it on ebay now will I feel bad later this summer if it goes up significantly because of other M14 Slivers (that might be better than what's already been spoiled?)
So I went to check the price on Sliver Queen yesterday...it's around $45
I get that casual/ EDH appeal can drive a card's price up a decent amount....but how on earth did it reach the point where it is now? I'm pretty sure it sees no play outside of casual/EDH sliver decks.

Hasn't it been immensely popular since its debut? It's the first 5 color creature (well, besides 1996 World Champion :P), part of a cool tribe, and has sweet art.
It's like Doubling Season in its appeal to casuals, only it's much older, on the Reserved List, and in less supply. Those factors lead to a huge price.

Me too. I've been sitting on one for a while now. There's a bunch on ebay right now. I guess we'll see when the auctions start to end.

Printing slivers in a core set seems more far fetched (they are here) than a 5 color planeswalker when Nickolas Bolas got printed in the M/core set.
